Rage did a nice job what the wings should have did it for level with the ground and they could have made it with working ailerons just as the real Spirit of st. Louis had working ailerons
Hey Jon👍 not watched any of your vids for months because I got back into ground vehicles but getting back in flight 😜 Wow I wore that Jordan top in high-school 25 years ago
@@JonsRC I second that! I do love my ex Max but it's not fair that it's a $1,200 truck. 😂 I don't think I need any other vehicles except for maybe a UDR I'd like to replace my old Traxxas bandit from when I was a kid.
@@JonsRC I'll let you know how my made in flight goes! 👍 I'm hoping she flies like my tundra which is my go-to plane! That thing just floats and it's unbelievably responsive!
So did RAGE SEND THIS PLANE TO YOU TO MAKE A REVIEW..??? BECAUSE YOU TRULY DID NOT EXPLAIN EXACTLY HOW THE TRANSMITTER WORKED. FOR BEGINNERS WATCHING THIS REVIEW..
LOL! We wish! We saw this at Pegasus Hobbies and thought it would be cool to fly and maybe show other flyers how this plane flew. This was all out of pocket for us. But, point noted, we will spend more time explaining all aspects of what’s in the box on future reviews! Thanks for watching our vids!
Jon, wish I were even 1/10th the RC Pilot that you are. Nice scale looking plane but I'd still recommend the HZ Sport Cub S 2 over this as a first plane. I really believe that SAFE allows more success for the beginner so they're more likely to stay with and not drop out of the hobby. What model would you recommend as someone's very first, someone that wants to learn on their own and not start by joining a club? Also, I think it is important you remind new pilots that planes like this need to be flown in none to very calm wind.
I learned to fly on the Champ. It’s only 3 channels but it could survive a lot of crashes. But, if I could do it over again, I would pick the 4 channel Sport Cub. The Sport Cub is very easy to fly, can survive not so great landings and has ailerons. After I learned on the Champ, I had to re-learn how to fly with ailerons for my more advanced planes. But honestly, you can’t go wrong with the Champ or Sport Cub. They will both teach you how to fly solo.
@@JonsRC Very true. Didn't think of that. Just moved my wife from the champ to the sport s2 and she's struggling in high rates without safe... But she's got it! 👍
@@JonsRC I also started with the Champ and partially on your recommendation.. Flew it until the ESC/Receiver board went bad. You guessed it.. part has been discontinued. Moved on to the HZ Sport Cub S 2. Wished I had started with the Cub in the first place. Friends please be aware of parts availability before buying or recommending a particular model.
Hey,im flying r/c planes for 11 years and im one of the best freestyle pilots in israel.my advice for you,is to fly rudder and elevator only planes a lot if you would like to improve in 3D maneuvers :)
Hello..are you there..I have a question..about this rage sprit Of st Louis..???.. Where You able to test the Running up of the motor to 100% on the throttle with out it shutting off..???
Hello my friend this is from a new subscriber and I have a question about this beautiful aircraft..will it still fly if the wings are slightly bent to be level with the deck instead of being slightly tilted up like they are..because the real planes wings are straight across and level with the ground..????..will be waiting for your response...thanks.. Oh..and P.S..WHERE CAN YOU GET SPARE PARTS FOR THIS PLANE..THAT TO IS VERY IMPORTANT..???
Hello are you there..I have a question..did you do a full throttle run up on this rage sprit Of st Louis..and if so..did the motor shut off just after 50% throttle..???..will be waiting for your response..
Hi. I had no issues running on full throttle on this plane. But, I have experienced a similar ssue before on another plane. It was balsa ARF kit and beyond 70% throttle, the plane lost power and I almost crashed it. It turned out to be a faulty ESC. I replaced the ESC and the issue went away.
did you have to bind the transmitter to the rage Spirit of st Louis..because you did not show that in your review..which is something you should do..and instead of just saying the measurements in mm..also say in inches..anyway thank you for your response and will be waiting for your response on the question of binding the transmitter that comes with it to the plane..the transmitter i received with mine is not like the one you got with yours..and my motor cuts off before mid throttle..so it can't fly..
@@JonsRC thank you my friend for responding to that power shut off on my spirit of st. Louis aircraft now where is the ESC unit on that Spirit of st. Louis aircraft I also noticed that the spirit of st. Louis that I received came with a black transmitter and that the silver transmitter that came with yours
@@JonsRC also could you show me a little more detail on your silver transmitter and how that charging work for the flight battery that is in the silver transmitter and will it charge a battery while flying the Spirit of St Louis or no..???

Thanks! Welcome back! Tried to get into monster trucks myself. It was fun but I just didn’t have the same passion for it as I do in flying!

Almost grabbed one of these the other day, but 3ch and non bindable kept me from grabbing it. Got a night timber x and a sonic wake proboat instead. 😂
You made a great choice! I love the Timber!

Even that plane is a bit much for most. Champ then sport cub s2 I'd say... Lol

Nice aircraft my friend but the windows should be closer to the engine they're just a little too far back
If you fly the plane hard enough into a solid wall you can adjust the relative positions of the windows and engine to suit yourself. 😜😁
Sure was a fast loop.
Yep. The elevator has a big throw and is very sensitive.
Could those 1" wheels be switched out with 2" foamies?

No ailerons? No good, too bad I was really looking at this, dang..😢
Do you have a brand name or a link to buy? I don't see it on my smartphone UA-cam App...
I bought this from my local hobby shop. But, they do sell it online.
