Fun fact about Thrill Drive is that this game is what inspired Criterion to create Burnout as you can both games share similarities to each other, like the Impact fonts and the indicators of the CPUs and the Checkpoints. Thrill Drive, despite being an arcade racer, educates the player to race safely and avoid crashing into other vehicles as the dark tone and screaming is supposed to make you feel bad about injuring or possibly killing innocent people. Burnout is the complete opposite to where you get rewarded for driving dangerously. It's awesome to see this game being brought up again and more people talking about it! :D
yeah! I actually found the TD1 website on the Wayback Machine and, through google translate, was able to read a Q&A section of the site where fans wrote in questions about the game. It seems the developers were very keen on people trying to NOT crash in the game. Which makes sense given the gravity of things when you do crash in this game or TD2. ...yes you can still crash in TD3 but it's more....arcadey about it. And we don't talk about that OTHER game in the TD series
Awesome video. Funny enough I’ve never heard of it until now.
