You should pin this so everyone can see it
Nintendrew hey drew, what Nintendo console is your favorite?
Pixelated TR His favorite console is the "Nintendrew 64" I think! :)
Pikamon101 knew someone would make that joke
Drew you should do a video on custom game cases as an alternative to owning carboard boxes for anyone who may be interested
I avoided ironing my whole life and now this. I knew this day would eventually come...

The Heavy Rain joke cracked me up, definitely earned a like lol.
Same here! Definitely deserved my like!
I laughed way more than I should have at that
@@AwesomeBrony I see a fake checkmark, fbi open up
Oh i get it lol
I didn't exactly get the "joke" at first because I happen to love heavy rain.... but i went back and listened to it again and finally got it. 😂

I actually never thought of doing that to my old game boxes. Now I need to try that! Very cool video!
Hey, Nico! you're videos are awesome.
Hello Nico Barbeque
Hi
Nico! Hey man! Love you and your videos!
@Nicobbq so did you tried?
Nintendrew doing his part to increase sales of irons among adults who should already own one. :p
NF Magazine
Or you know, the boxes themselves, albiet slightly more value, not as much as brand new boxes.
i dont iron my clothes lol theres not really a reason to
I don’t usually iron, except for formal clothes
Ironing is good but a good spin on your washing machine probably does half the job
I don’t need one. I have a good washing machine and a high end dryer. No foulds whatsoever
Holy crap. I was skeptical upon clicking on this one, but I am thoroughly impressed with the way your examples turned out. They will never be perfect, but they look so much better than how you began with them. Great job!
word
Me too
“Put something heavy on the box”(puts Heavy Rain on the box)
"color the box and improve its value" Had to give this one a downvote, this aint it.
Unless you have the intent to keep the box
2:29 now I can finally fix my N64 cases AND iron my shirts at the same time.
Mind = BLOWN
I thought I knew how to do this by just using a hair dryer to give shape to the box back but that improved the shape, this makes it perfect. You are the BOSS.
Worked like a Charm! My Smash Bros box has never looked better, thanks for the Tips!
This was satisfying to watch
Yeah! I'll support ya for a $5 foot long
Thanks, Shane! 😁 You're the best.
I’ve been waiting for this video for a really long time! Thanks, nintendrew!
Super Paper Mario music in the background, I see you like good games
Markas Do you know the name of the track? I can't find it

Happy birthday nintendrew! (if you're watching on his birthday)
"If you're an adult who lives alone you should already own an iron..."
Heh, I don't know why that got a chuckle out of me
Same
It's true! I bought a house and it came with an iron that's just how it works! 😂
“Use a heat gun or a hair dryer”
*box catches on fire*
Nice job on the DIY! I would be a member but I'm an individual who doesn't have money. But that doesn't stop me from supporting you by just liking and just commenting on this video. :D have a good rest of your day!
No problem at all! That sort of support is always appreciated, but never expected. Thanks for being a loyal viewer. 😉
Thank you Nintendrew, very cool!
PLEASE don’t color your boxes and cartridges. There was a point in time when the comic book community thought a similar process was a good idea, but all people ended up doing was destroying the value of their books down the road in attempting to “restore” them. I think the same thing will happen for games. Just my opinion.
Thank you, and I agree 100% to note have no issues with trying to straighten the boxes out, and putting them in a protector, but as you said the markers are just a big NO!! Same for game labels.
The coloured sections will fade over time with the black going purple and it shows up really bad.
RWT, A very good point as I was going through old family photos with my mother not long back, and some of the Polaroid instant pictures she had put dates on back of in the 80's, and 90's, the black marker now either looks almost brown, or a very light purple.
This is very much a personal preference. But either way, there are plenty of games/boxes with kids' names written in black permanent marker that sell for close to full value 😛 So I have no reservations about using them to improve overall appearance, especially when I have no intention of reselling. Thanks for watching!
123gamerman comics are kind of a different case since trying to restore one just messes up the key selling point but trying to restore a game box doesnt change the programming of the game at all. Sure people are fussy and restoration devalues the game anyway but because the box art is basically just a nice extra restoring it shouldn't tank the value as much as restoring a comic book would.

Here's a pro tip for anyone planning on doing this: print a "refurbished box" label and stick it to the cover if you do the marker thing. Collectors will thank you if you resell it. Drew touches on this in his follow-up video on DVD cases.
Man, your videos always make me want to start up a collection of my own. I'd say that's a sign of quality content.
This was very satisfying to watch! Thank you!
It's disappointing to hear you advocate "hiding damage to increase value", ie scamming the buyer.
Great video and happy birthday drew
Good stuff i always enjoy the n64 videos because i myself am a n64 collector.

This video was legitimately awesome as someone who loves game preservation seeing how you fixed the boxes up was very professional and well done overall great video
You have too much patience i would aciddentaly destroy the box in this process
Throwing a comment out there hoping for the off chance someone could help.
I have a PS2 game that unfortunately got a little sun bleached, not the artwork, the spine and it's the little logo at the top the red is a little lighter than it should be. Don't really want a reproduction and was wondering if anyone knows or could recommend a really close red marker or paint pen I could use to carefully recolor the red and make it bold again?
Dog freak’in gone it. This was the best tutorial ever man. Thought it was one of those stupid clickbait crap videos but dang. Never knew you could revive game boxes to almost perfect condition lol. 👌🏾U sure do know what you’re doing bruh👍🏾
This is fine for pesonal use I guess but from a collector perspective this would actually make the games LESS valuable..
2:17 "Lol roasted"
I tested with a box and eventually i got the heat wrong
I was just touching up some n64 games with markers and thought "I can't be the only one that does this right?" lol
NEVER use permanent markers, on paper use water washable markers as you can wipe excess off, while the ink will still stick to the paper fibers
Thumbs Up for the Heavy Rain Joke.
This was mind blowing haha and definitely trying it on a GBA game I just picked up! Excited to have it but the box has seen better days. Can’t wait 😊
I don't actually own any catrages with boxes, but Nintendrew is just fun to watch.
Does this improve the games value or make it go down?
Uh i think go up
Finally viewed before 200!! Keep making these videos Drew!
hoo hoo hoo ha ha hoo hoo hoo hee ha hoo...
Awesome video! :) I dont have any old cardboard game boxes but I have some carboard VHS Tape boxes that need some repairs as you showed in the video! Also I've got a lot done on the Super Drew Bros. ROM Hack!
drew... you are the reson i love nintendo. before i started collecting i sold my gamecube to my sister, but when i saw your vids i got it back and started collecting .thank you so much and could you maybe do a gamecube buying guide in the future? thanks
That Heavy Rain joke was a little HEAVY handed...
I'm not sorry.
"And if you don't live with your parents anymore, you should have an iron"
Drew dolling out life advice in this vid.
Happy birthday Nintendrew! Also I never thought ironing would come in handy, but looks like it does!
Mario Party 2 is the best N64 game like if you agree

Thanks nintendrew you know your games!
I'm using this to fix my fruit loops box lol
This guy knows how to build a video. Really good content creator
This dude takes pride in his collection! I like this and the cart label restoration vids! Keep up the good work!
I feel personally attacked by the iron comment ahah. Great video as always!
This tutorial really helped me out in my N64 Boxes & Banjo Cartridge. Thank You, so much man.
Hi Nintendrew, I've got an idea for a video you could do. Since it's related to restoring game boxes, what about disposing bad smells from game boxes & cartridges. I bring this up because I've recently bought some boxed NES games from Ebay and they stunk of this old musty odor. They look fine, but they seem to have this issue. Maybe this would help other people who maybe experiencing the same problem.
I saw that lol roasted near the iron.
When you picked up the sharpie i was like “no way its gonna cover up the damage” but holy shit the result was really good!
3:16 "something heavy" holy shit that was really clever
Hey nintendrew hope your having a wonderful day, i was wondering were did you buy those markers you use to color the box, i have never seen those types of markers on my local pharmacy or on walgreens if you could tell me ir would be very nice, also love your video❤
im an adult and i don't have an iron.. irons are for old ladies
you could always put it in the dryer to get the wrinkles out
The joke about the iron really cracked me up to the point where I watched it multiple. If you don't live with your parents, you should own an iron. Hahaha
Thank you sooooo much for this. I was skeptical but seeing as you showed doing this to a Mario Party 2 box i was sold this was legit before even seeing the results. I picked out my worst box, Super Mario Kart. It was so bad it couldn't even stand up right on it's own. I'm actually flabbergasted at the result. Literally just ordered a ton of box protectors too. I'm about to iron out the ones that need it before they arrive and can protect the ones already ok too. I can't believe I've had a Snes and N64 collection for as long as i have and never bought box protectors lol.

AND IM GOING TO THROW MY **** AT YOU!
For a 12 year old, I know my old games!
Why do you have to make things so inteteresting and helpful. I been subscribed when you had 20k subs Love your vids
I had my N64 game cartridge boxes in perfect mint condition for 20 plus years. Yesterday out of nowhere, my mom went through my old stuff and she had the bright idea of stacking books on top of those N64 boxes. 😑 I will try this
I'm trying restore the PS Vita box a bit. And these seem like some good solutions. Thank 😊
I got a nice CIB copy of Gyromite (with ROB and all of the accessories!) for pretty cheap. The Gyromite cartridge, cartridge protecter, game manuals, and even the styrofoam thing that goes above the cartridge are in pristine condition. The only thing that isn't is the box. At one corner it looks like a dog got to it. I am sad that there isn't really a way to fix this but I still love my Gyromite CIB.
Thanks Nintendrew but I'd advise against applying heat for as long as 5 minutes. Ive found a couple of minutes works fine and when I applied the heat to one SNES box for just under 5 minutes, some of the original box ink came away.
Ok so don't be alarmed. I'm watching this at 3 in the morning and my brain is doing a thinking. So while watching your intro, my brain was like, "what happens to all those collectables when he dies? Does he actually play all those games? I doubt it. But what if he does, I'll never know." As I said, it's 3 so I'm kinda going insane because I can't sleep.
Lighter fluid is the quickest way to remove most stickers including the gum residue often left behind. Simple squirt on top of the sticker, let it soak for 15-20 seconds and then lightly peel. Put some lighter fluid on a corner of a napkin and wipe to get off the remaining residue. The lighter fluid evaporates quickly so even if exposed cardboard absorbs some fluid, it will evaporate in a minute or two and leave no stain, odor or residue. :)
Interesting video I have an older Pizza Hut NFL logos box from 2018 and I was wondering if your methods could get the creases out of the novelty pizza box.
Would this work on Pokémon Emerald, Fire Red, and Leaf Green Boxes? Got some in their original boxes but the boxes look kind of dented up. The bottom of the box tho is folded and doesn’t just open like the top, and the boxes are kinda holographic. I’d like to restore them and display em.
Good tips except the marker stuff, that's not an acceptable or wise restoration method if you ever think of selling the game(s). I certainly wouldn't want anyone painting over the boxes of used games I'm acquiring to try and hide their flaws. Other than that, this is a nice and easy way to get the beat up boxes looking better on shelves.
Could someone tell me the contents of the SMG premier edition copy is? I looked online but nowhere states the pros over the original copies. I'm a fan of SMG and might pick it up as I have both 1 and 2 just not the premier editions... Thanks!
Taking a marker to an original box makes me very nervous! Personally I'd just prefer to see the damage. Gives the box more personality and feels less like damaging original boxes than trying to draw on them.
Happy birthday. I hope I’m not wrong
Probably a dumb question, but is the ironing method safe for boxes with shiny/holographic effects? I have a copy of Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories for gba that has a bent box but i dont wanna restore the shape if i end up ruining the reflective printing with the steam.
Just to emphasize one point... when removing stickers from cardboard you don't need a little patience, you need a LOT of patience. And be willing to just leave the sticker on if you aren't sure you are getting it off cleanly.
Didn't work for me... anything I can try?? I have a big crease in my original Chrono trigger (not repro) and it kills me when I see it.. I tried using your method while I was doing it and it didn't do anything.. how do I get out major creases?? No color is missing...
Hey, I know you said you designed your entertainment center through IKEA, but I tried to design something similar but they didn't have any rectangular shelves, they were all square. Any suggestions on that?
Video Game Box Proctors.com will absolutely hemorrhage your ass off with hugely inflated shipping charges - go Amazon and get the same product with free shipping.
hey dude the box you where holding at the start of the vid was Ready2RumbleBoxing. i have the Ready2RumbleBoxing"Round2" for the gba
I have a question: will this work on a game box that had a shiny/holo effect on it? I have a box for Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories on the GBA and it got smashed recently. I remembered this video but dont want to iron it if it ruins the "shine" on the box.
I've only managed to get one CIB game from when games came in cardboard boxes but when I build up a proper collection I'll definitely use this video if and when the boxes aren't up to shape (pun intended).
I recently obtained a bunch of boxed NES games that were exposed to mice in a basement for many years. I would like to clean them in case they have been exposed to disease carrying urine and droppings. I don’t want to ruin the cardboard. The heat from the iron may help with some of this but does anyone have any other suggestions?
Aww,this makes me even more jealous of video game collectors :(
But it's a quick thing happens and stops,so it's not like I'm gonna give a dislike for this.
Step 1.Time travel back to the date of the games release
Step 2. Replace your damaged copy with a new one
Step 3. Head back to the present
Step 4.Unbox that bad boi
Who else is addicted to Nintendrew?
I'm curious as to what N64 game boxes look like on the inside because I've seen users have just the cartridges on their shelves and the boxes seem over the top for such cartridges. From what I saw in this video, there is a cardboard structure I assume would hold the cartridge?
Most CIB games were games I bought new. Some are in better condition than others. I stopped removing stickers from game boxes when I bought a used copy of Crash Bandicoot Twinsanity that took forever to remove the label.
But, great guide Nintendrew.
Something heavy
DANG IT I can't sit on the box!
I kinda wish I'd kept some of the boxes that came with my Gameboy Advance SP games. They got crumpled and we just keot them until my mum chucked them.
17 dollars for just a box protector?
If you give 3 dollars nore you can get a n64 game (not boxed)then if your friend has box you can ask him/her to scan the box and send you with social media then you can print it and here you are, an n64 game with box
I just buy a fake hard plastic case online. There are beautiful fan made ones out there I prefer to use.
