Episode 20: What's it like to deploy to Afghanistan??

Per YOUR request, Denny and Mike will be discussing their deployment to Afghanistan back in 2010-2011.
This is where they forged the bond and brotherhood that has carried them through 15 years of friendship. In this episode, listen to Mike and Denny talk about the highlights of working with a great group of men, the lowlights of attending ramp ceremonies for the fallen, and even a few funny stories from their time in a Ghazni Province.

I REMEMBER THAT BIG CIRCLE ROUTE WE TOOK ALL THE WAY DOWN INTO QARABAGH I THINK... I drove it, because I had a year deployment prior to this driving in the mountains... I remember talking to you Denny about why we were taking that route and I believe we were assuming that we were going that way because we were trying to avoid a potential ambush we got intel about in a village we stopped in.... and I remember who forgot their batteries for his nods.. haha😂 yeah.. You had guys who checked eachother for the most part and we were reliable for taking care of our jobs making sure we were squared away.. I remember being moved to the PSGs(Mikes) gunner permanently after in the firefight in Wagez...I appreciated the recognition as a gunner because that was my favorite position and glad I got the opportunity to rise to the occasion and I enjoyed that deployment with you guys... So, thank you Denny my old Team Leader and Mike, my SL then PSG.. Thanks fellas! It was an honor and a privilege to deploy with you guys being a volunteer from your sister unit the 1-182nd Infantry.
