It's too bad you guys didn't get the hike on behind Woolsey International Airport, Cathead Bay. Is a beautiful beach, we call it the Caribbean of the Midwest 🤔😎
You just gained a subscriber. After watching you kayak my regular run on yhe Platte River and eat at my favorite local restaurant (Cherry Hut) then I binged watched and caught you doing a favorite day trip.(Fishtown). You really do a great job of showing what an area has to offer. Thanks for sharing the beauty of our area.
Cody, don't miss a chance to go on a charter. my wife Sandy really enjoyed it and I think Kelly would also. They will clean the fish and usualy can flash freeze some. There are many ways Kelly can fix them and their all good.
I'm glad the "black flies" didn't chase you away from your campsite. They are horrible when they swarm and completely cover items and bite! A rule of thumb is to pay attention to which way the wind is blowing, if it blows off the lake, you'll be safe. If the wind blows out of the bush...beware! Can't wait to see where you take us next!
Hi there, just wanted to congratulate you both for your awesome clean inspiring videos. I love the outdoor lifestyle and can't wait to one day live it to the fullest like you guys are doing now. 👍
You need to go to the abandoned historic town of Fayette in the U. P. It's a state park with campgrounds. The town has been preserved from the 1800's. They used to process iron ore and ship it out over Lake Michigan. The cove that it sits on is surrounded with limestone cliffs and the lake has the most turquoise color water. It is breathtaking.
I love all your videos, but I am really enjoying all these videos from Michigan. I have never been and not sure if I ever will make it there. So, thanks for taking us along on the adventure. 👍🏼👍🏼
If you get into the U.P. Curtis has biggest fireworks show in the U.P. on the 3rd of July. The Manistique River around Germfask is great kayaking. Mead creek campground is on the Manistique river. If you go to Fayette Historical park walk the trail to Burnt Bluff and see the pictographs. The U.P. is Michigan's better half. With price of gas it's keeping most at home it's not as busy. Get you a book on waterfalls there are many many waterfalls in the U.P. We went swimming at lower falls at Tahquamenon falls. If you have means go to Isle Royal National Park. Nations least visited national park, but most revisited. The water at Lake Superior is usually so clear. Drummond Island has great trails and good 4x4ing. The Steps at Marble Head are iconic 4x4 spot. We have property in the Central U.P. Chapel rock and waterfall is worth the hike. Get there early because of parking. Camping in the Porcupine Mtns. is well worth the drive.
I LOVED ALL YOUR VIDEOS BUT it’s exciting to see you travel outside your comfort zone! I find the best experiences are those outside MY comfort zone! Safe travels and thank you for taking us along👏
Did you do any rock hunting at Christmas Cove ? -- that beach has a rare special stone among those smoothed rocks called Petosky Stones -- they are fossilized coral and stand out because they look like you would think -- coral swirleys. and if you ever return -- take a black-light -- (GLOWING Minerals stuck in rocks called) Yooperlite stones are known to be found in that neighborhood too. --
You guys are awesome, you've done a wonderful job highlighting Northern Michigan....Not sure how long you're in town (and I'm sure your plate is full) but the Cherry Bowl Drive-In theater in Honor is super cool... Awesome video thanks for posting... ✌️
We weren't as far north as you but pretty far up there. Yes, we had pollen issues the last week we went camping. All over everything. The rain washed ours off too.
I'm loving your Michigan trip . The Fish town reminded me of New England . Very nice view at the Cove. To me the branches of the tree also looked like the tusk of an elephant. Relaxing on the beach was a perfect way to enjoy a summer's day. I like the smooth look of the beach rocks.
How unique I would have spent hours going every shop spending my money. Cheese shop is one i would have gone in love my cheese. Those ice creams looked yummy. What a awesome view from where you had tea. Which also looked amazing your camping spot looks fantastic. Had to stop watching your video as I got the Mother of all cramps, it's a wonder you couldn't hear me screaming. Getting old is no fun if getting cramps like this is a part of it. It's a daily thing of late. Someone said eat more salt, hasn't helped. I'm going on for 71. I think I've realised why i love your videos as i would have loved doing what you do. So I'm living vicariously through you both. And the Nomadic Movement lol Lynne Victoria Australia 🐨🇦🇺💚

You're in cherry counrty!!! Get some chocolate covered cherries! Also check out Torch Lake north of Elk Rapids on hwy 31. Great little park access at Eastport. Great Lakes chips are the best we've eaten!!!
Wow😍this place was so beautiful. I am keeping my fingers crossed that you are going to Mackinac Island🤞I've always wanted to go. I have also always been fascinated by lighthouses so thank you SO much for sharing.
Blackflies always are bad in June in the upper lower and (upper peninsula). Depending on which way the wind is blowing. June is the worst time to visit Michigan Blackflies. We found that August is the best 2nd to 3rd week of August lower or upper awesome. Enjoy you guys. Yooper forever! 🤙🏼
I have lots of family in Michigan! I’ve been to Traverse City my cousin lives there. I grew up going to Caseville MI which is on Lake Huron. It’s my paradise! I LOVE THIS CHANNEL. I’m addicted to it! What an awesome life you all live!
Glad you found Christmas Cove beach, the locals in Suttons Bay told us about it many years ago as its great for rock hounds and just relaxing and nobody is ever there.
Another great vlog! Such a historical place there in Fish Town. Quite cool! Enjoyed another lighthouse tour! Onwards and upwards! Safe travels till next time! I'll wait here to see u there!🌞
You made it to Leland and Fishtown. 60 years ago it was just starting to become a tourist destination. My best friend’s mother worked in a little “Hippie” boutique on the river. Some days we go with her and have the run of the town fishing swimming eating smoked fish and just being a little boys. My sisters worked as servers at the Falling Waters that became the Cove. I also have pictures of the white cedar you took pictures at. While you were at the lighthouse looking out across the lake did you see South Fox Island. I crossed that channel in my 16’ sailboat when I was 17. Started by where you ate at the Jolly Pumpkin sailed to South Fox to spend the night. On a day like the one you were there the waves in the channel could be up to 6’. What a ride. Didn’t find any Petoskey stones at Christmas Cove to bad. Sounds like your heading to the “Island” you’ll love it and the UP. Be sure to go Picture Rocks a totally different type of lakeshore. If the water is calm you’ll love the kayaking but the water will only be about 42 degrees. Thank you.
Leland is also the town where you take the ferry to North and South Manitou Islands. The islands used to be inhabited with towns but the National Parks bought both islands and tore the towns down. You can backpack each island of which I have done both islands. You are in a great place in Michigan.
The coolest thing to me about you guys posting videos of your travels within Michigan is seeing everything in this season! I went to almost all the same areas as you guys back when it was still snowing. Seeing it all green and what have you is very cool! (I do have videos on my channel if anyone is interested to see what it looks like when it's snowy/ Lake Michigan with ice. ) I wish I could remember where it is is exactly, but last summer we went to the U.P and stumbled across what appeared to be free camping on a beach. It was absolutely pretty! I don't remember where exactly it is, but we found it when we were driving to the Mouth of the Huron. Anywho! Excited that you guys are enjoying Michigan! Truly is such a beautiful state! Especially the U.P!
I'm sure I've mentioned this before but here goes! If you spray permethrin on your clothing it will repel any insects, ticks, biting flies etc. You can get Sawyers unscented permethrin at REI, Walmart etc. in a spray bottle. One application will stay on your clothing through several washings. And most of all don't forget to eat some walleye and perch best fresh water fish in the world and REALLY fun to catch!!
I been watching you guys for a year now and enjoy your videos. So glad to see your next door to me. I'm in Wisconsin lake Winnebago Fox City's. About 45 miles from Green Bay. Keep the shows coming. Good camping in the Waupaca Wisconsin area.
Just before Cody started to say how much of a clean freak you are Kelly, I was wondering as I watched you unpack, have you always been that organized? And I’m always amazed that you seem to eat just as much as Cody-not judging -just admiring your appetite 🤗
Hi! If you haven’t planned to stay at Rifle River Recreation (state camp ground) it’s must! It’s over 4,000 acres with hiking and bike paths and fishing. There are rustic and non rustic sites. We just got back after 5 days and we loved it! 🙃
Great video! Fishtown looks so cool...I love historical towns. Kelli I'm a neat freak too even when camping. Biting flies suck! There was one afternoon they were really bad at our campsite this past weekend. -Hedy
Michigan is now on my wish list to go camping, and we really hadn’t thought much about it until your video! Maybe those biting flies would be gone in the Fall timeframe. They show up in October for us living on the Florida panhandle. Kelly, that breakfast looks absolutely yummy as always, and that pollen drives me crazy too. My home state of Georgia was notorious for that, but it is also very beautiful with all of the trees and lakes. (BTW, Fall and winter are the perfect seasons to camp in Georgia since it rarely gets cold. Summer is brutal with the humidity). Y’all do such a great job of highlighting each area you visit. Thanks for educating us along your journey. Cody, your love of history really shows in each of your tours! Thanks for another solid video guys!
I started following your channel about when you got to Mackinac Island. I just found this video. I'm originally from Cedar, MI and you went to all my favorite places. But you missed out on the best sandwich at Cheese shack in Leland. BUT you did go to may absolute favorite beech, Christmas Cove. Someone should have told you about finding your own Petoskey stones... lots at that beech. Michigan is second in the country in agricultural... so stop back again and hit the mom and pop shops! Traverse Area is a epic culinary area. Cherries are delightful, I hope you managed to get some fresh ones. I've enjoyed watching Kelly prep meals at camp, good job+
Michigan is gorgeous! And you 2 are awesome to watch. Wish you guys could come see my State of West Virginia Some Really Great parks and such here ! And then you have the New River, I'm from Ohio and ended up here in 1982 after i got out of the Army , Love this state
I am SO happy that you are seeing so much of our gorgeous state! And now I am SO excited to think you may be going to Pictured Rocks!! We have 80 acres of trees in the middle of the Manistee Natl Forest, stop by any time!!!! Enjoy 😁
Michigan. My birthplace has wonderful camping. Likewise should you go to upper peninsula try going doing thru Wisconsin to DOOR COUNTY all out thru that peninsula of door county ar lots of fishing villages. Should also be close to cherry picking time. We loved Door county Wisconsin
I’ve been watching your content for over a year now, and I’m so excited you are visiting the Great Lakes!! I’m loving your Michigan videos. I’m from Wisconsin and grew up camping in WI. I hope you visit Mackinac Island. Camping at Porcupine Mountains - at Presque Isle is so nice. Amazing hiking - Lake of the Clouds is a must see. Pictured Rocks is too. If you are coming to Wisconsin, Apostle Islands are amazing. My favorite campground in the state is Peninsula State Park in Door County. So much fun stuff to do in Door County and lots of wineries. Another beautiful park for camping and hiking is Governor Dodge near Madison, was just there a couple of weeks ago. The National forest campgrounds in Northern Wisconsin are remote and pretty if you are looking for wilderness. Lost Lake in Florence WI is a favorite. Boulder Lake near Wabeno is another nice National forest campground.
We have had some warmer days here in Michigan which sucks. But Michigan weather can change in a second. The nights have been nice and cool even after warm days... Black flies come and go each year. Hate them.
When I was a kid living in Ohio, our summer vacations were camping trips to State Parks. UP of Michigan was our favorite place to camp! It is beautiful there! The water is so clear! Warm days and cool nights...even in July! Favorite spots to check out, just north of where you are now, is Petoskey and Little Traverse Bay.....then go a bit east and check out Indian River and just to the north of Indian River are two lakes with beautiful state parks, Burk Lake and Mullett Lake! Of course Mackinac Island is a must see....it’s truly beautiful! I hope you get the opportunity to check out these favorite and memorable places! I am following along and look forward to seeing y’all on the other..... I live in Texas now and haven’t been to upper Michigan since the 60’s when I was a kid! Enjoy your stay in the UP of Michigan! Love y’all! Stay safe! ☮️♥️
Great Video !! Loved the quaint fishing village and how the locals preserved it's history. The stoves in the lighthouse were awesome as the lighthouse, itself. Thanks for sharing this !! Safe Travels. 🙂 Sincerely, Shay's Ways
I really laughed when you pointed out that the Leland Welcome Center was closed. I am loving your travels so far this summer. This part of the country is so completely different from what I am used to in the West. Everything is so green and so many trees! So much water! Lakes, streams. I would not do well with all the bugs since they love me. Did those biting flies get you?
Lovely fishing village. Reminds me of the fishing villages in New England where I lived for a few years, on the Atlantic Ocean, with clam chowder and lobster galore! Nice state parks you're camping at. Has anyone mentioned the agate stones you can pick when walking along Lake Michigan? They're found mainly in the UP (Upper Peninsula). They're semi precious stones, very colorful and smooth. You can make jewelry out of them and they're free for the taking. Temps here in Wisconsin sound like what you're having up there. It was in the 60's by the Lake today and a few miles inland in the 80's. Enjoy your great vaykay here in north country!
Ha ha Don't gain a pd that was a very narrow opening love all the interior rooms thanks my kind of obsession with the old furniture, rasins yum my favorite eat half way healthy i don't like mustard but I would eat this one Cody your 😂😂
Hey ya'll. New sub here. Watched your Buffalo River video. Found it to be way cool. Also watched the videos where your home was stolen. That was very intreging how you all over came that and rebuilt. What a way to go... Great you didn't give-up. So I decided to subscribe. Thumbs-up =-)
Thank you for your videos y’all take me places I can know longer go. I love the lighthouse shots of the water. I miss the woods most of all I try to get out in nature as much as possible.
Great video, love these little stops and shops.my mother in law introduced me to turkey sandwiches with hot pepper cheese, now I cant eat them without it.now need to try them with honey mustard! Always upping the game! Thanks
If in the U.P check out Bay View campground. Only 25 sites our favorite campground dry camping only no hookups . Right on lake superior very nice ! Have 1st come 1st serve sites as well i think half are
Great episode guys!!! Just also wanted to add that those are my favorite potato chips ever Right down to the barbecue flavor 👍👍. Greetings from Chicago and ATB Mike. Keep on Doming!!🎉
I was definitely thinking tusks when you asked about the cedar branches. I’ve always wanted to stay overnight in a lighthouse, so Ive explored opportunities to do so. Turns out there are several lighthouses on the east coast that are setup like BnBs or that take reservations, but none I could find that permit dogs. :-( That’s a bummer, but still super cool. Perhaps you could make arrangements to stay in one while on your east coast trip so you can show us what it’s like?
You forgot to put cheese on your muffins, unless you don’t like cheese your breakfast looked delicious..omg I would love to live in that lite house..the view is just awesome..you don’t use mayo it looks good but dry
Glad you're enjoying our neighborhood, we live in the booming metropolises of Northport 😎
It's too bad you guys didn't get the hike on behind Woolsey International Airport, Cathead Bay. Is a beautiful beach, we call it the Caribbean of the Midwest 🤔😎

Didn't want this video to end. Love Michigan! Love that you showed me a piece of it! Can't wait till the next one happy trails
That water is as clear as Lake Ouachita, very cool place. Thanks for another great vlog
What a cute, cute, cute town! Love it!

It's a daily thing of late. Someone said eat more salt, hasn't helped. I'm going on for 71. I think I've realised why i love your videos as i would have loved doing what you do. So I'm living vicariously through you both. And the Nomadic Movement lol

That place is beautiful!
If you're going east from Michigan, you may want to look into the EZ Pass for tolls. You just mount it on your windshield, and it works in every state from Illinois on east. The toll roads are cheaper with the EZ pass, and most of the eastern states only have electronic tolls. My wife and I went to Maine from IL last month and the EZ Pass was the thing we were most grateful for. Just a heads up: once you're on a toll road, stay on it, and only use the Service centers, because you'll be charged for entry and exit, and re-entry except for the oasis/service centers
We enjoyed this video….it was good to see you in that environment! What a beautiful winery.

I'm the same with being clean. I'm not overboard about it but totally agree with how Kelly feels.
Let me say it again….this was a great video! Video and music…..very nice!
Love that top with the daisy pocket on it. Looks great on you and it is darling.
Glad you found Christmas Cove beach, the locals in Suttons Bay told us about it many years ago as its great for rock hounds and just relaxing and nobody is ever there.

Thank you for such a great overview thus far of Michigan. It is an area that has been on our radar for some time.

Really liked that video very awesome place camping area and fish town.
Loved this vlog! Glad you are having so much fun!!
If you go north across bridge, try a Potato Pierogi for a snack. Mackinac Island is a great place to spend a hole day.
Woke up this morning and found you had posted a new video, made my day 🤗❤️🤗❤️🫠❤️👍
Loved the light tour. Thx

I hope y’all are going to Mackinac Island!! 😀👍🏻
You both are Amazing :)
Thanks for showing us this Fish Town what a beautiful place. Instead if those incense just get a ThermaCell really repels mosquito. Enjoy!
I am so glad you guys are loving Michigan. Heading there in a few weeks, we have family in Holland. Can’t wait! Have fun guys. Awesome videos
Hope you visit "Door" county Wisconsin. Wbich is a peninsula into the west side of Lake Michigan. Love that area
I always tell people that they have to visit Leland

Great scenery at the Cove for dinner, have to ask you buy any cheese ? I know you like your cheese, hopefully you won't perish from the Flys LOL
You forgot to put cheese on your muffins, unless you don’t like cheese your breakfast looked delicious..omg I would love to live in that lite house..the view is just awesome..you don’t use mayo it looks good but dry
hey AP did you know that a lot of the lakes up there all have something like a Nessy check out to see what lake creature is in there
