If we assume A = X And B will become B = (18 - x)......... Let it be equation 1
And acording to a diagram 12 become a Perpendicular and A {A=X} will become Base and B ( B= 18 - x) will be a hypotenuse
SOLUTION
(18-x)² =12²+x²
324+x²-36x = 144 +x²
324-144+x²-36x = x²
180-36x =x²-x²
180 -36x = 0
180 = 36x
180/36 = x
5 = x
Put the value of X in equation 1
=18 - x
=18 - 5
= 13
So, A = 5
and B = 13 ANSWER

in ques 6 at 1:18:45 we have a simple method also which takes only 5sec and that is 13 and 5 are the pythagorean thriplet of 12 so answer will b 13,5 . these are the analysis trick for competitive exam which saves much of your time and speed mainly increase by how you analyse the question
