EPISODE 3
Soil tests results are back. The seedlings are getting bigger under the grow lights. It's time to catch up with other growers and get my patch prepared.
Mowed down the winter rye.
Measured out the amendments based on my soil test results.
Spread the amendments.
Tilled the amendments.
Patch 1 and 4 are done. Patch 3 still to go.

ABOUT
I grow my pumpkins in New England, and I'm trying to beat my personal best Giant Pumpkin of 1832.5lbs. Happy to answer any questions in the comments. Subscribe for weekly updates to my 2022 season.
I like to watch your videos, greetings from Romania, keep it up
That's so good to hear. I'm glad you like them!
Would love to see a video of the attachment cart!!!
Great video :) good luck with the start of your season.
Thank you! I'm looking forward to it
I see on most your video's you podt what you did. I saw a lot of bags there. Do you tell people what you put n the field before tilling?
Very nice, I'm doing the same in Germany but without adding mineral fertilizer, I try to achieve the goal with natural components. Your little tractor is really cool, I'm doing it with a Agria 1700 walkbehind
Thank you! That's cool to use natural components instead - I should really put more emphasis on that. The tractor saves me a lot of time with the mowing and tilling, so I love having it. I like the look of the walkbehind you have - it looks very capable
@@NortheastGiantPumpkin yes, and its from 1958, still getting a lot of work done
What are the dimensions of your growing area for 1 pumpkin?
I grew my big one last year in 950 sq ft of space. But my friend grew a 1300 pound pumpkin in 150 sq ft (6ft x 25 ft)
Where do you get your alfalfa and Kelp? I’m trying to find a place to get cheap alfalfa I’ve never used it before?
I have to go to two different farm supply / feed stores. The alfalfa seems easier to get - I buy pellets - but haven't been able to find meal. The kelp is especially tough to find in large amounts. Some farm stores may be able to special order for it. I buy mine from a commercial farm supply. Good luck
Okay thanks
