I believe it would be better. A lot of years have passed, and she has done a lot since, mostly theatre from what I can tell, and with experience comes more confidence.
When we talk of "Chemistry" we are talking about how two actors respond to the other. As I said down below I think myself that the actress playing 'Hanna' was under-playing it, it can come over as a little stiff on the screen but her performance seems to be based on Hanna being repressed emotionally and someone who keeps everything inside. There's a line at the start of chapter #59 where Carla spells it out "Hanna doesn't discuss her feelings much.", whereas Carla is the opposite. Hanna _is_ the stronger of the two, breaking up with Lars Schneider once she finally accepts her love of Carla, and is then unafraid to be open and honest about her new relationship with Carla. While Carla, again, is then the opposite... afraid that any intimacy in public will be the absolute ruin of her. It's a strange irony between the two.

Hanna as a character went wrong. Somewhere after the halfway point she stops developing. She stops growing. Caught in-between the ongoing campaign of abuse from Lars Schneider, and on the other side Carla's controlling nature and need for secrecy she stopped being Carla's equal and became something to be kept in her place and trapped in another closet. It's tragic to watch. And on a more personal level I can imagine how very frustrating that lack of respect was for the actress, as this soap does have a terrible attitude towards its female cast of characters.
But yeah - If you offered her a bag of money to come back, and a little more freedom, I believe she would be excellent. The chemistry I think comes from the two as 'Hanna' forces Claudia Hierche to really step up and meet her own level of performance. If you have a professional, and very serious, actress like 'Hanna' against you you do have to make the effort and meet that level. Claudia Hierche _is_ wonderful, but she does need to be challenged, and thereby complemented, on the screen... otherwise she stops giving it her best. If you had Hanna come back for an appearance as you suggest, then it would prove my point, with an actress as strong as this Hierche would have to put the effort in and meet her. She brings out the best in Claudia Hierche I think, and that's why their chemistry is so good on the screen. An older 'Hanna' would probobly take it to the next level for the two:

It probobly does I agree, though it does depend on what the overall aims of this series were. I don't need (or want) an intense sexual relationship that borders on being exploitative television, enjoyed by dirty old men. What I do appreciate more is the emotional side of it and the amazing chemistry between between these two - I would suggest that a reason they work so well and are so memorable is down to the fact that the actress playing 'Hanna' _does_ underplay it, it isn't the fantasy romance of Carla and Stella, this world with Hanna and Carla is far more grounded and relatable than _that_ glossy overdone 'super-soap' world.
I hardly know a thing about these two, or even this soap, but from what I do see in the occasional you-tube feeds that come into my recommended list is that the actress who plays Hanna is theatre trained, she comes from theatre. And that makes a big difference to the performances as unlike 'Stella' she hasn't walked in from a modelling agency, she is a professional actress who works on plays, and comes from a background that requires her to create a character and go 'all-in' with that character. I would suggest that her discipline and restraint helped Claudia Hierche's performance too, as she helped her to find just the right level to play the character of Carla Von Lahnstein. A more thoughtful and grounded performance from Claudie Hierche than some of what I saw of her in later years. 'Hanna' was a good influence on her as an actress, which is why the chemistry between these two still stands out from the rest, and by a wide margin for me.
Having said that I do see something change around this point in the story above, as she doesn't seem to be very happy from this point on. Is this where she knew she was going? Maybe. But it isn't just that, I see the writing decline as well. I will praise the first half of the Hanna/Carla story to the hilt, there is some excellent and very thoughtful work from both the writers and the two actresses. But as we get to this point here the writing just doesn't seem to know what it wants to do. They don't appear to have put real thought into how they are writing her out of the series, and you can see them changing their plans and making poor decisions as you watch on from this chapter up above here....
Seems to me that the kissing chemistry is a bit lacking at times. Carla is utterly convincing but Hanna often seems to be uncommitted . . . NIna and Erika, the previous (first) sapphic VL couple were stronger on kissing imv. Carla and Susanne too I thought. Otherwise Carla and Hanna are really good together. Rebecca and Marlene were a terrific couple but again the kissing chemistry was a bit lacking - on Rebecca's side, unfortunately. Other sapphic couples have done it well, including Mariah and Tessa on TYATR and Charity and Vanessa in Emmerdale. Straight couples in VL don't hold back so it's surprising to see lower levels of commitment by Hanna and Rebecca . . Great romances all the same. Spoiler alert: Except for the unhappy endings in some cases on VL.
