I learned more about drums from Yoyoka's video, despite not understanding a word she said, than I could have had a fluent English speaking teacher attempted to teach me. This little lady's a planetary treasure. She's beyond a natural.
I think what we get from these videos is why she plays so good. More than a God given talent and a love to play, she obviously practices these basics a thousand times and dissects them until a full understanding of every aspect. No wonder when she performs a song she can make it seem effortless. Hats off to you Yoyoka, you are a special young lady!

Love the Yoyoka lessons------But can you never fix the subtitles ?????----if they appear at all,they are sub-microscopic !-----why do you keep doing this? WHy can't you make the subs READABLE ????????????
So far I've understood snare,hi hat, cymbal,tom,floor tom,.......love this kid but when she does these tutorial type vids she says so much and would like to know what she is saying...atleast I understand her drumming.
Hello Yoyoka! Have you tried Open-Hand Drumming? My teacher suggested I change to it many years ago, and it is the technique of the future (and the best advice I ever had!). Most people use cross-handed drumming, with the right hand on the hi-hat and left on the snare, but then you develop a strong right hand and a weak left hand. With open-hand drumming you have the left hand on the hi-hat and the right hand on the snare and do not cross over. It is very hard at first, but you get two strong hands with equal ability, you can drum harder and faster, it is better for your spine, and your right hand is free to hit any part of the kit you want. For some open-hand drummers, see Simon Phillips, Gene Hoglan, Billy Cobham, and Dom Famularo.
I think you need to STFU and let this little girl play her way. I got 50 bucks you couldn't follow her playing for 10 minutes. Jimmy Hendrix played a right hand strat upside down, do you have any critical advise for his short commings? It's assholes like you that need to be kept far away from little miricals like Yoyoka.

I watched you play and trust me you are light years away from her talent. She is cute and personable, and talented, you have kankles like Hillary Clinton and less talent than I do and I don't even play drums.

言葉を聞いてると大人がセリフを吹き込んでいるようには思えないですね。自分の言葉で一生懸命に説明しているのが、ほんとにかわいいです。先生！チャーリーワッツくんは、ハイハットの、三拍めを、叩いてないです。けど許してあげて〜。(^^)
自分が感覚的に身に付いていることを、言葉で説明するのは難しいですよね。
たいへん良く理解できました。
ローリングストーンズのチャーリーワッツは三拍目のスネアの時ハイハットが止まってしまいます。
この動画見るべきです。
チャーリーワッツは、スネアを綺麗に鳴らすため、わざと3拍目のハイハットを抜いています。
やってみると結構難しいテクニックです。
