This is what I’m tuned in for: the deep dives into the obscure and forgotten back-markers. I was a kid who loved these teams, so it’s nice to see them getting their shine through your series.
Love your goofy intro for this series 😂❤
"They were, THE FEILD FILLERS!"
WE ARE SOOO BACK
THEY WERE THE FIELD FILLERS
Got an extra day off today, and I'm treated with a new "Field Fillers" episode. What a time to be alive.
I met Carl Long in the pits of Dover in 2014, I told him I was happy to see him racing still, he said "Most people my age are pushing daisies", a real 1/1, someone who embodies the spirit of NASCAR that the organizing body seems to want to forget.
NASCAR sure as hell wouldn’t have given Hendrick or Gibbs a penalty that big, that’s all I can say.
This series gives you a greater sense and love for those who filled the field. And Carl Long and MBM has to be my favorite underfunded team.
And sounds like MBM is going to give the old Mustang Next Gen car one last ride at COTA, and I'm all for it.
That transition to the intro was amazing
Carl Long is a great driver and very experienced. I remember him when he drove the #46 Car for the Cup Series and the Nationwide Series and the #00 McGlynn Car. I remember him when he drove for several start and park teams. He may have wrecked a lot in qualifying over the years but that’s bad luck and he is one of those drivers that wants to race and back then wanted to qualify in races. Carl is just a never give up driver but he had some good luck for start and parks.
Me always being a fan of the field fillers and or the underdogs of the sport this is my favorite series. I love all theses videos and it brings back some memories
1: Field Filler Stone
2: Chamber of Shelmerdine
3: Prisoner of Arnold
4: Goblet of Phoenix
5: Order of Shepherd
6: Half Blood Hover
7: Deathly Long
8: Fantastic Belmonts and Where To Find Them
9: Crimes of SCORE
10: Secrets of Mach 1
I enjoyed this little add on. I really hope that when you finish the Cup field fillers you move onto the Xfinity and trucks, kind of like how this one dove into those series. I think there are going to be tons of fascinating stories to be found there, and thanks to those series staying away from the charters, small market 'field filler' teams still exist there to this day. Endless content!
Awesome! We get the proper conclusion to Carl Long. Can't wait to see where RotFF goes from here.
Been following Carl Long since the 2016 Daytona race. He's very open about the cost of racing in NASCAR.
It's a shame that most people rip on these guys for riding in the back of the pack. Seeing the inside of the this is fascinating, and brings forth a deeper appreciation and affinity for these stalwarts of the sport.
Babe wake up. Brock beard just uploaded another banger
Love your NASCAR history videos. I wish NASCAR wasn’t killing its own product unfortunately
Genuinely make my weekend every single time these videos come out. Your research and dedication is unparalleled, man. Huge respect, hope you keep up the good work bro!
Ware's first DNQ came at Sears Point in 1998, as an owner-driver in the #70. Thanks to that attempt, I ended up putting him in Lorne Roth's #70 car for NASCAR Racing 1.
What we all needed this morning
This is the stuff I love. We know the top of the field. Drivers like Carl are what’s right with Motorsports.
Great video! I've been a Long Shot fan for a long time.
I had not heard of thse that passed in the helicopter crash. Thanks for sharing. RIP
My favorite UA-cam series. Keep up the good work. Bug fans here in New Hampshire
My favorite series with my favorite field filler driver. I’d love to see a MBM Motorsports documentary. My favorite team in NASCAR right now for their blue collar way of doing things. Thanks for these great shows. If you get a Patreon or a buy me a coffee link I’d be happy to contribute for more of these underdog teams documentaries.
Thank you - I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I do have more episodes in the works, too. If you're interested in supporting my work, I do have a Patreon at patreon.com/lastcaronbrock
I'm loving this series.
I've been longing for a new episode of ROTFF and it's well worth the wait!
As always, I love it so much. Keep up the great work, sir.^^
Brock the best part of your intro is EACH NEW 2004
Thank you for this
8:42 if you look at MBM cars today you’ll still see Millennium Jet Card
Great video as always Brock.
I meant to ask whatever happened to the Koma unwind beverage brand? They were obviously very invested in the sport. I enjoyed their product. Then they just vanished and the product was no longer avaliable. Yet they still sponsored a NASCAR modified for many years.
I'm confused. You mentioned the 68 car was going to run the COT races. Who drove that car? It couldn't of been Carl Long as he never paid the fine. Or did that happen before the "big engine"?
Also how did Partee get back into racing after nearly dying so quickly? I'd imagine there was a lot of medical bills, plus how could he have been working esp with the foot surgery? ANy reason why he isn't partnering back up with Long?
1) I can see the confusion - this was the XFINITY CoT, not the Cup version, which debuted in July 2010
2) Partee's recovery did take a long time as he described, and the 2020 cancellation of the Glen race let him finish healing. Even then, he acted as car owner, not driver, in his 2021 return.
Is MBM looking for drivers? I’d be completely interested in helping them out anyway I can
21:17 Has NASCAR reinstated Derek White?
I haven't heard, and unfortunately I didn't know of his case being overturned at the time I interviewed Carl. I do know that White has produced a radio program on his experiences called "Running Smoke."
Ah so that's the team featured in that Charlotte Nationwide incident happened...
21:12 I never knew that. I wonder if he was ever reinstated. If he has, I don't remember it.

What is a car loan have mcclaskey adult center in Sacramento on his hood of the number 66 Nationwide car
I’m going to be sad when this series finally ends. This has to be one of the best on UA-cam.
Thank you. I'm happy to say this is not at all the last episode. Work on the next one has already begun.
