In movie 0 gojo insinuated he’d lose to rika when we know now he’d very likely wash rika no difficulty and this was just a year ago, so it’s not like he actually got much stronger. I just think gege hadn’t planned yet for gojo to be a near demi-god in the series hence him not instantly washing Miguel.

@@bizzaromg2903 Gojo could use literally every other ability besides the Limitless Infinity Barrier and Domain Expansion (because of his allies) Even in physicals alone, he dogged Jogo and messed up his internal organs (based on how he was spitting blood from most of Gojo's attacks) while Miguel fought Gojo for like 12-15 minutes or something when Gojo was trying to win as fast as possible and get back to the school
The fight between Gojo and Miguel is totally different in Chapter 0. In the manga Gojo throws Miguel into a building and he admits that he is way out of Gojos leaugue and that's it. The only reason Miguel doesn't get even more beaten up than Jogo is because Gojo avoids killing human.
