This opening session of the United Muslim Conference in Orlando, Florida deals with the mission statement of the Muslim ummah. Imam Siraj, drawing this statement from the Holy Qur'an, sets the tone for the conference by challenging the audience to understand and appreciate this mission while striving wholeheartedly to fulfill it. As bearers of the true message, do we really understand what Allah expects of us? Do we understand our role in society as a "balanced and just nation"? And are we ready and willing to follow the explicit commands laid out for us in the Qur'an? In one of the imam's most compelling lectures, he answers these pressing questions and urges the audience to fulfill their roles of being witnesses for all of humanity. Other topics discussed: the change of the kiblah, Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, how to combat misrepresentations of Islam, the selling of alcohol by Muslims, calling ourselves "sunni" Muslims, being a confident Muslim, leadership, unity, hijab, and having the right spirit of Islam in da'wah. If Compassion is your Mission then you are eligible for cooperation and coexistence in the respect of freedom and reciprocity. Siraj Wahhaj is an asset for the Muslim Community. If the Mission is Compassion the Muslim Community cannot avoid the issue of unsuitability of Theocracy in Free Societies. Freedom means also risk of abuse but true cooperation of compassion can keep society in balance. The "Pilgrim Fathers" reformed Christian Theocracy by Grace and Freedom consistently with the Gospel.
Islam needs to be reformed in the same way. Dawah for the sake of Sharia is not compatible with the Message of Compassion and Freedom.
If you talk consistent words of Grace then Christendom is ready to listen and appreciate.
