- EDIT: The car has sold for a cool $700!

The time has come to sell my lovely 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt. My first car has taken me all over the place, never given me a flat tire or broken down on me, she's always been there for me.
The car is only up on eBay for 7 days so if the video made you laugh, smile, or just a gentle exhale out your nostrils, it would really be appreciated if you liked and shared this video, let's find Carmen a new owner!!
I knew I wanted to do a video like this ever since I got the car back in 2013 and am so proud/stoked to share it with all of you. Lots of laughs were shared creating this.
The eBay ad can be found here, www.ebay.ca/it...

This is my superbly average 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt, Carmen. If you have no intentions of ever getting laid again, buy this car now… and start driving it. Carmen, boasts some remarkable features, an off colour driver’s door handle, left and right turn signals that work. Not that you’ll ever use them, nobody ever does. You’ll be thrilled with after-market front speakers and radio system because 17 year old me thought that was a smart decision. This old girl has a hefty 230,000 kilometres on her, but runs like the wind. Speaking of the wind, that’s the closest thing you’ll get to air conditioning, but you will get to roll down the windows, because, you love the challenge.
-
“Hi could I get a small coffee, 2 milk 1 sugar please?”
“Is that everything?”
“Yeah, that’s everything”
“$1.60 at the window.”
“Thanks”
“Hello, sorry the window doesn’t work. Thanks man, sorry, thank you.”
-
Under the hood you’ll find a 2.2 litre eco-tech, engine paired with a 5 speed manual transmission. When you drive at night, a gorgeous orange glow illuminates the dash wonderfully, constantly reminding you that this car is a piece of garbage. Even though this car is a joke, the ad is not. Starting at $799. That’s seven hundred and ninety nine dollars, not seven dollars and ninety nine cents, although that seems reasonable.
Well done !! I happen to work in commercial production and I'd say that is a very well executed ad. And your voice over guy is great. Hope you sell Carmen Cobalt and have a great time in NZ.
Thanks so much, that means a lot. Everything came together wonderfully.
As a former Cobalt owner, this speaks to me
We're all in this together!
I turned my colbalt into a race car for a 13 year old
Honestly the most relatable video ive ever seen. 2006 cobalt owner here. Every one of these situations has happened to me. I was actually in tears watching this.😂
If this does not win an ad award, then there is no justice left in the world.
Appreciate it!
Man I’ve got the 06 Cobalt SS 2.0 SC and that baby is so reliable. Been all over the country, cold weather, hot weather, humid, dry, stormy, snowy, etc., and it keeps going. Guns smoothly and gets me 30 mpg on the highway.
I love my 2009 cobalt LS because it's the first car I bought ❤
Great add...extremely well done, and hilarious! Glad it helped you sell your POS!
It definitely did, thanks!
$7.99? Is there financing available?
I'll trade it for three Mcdoubles
Lmao when they show the engine light I can totally Relate
I can’t believe this video only has 59k views. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Much appreciated man!
I’ve never been more attacked in my life😂😂😭😭
as someone who drives the 07 model of this car this is extremely relatable and I'm dead 💀
Happy lot's of people can relate
I have a 2006 chevy cobalt, I absolutely love it . That car that u had was probably a lemon
I like the car, even though it has given me problems. You're right, probably a lemon.
@@Reidzandbelt thanks for taking the time to reply back. Very Funny video well put together
We owned two G5s around the same year and this ad really made me lol. They were both similiar pieces of GM garbage that gave us nothing but grief and we couldn't wait to unload. Great job on the commercial - absolutely priceless!
You can relate to the struggle. Thanks so much!
I have an 07 cobalt and honestly it's still running great I love it I took it out on the road from El paso to Houston and it did an amazing job
Lucky you must've got a good one. I liked the car but constantly had stuff breaking down on it
My husband and I both had Cobalts and I absolutely love this!!!!
Glad you relate! Thanks!!
I just felt the urge to like this video, the guy and of course the car.
Just watched this on the news. The video has 2.3k views right now. I'll be 10 times more tomorrow you heard it first here!
Ahah thank you Juan!
This reminds me so much of my 2008 cobalt. I love this 😂
I'm happy so many people can relate. Thanks a lot!!
Laughed my ass off! Epic!
Glad you liked it !!
The part where the camera zooms in on the radio was great lol.
Glad you liked it!!
Omg this is awesome, nearly died watching it. Bravo and good luck with your big move!
Thanks so much!
That was really put together nicely. Good luck on selling the car.
Glad you liked it! Thank you!
Omg!! 😂 I love my cobalt, but she finally took a poop on me last Saturday. Luckily my son and I identified it as a blown alternator, he got a refurbished one from the junkyard, and I had a new fuel filter in my trunk for the last year cause my car would stall now and then. Well, it started, he gave gas and it stalled and wouldn't turn back on. After towing to garage, found out the old alternator had blown fuse to fuel injector and fuel pump. $121 later my car runs great lol
This guy is perfect. If I didn’t already have a shitty car myself, I would totally buy it 😂
Need a parts car? Hahah
Reid Zandbelt nope, I already have an off colored door car handle lol
Thanks for the chuckle!
Glad you enjoyed it!
that's one way to have fun with a beater car
It was such a fun project to create
well done, saw one a guy did back in 2000, selling his Chrysler, good work young man, NZ, I live in Bowden, Alberta. retired, I wish I had my youth back! What we do in the Shadows, made in NZ. beware of Zombie's.
Sweet commercial, super funny and imaginative! :)
Much appreciated!!
Original! Very nice video! LIKE IT!
Thanks!
This was actually pretty funny. 🤣
I have a 2005 Cobalt and this is all accurate. I even changed the radio when I was 17 😂
It's a requirement for being cool at 17.
LMBO!!!! BRILLIANT!!!
Thanks!!
Well done! Good luck in New Zealand!
Thanks a lot!
i've got a 2006 ls coupe manual since brand new and since then added a 2010 SS to my lineup!
You're one of the lucky ones
Proud owner of an 06 Cobalt
Stay strong brother 💪🏻
Too funny!
Love it 💕
Thanks!!
excellent on your creativity
Thank you!
phenomenal ad. is there behind the scenes footage?
Maybe one day! Didn't think of doing that.
Really great. I hope you find someone to take this treasure of a car.
You and me both. Thank you!
When I sell mine I'll have to link this video 🤣
Guaranteed to sell!!
Does the windows works in real life or no.
Nope, it would come off every single time.
too bad they don't sell this beauty in europe
I'd buy this car just because of this video! lol!
Thanks haha!
Have you sold it or not yet?
Yes it is sold!!!
Did you sell it to a junk yard?
Gonna buy the car just because of the ad
That's what I'm hoping for haha. Glad you liked it!
The car will last a few weeks, but the video is forever.
Chevrolet might say that this is a !00K throw away vehicle. But as the video shows, most people want their cars to last over 200K. It is not ecological to drive a car for 5 years and then have it scrapped. That is a big carbon footprint. However, this car has electric power steering which has been recalled. And even a newly installed steering system is still bad. Many reports of losing power assist during a turn and causing an accident. The car also wanders continuously while driving on a straight highway. I am keeping my 20 year old Mazda MPV until I can find a SUV that is not electronically controlled.
what we learned from Chevrolet,
0:20
Lol.
I have an older car (Chrysler, 2000 year), but I correct such defects. And I do not sell the car =)
Nicely done!
Thanks Edan!!
Amazing video! What kind of gear did you use for it? Looks really professional!
Majority was shot on a Canon 5DMKIV and a Glidecam, the drone shots are from a DJI Mavic.
cobalts are a big lemon. $1 final offer 😉
I'll consider it hahah
@@Reidzandbelt hi. I got the exact same car. Same issues. At 100,000 miles everything breaks. So all long as you can fix it all yourself and buy new you be ok. Still the females run from it when they see it.
Man your voice is so cool
I wish I had his voice! This is Gary Craig, voice over artist.
I drive a Cobalf SS Supercharged.. am I safe?? 😞😞
Thayne Walters everyday is a gamble my friend
so .... at the end .. is this a good car or a bad car????.. if i see this video..commercial or whatever.... seems like it is not advisable to buy this car.
Comprei hoje um Cobalt 2005 com 131 mil milhas por 2,500$ eu acho que está bom pra o dia a dia já que não vou ir muito longe com ele...
Sums up my 07 Cobalt, 3 engines later. I still have it and wonder why I even bothered.😂
I love that people can relate to the struggle. Looking forward to getting rid of mine.
Some of us love a challenge!
😆😆🤣
They suddenly stall and lose engine power and the shifter will not come out of park. And Chevy says they know nothing.
After scanning With a Snap-On Solus and finding 5,000 misfires on the 2 middle cylinders we replaced the coil pack. The stalling and sudden engine power - loss while driving disappeared. The ignition coil module had recently been replaced. Re-scanning showed no misfires.
Defective shifter solenoids can be bypassed with a zip tie directly under the shifter to hold the shifter lock-out arm back. Doing this will now allow you to shift at any moment with no key in the ignition and the engine off and without the need to apply foot pressure upon the brake pedal. Its better than relying on a new shifter solenoid going bad and being stuck in park at a drive up window or bank ATM. There's one solenoid under the shifter and I think another under the steering column that activates the solenoid under the shifter itself when the brake pedal is applied under normal factory conditions. I'd rather use the zip tie method for reliability. There's a video of this on YT.
After cleaning the sensors, removing and cleaning the throttle body (very carefully - do not push the butterfly open because it will damage the electric motor that is attached onto the side of the throttle body housing) and properly replacing the throttle body gasket and replacing the catalytic converter and clearing the codes the check-engine light is finally off she's running as she should and now reliable. There's a little stumble when accelerating from a stop so it's possibly dirty or cracked fuel injectors and/or dried, cracked fuel injector O-rings. Stumbles in carbureted engines is usually the accelerator pump in the carb so it's usually a fuel system related issue.
Once you get that bullshit squared away it's not a bad little car. Because of these stupid problems they can be bought very very inexpensively with low miles. You just have to search for the answers to the problems and make the necessary repairs.
Because this and many new cars have no transmission dip stick I highly recommend placing a large piece of cardboard or shallow pan under the engine and transmission to detect any possible leaks.
Make certain that the oil change service personel properly clean and re-install the oil change canister correctly. If they don't it will leak engine oil.
Was the quoted price in Canadian or US dollars?
It's in Canadian dollars. You can have a look at the ad on ebay, the link is in the description.
@@Reidzandbelt Did you successfully find a new home for your Chariot of Awesomeness?
@@Reidzandbelt BTW, hope you have a great experience in New Zealand.
@@marleahstout2395 Not yet unfortunately. Still time though before I leave
@@Reidzandbelt Ottawa does lack a sense of humour and an appreciation for brilliant out of the box thinking.
My cobalt is a lot nicer than this one but this gave me a good laugh 😂. I have a 2010 Chevy cobalt Lt
So did you wind up selling it for $7.99? 🤣
How do you only have 180 subs! If you ever want to do a TikTok video collaboration I have 60K subs I love your work I’m here form Facebook stolen van video. Keep creating amazing content my man
My channel is @findinghuggie on TikTok I hide things around the world for people to find originally from Canada currently in isolation in New Zealand South Island
I have a 2010, total piece of junk. Nothing changed in five years.
You're right about that. Glad it's gone
You don't know how to take care of a vehicle, not the cobalts fault.

Great Pizza delivery or DoorDash car. My Cobalt has 260,000+ miles and runs well.

Have a 2008 cobalt and I love it! No problem at all😊 very reliable. Good on gas good power and smooth ride.
My buddy sent me this video, while I was at work in NY. Got major flashbacks when you went through the drive through because my window never worked and that was my life😭
It's a first world problem, but a problem no less.
Awsome!!!
Thanks 👍👍
Amazing a grown man had the time to make this silly video, which does take a lot of time I’ve edited my own videos before, but doesn’t take the time to learn how to fix his own vehicle.. Gets pulled over and opens the car door, cop
Puts his hand over his weapon and this guy screams I’m a victim lol please this is toxic masculinity at its finest Gillette
Ah jumping to conclusions.
Reid Zandbelt for sure 😉 at least you can look back after you get the recognition you deserve and say you were a good influence and all the young minds out there
Amazing a grown man had the time to make this silly comment. Fixed it for you.
SilentKnight43 just saddens me this comes up on my google news feed from CTV when there’s real stories that need to be heard
SilentKnight43 we as a society are promoting laziness and lack of just basic structure and direction mean while people are profiting from damage
