Great tips as always, Mark. A few other things to do, maybe... *_Royal Castle Bugle Call_* 11:15 AM daily, a trumpeter plays a short tune 3 times from the clock tower facing Old Town Square commemorating the first bombing of Warsaw. It lasts only a minute but very interesting and enjoyable actually. *_Shopping Beneath The City_* Under many major intersections you will find shops set up in long corridors and walkways. Beneath Central Station as well as Roundabout Dmowskiego are many shops selling food, clothes, electronics, you name it. My hotel was in between these two so I explored both and I've heard there are many in the city. Something different to do when it's cold or rainy. *_Milk Bars_* Bar Mleczny or Milk Bars are no nonsense, cafeteria style eateries that offer delicious hearty Polish food on the cheap. If the menu has no hint of English, you may be in an authentic one. They are not fancy but have an interesting history.
Michał Wojtkowiak: I consider to Travel over Christmas to Poland. Any Suggestions for this Holiday Season in Poland? I am concerned about the museum oppening Hours. Are restaurant Open?
As a person from Warsaw I highly recommend POLIN museum and Warsaw uprising museum. National Museum is a bit boring if you're not into art. Also you can also check Wilanów Palace.
Got inspired by this video to book a trip to Poland. So I am going late december after xmas. It's going to be great!really cheap flight, and accommodation despite getting really fancy one.
As always an engaging video. Love your presentation. Never thought much about visiting Warsaw but after watching this video will probably add to my travel plans for next summer.
One thing I learned recently in Lodz was ask the waiting staff to recommend local favourites off the menu. They love sharing the region and not only what u order but little tasters too. The Poles are lovely people despite the Polish expression haha. Great place
Hey Mark, I'm an old subscriber but commenting for the first time. Appreciate all the effort you put into all your videos. I'm an Indian, currently in Warsaw. Have been travelling to Europe for past 3 years. Just wanted to thank you and your informative videos that travellers like us get a good sense of what to do and what not to do. I followed your tips and had a wonderful day today. Keep informing and inspiring travellers like us. You are a Bible when it comes to Europe. God bless!
Spent 2 weeks with business in Warsaw I’m 2016 and it was a place I’d like to return to as a tourist. Nice people, good food and drink plus a clean, safe and interesting city with good public transport.
Thanks for the information, I was there last year, and I enjoyed the city of Warsaw, Poland. I wish to visit again if I have the chance. Love this country, it has a lot of historic sites to visit.
Another great video. Just got back from a weekend there, first time visiting, and loved it. Museums etc all good, and there's a surprisingly vibrant craft beer scene, with loads of specialist bars selling weird and wonderful beers.
Similar to my experiences of three months in Budapest. Public transportation was invariably great but we walked everywhere that was 5k or less. I had to teach the day after we got back to the states (NJ). We stopped for lunch. a burger and a beer cost more than our most elaborate dinner in Zagreb.
To be honest, if you want to eat something in the main square/near other landmarks in any major Polish city, the prices will be high... comparing to every other place.. and, to be honest - Poland is not "that" cheap - visit Ukraine or Belarus for example :D
When I'm showing foreign friends around Warsaw I always first take them to the Palace of Culture to the viewing terrace so that they can take a good look at the city from above and then we go the Warsaw Rising museum where among many other things you can see the short film "City of Ruins" which is the reconstruction of how Warsaw looked like just after the Rising fell - it helps people see things in perspective and I strongly recommend it. Anyway, very nice video :) But regarding the "Royal Way", please don't confuse with the Royal Route which is all the way between Royal Castle in the Old Town and Wilanów Royal Palace. That would be quite a walk, more than 10 km, I believe :P
I love Warsaw. My best friend lives there, and I have made many friends. There are many excellent restaurants serving all different kinds of cuisine. The Royal Way --Nowy Swiat--has lots of good restaurants in close proximity.
"Everything is new." It is the same way in South Korea. Everything has been rebuilt since the war. Even in the sites that were within the Pusan Perimeter and were never occupied by the NK Army, I have found they were destroyed by fires and rebuilt within the last 50 years. Mark, From your videos, it appears you love museums. Me? Not so much. But I would love to sit outdoors at a cafe in Warsaw and eat and drink and read my Kindle until the battery died. And get in a little people watching, 'cause the most beautiful women I have seen were Polish.
Thank you . Your channel is very helpful . I am planning to Visit Europe in December . I haven't decided which country yet. What would you recommend me ?
Hay Walters World, you should really make a video on San Francisco and the Bay Area or California in general. That would be great for us native Californians to chew on. Thanks!
2:12 is the "Little Insurgent" statue, and just to explain - the Uprising did not actually feature armed children in combat roles. Though there have been scounts serving as messengers, and a lot of them were KIA, and obviously there have been insurgents enlisted below the age of 18, the scuplture is meant to be symbolic and its creator, Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz, has expressed dismay at the reception of the message.
Planning a trip to Warsaw soon, from what I understand in order to change our cell phones, iPads or and American electronic appliances we will need a power plug adapter and or a voltage converter. Any tips or info on what we need or if we need it at all. Thanks and great videos.
I'm a new subscriber and enjoy your fun and helpful videos! What a great family and love of life! Here's a question for you - any thoughts appreciated in the future! Could you recommend a good camera for US tourists to use in Europe? We just returned from a week's vacation in London and found it near impossible to take great photos. Very few dslr cameras seen, and few locations allowed photos inside. Vs Italy recently we saw huge cameras and lenses everywhere. I'm not that happy with only using my iphone camera but am ready to leave my dslr at home. Could you recommend a good camera choice for travelers want more that phone pics but not to lug around big dslr equipment? Maybe a 5 things you'd love and hate about taking photos in Europe? Thanks!
+Kathy Lindsey we use a don't alpha 6000 I believe is the number. I use it to film my static standing and talking videos. Also if any of the still shots are good it's probably from that camera. Takes great pictures and is relatively small. Jocelyn can put it in her purse. We have an Amazon link in the description of this video if you want to read more about it. I'm on my 3rd one as I've liked them so much.
HEY WALTER! I have a question, could you make a quick video or give advise on how to deal With turbulence/ troublesome flights? It's the ONE thing that really stops me from flying and gets me so nervous. I've just come back from a week in Dubai and the turbulence was awful! It had a bad landing. Since you're a very experienced passenger, I can assume just as great landings how've also had you're share or not so great ones! :)
What I like about Poland? Prices... Everything is so cheap. I know it's not looking the same way for polish, I've heard they don't getting paid much, but still for tourists is great. I've been in neworleans.pl/ It's fun that there is so much night clubs in here and the dance shows are really cheap. I mean I had a lot of beers and 3 dance shows with different, nice dancers and I feel like I spent nothing.
You missed The jewish History Museum of Poland , One of the best in the world. You also missed remants of the Warsaw Ghetto like the only Synagouge that survived the war (Noyzk Shul)
*Your video are very informative and inspired me to travel..but i don't like so many stickers or logo on your videos.. It's kill the beauty of the video and scenes.*
Very unsafe city n pilice respinse is lame I got mugged here the next day I landed here pls be very safe dont carry anything too much keeo your belongings n kids close to u at all times
Most of buildings behind You survived war, There were just like naked walls.. and Royal Castle.. yes it is replica and it looks litlle different in details. Warsaw got hurt especially during uprising when German nazi nation soldiers wipe out most of the city and mass murder hundreds of thousands of Poles.
Not nazi but Germans ( and their ally only about 1700 russians-RONA brygade), yeah in Warsaw are nice museums but we steal waiting on many thousands arts stolen by Germans...greetengs;)
Poland is the best country in the world !

I'm going to Warsaw in 3 days ;) That's awesome. Thank you!
+MES seriously. The national museum was a surprise hit for me. Have fun!
I will definitely visit it! Thanks Mark! ;)
As a person from Warsaw I highly recommend POLIN museum and Warsaw uprising museum. National Museum is a bit boring if you're not into art. Also you can also check Wilanów Palace.
The Uprising Museum was definitely a highlight
And don't miss the poster museum right next to Wilanów Palace :)
Got inspired by this video to book a trip to Poland. So I am going late december after xmas. It's going to be great!really cheap flight, and accommodation despite getting really fancy one.
Mark, while in southern Poland come to Bielsko-Biala, small but beautifull city often called by people Small Vienna :)
As always an engaging video. Love your presentation. Never thought much about visiting Warsaw but after watching this video will probably add to my travel plans for next summer.
Martin Walden :D
Martin Walden Come to Poland friend :D
One thing I learned recently in Lodz was ask the waiting staff to recommend local favourites off the menu. They love sharing the region and not only what u order but little tasters too. The Poles are lovely people despite the Polish expression haha. Great place
Poles are proud of their regions more than from their country.

Awesome, Dude. I never been in Poland, but I would like to visit someday. Old Town, Chopin Museum, nightlife. Pretty exciting.
great video again, thanks! Could you please do more about Spain and Portugal please?
if you think Warsaw is cheap, you're surely not from from Poland :/ for us- it's one of the most expensive cities :/

I am going to erasmus there in a few months

Loved being able to use Uber there. It was so cheap too.
It's funny to watch your films about Poland being Polishwoman
Ah haha, I think it's so funny we both put out Warsaw videos on the same day. Haha.

Would you agree that two full days would be sufficient to cover the major worth visiting places in Krakow?
Mark sounds JUST LIKE Mike Mozart from Jeepers Media
I was there twice in July. Nice city, but the ticket machines for the train are garbage.
When are you going back to Belgium??????
Can you do a video if Kansas?

Central or not but the mentality is deep eastern. Rather to be with their own people than someone else and english skills are horrible
