Beautiful scenery in those state parks (and cactus too)!! In the late 1920’s - early 1930’s the WPA really did a great job building up sites/roads/parks in the US (and put a lot of people to work) - I think the CCC followed along!! Amazing how beautiful those old buildings are - the stonework & the woodwork (I wouldn’t have been happy in the caverns - I’ve done a few caverns & I’m not claustrophobic- but I don’t like the feeling inside - did a bat cavern in Aruba - no problem with the height - but it was awful in that cavern - in the dark & hot & yes, there were bats). Amazing the places you have found on your own state - and all the BIG (and tiny) RVs! I have some good memories of RV life (my friend Kathy started with a pop-up camper & then went on to purchase a small RV - pulled by her van - and we got to camp on the beach in North Ft. Myers & in Myrtle Beach SC - plus several parks in south FL too - her RV didn’t have slide outs - it was a tight fit for all of us - and she used the shower for storage - so we had to use the bath houses at the parks - definitely an experience I will remember)!

The last time I visited caverns was when my daughter was 10 yrs old for school. She is now 26 yrs old, Lol!! Luray Caverns in VA. I hiked & climbed with the students. I don't blame you I wouldn't have taken the tour either with a bunch of people around. Since I live by myself I don't let anyone around me b/c of this virus. And daughter has to wear a mask in the house when she visits. She understands, she doesn't want to get her mama sick. Nice places you & Robert visited. Sylvia
Love the first place you went to, with all the caves, and all the beautiful stonework, and the woodlands/trails. Those woodlands looked like something out of a cool fantasy movie!! I expected Bilbo Baggins, or some elf or wizard or something to come popping out of a tree!! LOL Places like that make me mad with myself I didn't travel more when I had better mobility, I would have loved to have gone somewhere like that. A lot of places in this world I'll never seen, unfortunately, and that makes me sad, but also mad at myself.
Wow - have never seen a firewood vending machine in my entire life - how cool! I also loved how the handicapped parking apace near the boat launch had the concrete "stopper" painted blue, so there could be NO QUESTION about which one it was! :) Ink's Lake was very pretty too - too bad it wasn't sunnier.
Sorry dinner was such a bust for you. :( I love Greek salad too, because I adore both Feta cheese, and olives - both black, and green. And all kinds of marinated peppers, and mushrooms too. And I like Gardenaria, with all the pickled vegetables.
Weather here in NJ has been nuts lately too - well - it IS 2020 - what AIN'T nuts? It's been in the 70's last week, down into highs in the 40's at night, with lows in the 30's. The other day we had thunderstorms and heavy rain - in October - along with strong straight line winds that took out bunches of trees, etc., and power. Have lost power 5-6 times this summer. Thank God longest was like a day and 1/2, but still.

We went from a tent to a pop-up to a travel trailer and now have a 5th wheel and I still have trailer envy. They keep coming out with bigger more luxurious things LOL. Looks like y'all had a great time!!! Love it.

Hi Favor! Okay I went in search of the Quest peanut butter cups and found them at Walmart! Oh my goodness-they are so delicious and you’re right-they taste just like the real thing, yummy. 😋Thanks for the recommendation. I am on Weight Watchers so I will have to be careful with them because they are 7 points, but so worth every point.🎉🎉💝💝
Texas State Parks. May I recommend getting the State Park pass. It allows you to enter all Texas State parks. It covers the entree fees. We love camping at Inks Lake. All Lake Buchanan area parks are recovering from a bad flood. Inks Lake was flooded really horrible and before that the had a nasty fire. But I love using State Parks to camp. Brazosbend is great to explore. Just watch for alligators.
Swimming in Lakes and rivers is a blast. Long as you are careful. We are waiting for even more milder temperatures. We tent camp.
Hi! Yes! We are buying the pass for sure! Thank you! I cut this part but we remarked about tent camping... there are some really huge tents! They have patios now and "rooms" so amazing! I had no idea! The burned out trees are still present, so hard to see. Makes me so sad. Lake Buchanan parks were in bad shape, the park host allowed us to drive though but said it was recovering. There was an RV park along the lake, a very nice one.. a video will be coming on that.. it looked fairly new. Oh yes, the alligators at Brazos Bend... the main reason I avoid it! haha! We have friends that camp there and have encountered more than one... yikes! Cheers to milder weather for your camping adventures! Hugs!
So... I absolutely love Inks Lake!!! And you can RV there really inexpensively. They just book up quickly and don't have a lot openings until next year or we would be doing that. 😉❤ oh that's a cedar or yupon tree probably.
Oh yea...inks lake has no sewer hook ups at the individual pads. But water and 30/50. they do have dumpstations near the entry. Its really beautiful Favor. There is a beautiful drop off with a cliff dive. With it being spring fed, its perfect for the heat of summer. 😉
Oh btw hubbin and I are currently doing repairs on our wee RV this weekend. Which is stored in Katy. 😉
Oh man! We have grandma otherwise if would be awesome to meet you guys for a coffee or something.. next time let us know... we'd love to visit. Inks Lake was beautiful.. the RV spots were really nice... We would love to camp there. I am finding it really hard to book state parks right now... Stay booked up. I'll get in eventually! Hugs!

lol.. no... he rarely wears long pants, only shorts. It has to be below freezing for him to wear long pants. Years of working in the freezer in the grocery stores! I had on jeans and leggings under... I was freezing! haha! Hugs my friend, thank you for watching!
