My favorite little nugget that was a premonition into Oliver’s lies was the scene with him and Felix tossing the rock into the river in “memory” of his “dead” Dad. The rock never went into the water which indicates that his Dad was never dead. So good 😭

Mine is Felix’s doppelgänger walking past the window at breakfast when the sister is telling the story about how when your doppelgänger appears then your time is running out.
Or when Ollie bathes after the vampire scene his mouth goes under the water and he’s in almost the same position the sister was found in.

The Saltburn house is in my hometown in the UK, there's houses like that all over the countryside here. I used to go to a lot of them for work reasons, and some of them are genuinely so massive you can get lost in them. Spent plenty of my days wondering around houses exactly like that one and they're all so beautiful and breathtaking.
Film was shot here too, obviously, and it really is a fantastic film.

Watch some of the behind the scenes
Oliver was VERY in love with him.
    V E R Y
He drank the bathwater to be closer to him. To ingest him.
He only killed Felix once he realized the jig was up and there was no hope for them to be together.
Pamela was killed by her abusive husband.
    Not Ollie.
Pamela was living in Saltburn to hide from him.
Once she left he found her and killed her. 😢
Ollie did not have intentions to kill everyone until it was happening.
The tub scene and the grave scene were completely improvised by Barry.
    He’s amazing.

it’s not like Parasyte or The Talented Mr. Ripley because Oliver’s goal didn’t start with Saltburn or economic resentment.

      @lbougie 7 місяців тому +2

Farleigh is by far the most captivating and openly honest character with the correct strike of intuition. Very interesting that Archie Madekwe truly explained about his character, it’s been revealed that he does have a heart of gold after all. His hair, skin, and fashion, his love to his families and friends, his proudness of being black and gay, his singing voice, his angry cries to grieve Felix’s death in the red colored dining room, his powerful monologue at the Midsummer Party, and his discovery of Oliver’s true twisted nature. Love to love his performance so much and even his performances in other films like Gran Turismo.
Can’t wait to explore more about him, then this would lead to a sequel or spin-off.

This movie should have been nominated for a least one Oscar, if not more. Rosamund Pike should be up for Best Supporting Actress, Barry Keoghan for Best Actor, Jacob Elordi for Best Supporting Actor, Archie Madekwe for Best Newcomer, Emerald Fennell for Best Director. The set designer, the cinematography, the costume designer, the music score- so many worthy candidates in so many categories and it's been completely ignored by the Academy. Saltburn is a masterpiece imho.
The end naked "murder on the dancefloor" scene is the reverse route Felix showed him when he first arrived :) You can buy candles of Jacob Elordi's bathwater :P

Also, it is so refreshing to see reactors like you guys that don't have an exaggerated reaction to the "famous disturbing gross scenes" of the movie. I watched the movie after people told me how there were disturbing scenes and when I actually watched the film, I was like??? That's it??? That's what grossed you out or you were screaming about??😅 the bathtub scene I found mostly funny because the slurping sounds were so loud, the vampire scene I honestly thought was kind of hot lol and the grave scene I also couldn't find super gross or disturbing because it was so aestethically pleasing and well shot like the rest of the film. The cinematography of the film is so perfect, just as the music and acting and I just adore this movie. Tbh it annoys me when reactors react overexaggerated to certain scenes, like the "vampire scene" lol, that scene isnt that explicit and honestly just looks aestethically pleasing + I adored Oliver suddenly changing his voice, being in his "Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss" Modus and suddenly acting like a Dom haha.

I was fooled by Felix my first time watching and then watched that interview, then watched the movie again. Felix is almost always being racist, mysogynistic, or at best, just a bad friend. that’s what I love about his character, at first watch you’d think he’s the sweetest person but he, just like his family, use people to benefit themselves. he IS charming, but only because he can afford to be. in the end, Oliver gave him what he wanted, which is a show; Oliver, Farleigh, and Pamela were each slight strings being pulled by members of the family seeking some solace but they pretend to be nice because they’re rich.

Fun note: There is a hint in the very beginning in the music. It is the Coronation Theme for UK Royals since like forever and the words in it were changed for this movie. The original lyrics are "Zadok the Priest and Nathan the prophet". But Emerald Fennell changed it to "Oliver Quick and Nathan the prophet.." She is telling us from the very get go that Oliver is the King. Let me tell you this reaction video is a 10/10.

I saw this in the theater shortly after it came out. Before all the buzz happened. I thought I was going to see a cute gay romance.....so you can imagine how that went lol. I was not prepared for all of this... but I surely enjoyed the gratuitous nudity on the big screen.
Barry Keoghan however is fantastic in this. So talented... I'm not sure another actor could have sold this role the way that he did.

I saw it in theatre and the scenes that made everyone gasp were the bathtub and vampire scene. The grave scene made everyone go “oop”. However the stone scene with Oliver and Felix I started the laughter on that scene, I snickered because it was a little ironic(?) and telling where the stone landed.

I saw this opening day with two other guys besides me in the theater and it was…definitely something lol. I don’t even think anyone was gasping out loud, I just remember whispering to myself like “oh my god”

I had super high expectations for this movie based on the trailer. The first time I saw it I was disappointed in the execution of the twists (the tire reveal, the money reveal, the email reveal, the poisoning reveal). They were good in concept but in my opinion not in execution. In my opinion, at good twist is one that is in plain sight but the viewer doesn't even notice it. It's not something that they viewer has no way of knowing. In other words, if I went back and watched the movie a second time, I should be able to see hits to those twists that were not there, if that makes sense.
All that being said, after seeing it again, I really like it again, in spite of my issues with those twists thanks for Barry Keoghan playing one hell of an effed up villain (which is why I wanted to see it in the first place. He was great in "The Killing Of a Sacred Deer".) And the monologue by Venitia's character before she offs herself is pretty epic and very well acted!

The bathtub and the vampire scenes are two of the most disgusting things I've ever seen. Just the thought of licking a dirty tub or having blood in my mouth makes me wanna puke. I was so looking forward to seeing you react to his dancing scene lmao I really like this movie

First time watching your channel and I enjoyed your comments and reactions. Now for comparison you'll need to watch "Something For Everyone" a dark comedy from 1970 (yes boys I'm that old.) It stars a young Michael York and the fabulous Angela Lansbury as a countess with a castle. Michael covets her castle, wealth and status and soon worms his way into and thru her staff, herself, her daughter and....her son! Dear Michael gets his in the end, so to speak. 😜🌈🏳‍🌈
