That later year 450s are geared shorter for tracks, 2008 DS450x hits 75mph.
You should bring that new quad to braydons new track

It’s geared really low, a larger front or smaller rear sprocket will help you with top end speed

@@116PhantomGaming Its a pit bike track and it serves its purpose for that but its wayyyyy to small for quads, you couldn't even drift around the corners because their so tight nor could you hit a jump becuase their too short
Ds 450 is the most expensive race bike to rebuild
My ds 450 top end rebuild was 2.8k$$

I’ve always been a sport quad rider watching y’all ride mud quads but I’ll give ya a tip always clean ur air filter after every ride no need to buy a new one jus clean it every ride so u don’t ruin ur valves those things aren’t cheap to rebuild actually a ds450 is the most expensive 450 to rebuild lol
This is why I like my 400ex.. No coolant needed. Air cooled! Easy and simple, no fans. No check engine lights either, a lot less to break. But not as fast as a 450

It’s a sport quad, they are made for racing and being fast at the low end. They aren’t made for top speed runs. Also check engine flashing on anything means stop you just cooked the motor

Mine had different sprockets and it never hit rev limiter like that and topped out in the low 90s
Bro you bike is geared for rapping tracks. That thing is a track killing machine. Like you said just needs smaller rear sprocket. But take it to the dealer and tell them what you wanna do and they will hook you up. Sweet bike man can’t wait for the content on this bike!!

Great vid, the quad is fricken fast though! I was surprised on what the top speed was great video man.
Sport quads are meant to get up to 60 fast not have a high top speed because on a track or trails your not going above 60 usually.
Did you look into the ktm 525 XC? Is the same type of quad but with 75 more cc’s

I’ve got a 08 ds450 it’s got a exhaust and intake and it does 75 and I left off could probably do more…why is mine so fast compared to other even though it’s pretty stock?
That thing looks pretty beat for only 6 rides and 15 hours. I don't think the previous owner was very honest
It would help you doing wheelies if you keep one finger on the clutch most of the time and use it a little more

If you think that the 450 is a fast quad then you should try and ride a can am 650 ds Baja. I have a 04 650 that is a absolute beast

Bro. Invest in some alligator clips for the ends of your wires. Also, you can grab a multimeter and check the wiring coming from the relay and fuse. I know your fan is bad, but checking to make sure it’s got 12 volts coming to it would verify it’s just the fan and not something else also.
Bad idea they cost way more to get fixed .. I have an 08 i bought brand new .. I road it hard 3 1/2 years before it gave me problems. Which were my fault for not taking care of my quad. I did change rear sprocket to a 36 or 38 tooth. ...band use to get 75 - 78 depending on weather and road . but definitely fast through 5 gears.
Either the fuse blown or the fan motor gone out.

Yeah definitely needs new gears mine dose 75 and thats was not even toped out i got a 14 front and 37 in the back but very small rear tires. Mine aslo has a few small mods like pine wire cut and c&n air filter

If check engine is flashing count how many times it blinks and then look up codes and it will tell u exactly what’s wrong with it bro👏🏼😎

Yeah... hmm a FLASHING check engine light, lets just keep riding, cant believe this guy lol but blames the quad for overheating. First thing you should check when you buy a quad is if the rad kicks on, don’t have to be a mechanic to know that.
60 MPH for a 450 that is 2015 model, thats really good. Shoulb be beyond happy
Also are you using all 5 gears seems kinda like you used 4
You should buy a aftermarket air intake and a ecu that works with that quad and a better exhaust I guarantee it will be much faster
Not tryna tell you how to ride but I ride sports quads shift a little sooner but besides that

Change the sprocket setup and you will get more top end. Its probably setup for track racing.

Good tip those are racing quads just like 450 dirtbikes so you can't let them sit and idle they will overheat it 2 minutes they need to be ridden hard get engine ice coolant thats what I had to put in my brand new Honda

mine did the same thing. its defenetly overheating. manual showed that the check engine light shows many things. engine failiure, electrical failiure and overheating.
You need like 2 or 3 inch bigger tires for the back

To be honest, you don’t really need to going past 65 mph on a sport quad. They don’t have the same stability or maneuverability as a 2 wheeled motorcycle. They are geared to get up to speed quickly but top out because you never reach high speeds during racing or on trails. It’s not a bad thing. 60mph on a quad kinda feels like 100 anyway.
Put a smaller sprocket in the back you can get every bit of 80 mph out of that quad

If the fan isn’t running it might be that the fuse for the fan is bad
He hot wired it directly to the battery.
@@jbw5485 yea I was just saying incase he wired it wrong then it might be the fuse because on my quad the fan wasn’t working and I replaced the fuse and it started working

I hade a sport quad 06 trx450er and the top speed on it was 115km and the crf250r dirt bike that I hade what 130km
Rule of thumb. When buying a used bike. Check everything!!!!!!!! First before riding .

I have a 2014 trx400x bored to a 440 and it goes 87mph
400ex is the way to go for reliability. Had mine 6 years. No issues. Ride it hard too. Just typing stuff like oil changes and bushings, chain.
