Orange has their own sound and texture. Love them and loved what you did to show this one off. Pure, vintage Johan. It never gets old seeing/hearing that '73 Custom 😁 God bless and rock on 👍🎸
After watching your videos for many years it’s become clearer every time that most of the tone come from the speaker! Of course the orange can pull off classic tones when paired with an amazing speaker like a vintage greenback! I need to get a pair/quad to add that to my tone library!
Always nice to have your take on an amp I'm familiar with! I'm gonna try mine through greenbacks for sure. This amp sounds great clean/cleanish with single coils as well.
Wow , I would swear that was an old Marshall . Thats one of the best modern made amps I have ever heard . Thanks for doing this video . I want to buy one now !!!! ...........and I owned the original AD30 for 20 years . This sounds better .
Holy crap better than the AD30? Ive been wanting an AD30 but haven't had enough money to buy it, so I found a Dual Terror for $500 in used/great condition and jumped on it yesterday... Now I'm wondering if I should've saved up for the AD30 but I keep reading comments that the Dual Terror is legit. Makes me feel like I made the right choice! That switching between 30/15/7 watts is damn tough to beat for sure too.
Awesome demonstration Johan! Some of those dirty tones were very similar of Ace Frehley's on those first couple Kiss albums. Now I gotta go grab one these!!
Super stoked about this one. My most favorite amp I ever owned was a Tiny Terror combo with a G12H30. All I did was put new Ruby tubes in it. It sounded incredible, might have to pick the head up next for my 212 cab.
I have a Tiny Terror and it was a little too compressed, I changed the V2 tube for a balanced 12AT7 and it gave me a little more clean volume and a more dynamic gain structure! Cool little amps
,Hi Johan! I thought that Rolland is standing behind of Orange, but I am not sure. Sounds good! Despite of being myself classic guitar teacher, I am using my own nails for 30 last years. This is my work and my mission 😅. But its good to know, that I can find any alternative! See you! Siegfried
That is the Ghost Tone 🔥 I love the tones from Infestissumam and Opus Eponymous. I think they used Orange’s Thunderverb (don’t know what cab they used) an SG standard and a Gibson RD. You should check them out, they have some of the best tones I’ve ever heard (not only on guitar)
Sounds great as usual. Have you ever done an Orange vs Vox shootout? I have a Micro Terror and run it through both a Celestion Blue and Mojotone BV-25m and wonder how different it would be from a Vox through the same Celestion Blue. That rig (Micro Terror>Blue) sounds pretty darn Voxy, especially when the tone control is on the bright side. Would also be cool to see the Dual Terror go up against a vintage Orange through G12H30s.
This is the same clientele tuning in to see guitar speakers in dryers, guitars made of planks of wood and whether a cranked Marshall under the Kattegat could sink a Russian submarine.

I have a Dark Terror and its a sleeper. Won't keep up with a loud drummer, but has a lot more than metal tones inside. Very under rated and has a loop, if you need one.
@@andreasf6671 Dark Terror is 15 watts/7 watts. The dual terror is 30 watts. You can't stay at all clean if you want to keep up with drummer. It also gets fizzy/grainy after 2 o clock. So a nice crunch and big volume is harder to get. 212 with vin30s?? Hard to find a more efficient speaker.
@@thorinbane the dark Terror is a single channel amp that's meant to be dirty. Of course it's got no clean headroom. The Rocker 15 has a clean channel and can definitely keep up with a drummer. Heck, my Terror stamp keeps up with a drummer.
@@mrcoatsworth429 I would argue thats not entirely its purpose. It has wonderful cleans but just not the volume to go with. You are talking apples on the rocker, and I am talking oranges on the dark terror.
@@thorinbane the dark Terror is literally the the dirty channel of the TH30. It's circuit is designed to be distorted, not clean. You're the person comparing apples to oranges, if you expect this amp to have a lot of clean headroom.
@@JohanSegeborn A-ha! 😄 I had a feeling it might be a Super Distortion. I didn’t know if I was seeing things with the double row of pole pieces or not. Some people uncover the stock bridge pickup but leave the neck pickup covered. It sounded extra thick and good with the Super Distortion in it. I have an Orange 35RT FET transistor amp that I like but could be in the market for a small Orange tube amp. I remember Orange from the Wishbone Ash “Argus” album.
Reminds me of exactly why I sold mine. Sounds worse than an over saturated fart. And to be honest, the first time, in all the years I've followed your content that I've heard you get an abysmal guitar sound out of anything you've played through. 😩 Including when you razored that speaker to death 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah! It will be a great complement to your tonal palette
The dual Terror is my main amp these days. Run it into an open back cab with a Eminence Big Ben 15”. Sounds killer. Glad you like them as well Johan!
Glad to hear it

I love the dark terror clean with a big muff, it sounds incredible. Also it's a great pedal platform amp.
That little bugger sounds like a rock n roll machine.
Thanks 😁🤘

Yeah preamp tube experimentation can often pay off
Great tone
Thanks!
The predecessor was behind the lunchbox amp craze here in the UK ten years ago. You can still buy a Tiny Terror scandalously cheap
Yeah that’s a classic
Sounds really nice, greetings from Warsaw, Poland ;)
Glad to hear it! Cheers from Gothenburg, Sweden!
Sounds amazing, certainly has this Orange vibe. Now, lets compare a Rockerverb to a 70`s Marshall
Thanks! I’ll keep it in mind!

Not to shabby. But that cab probably helps loads.
Thanks Ian, yeah it does

What speakers in the cabinet?
Will EF86 valves work in this?
