Some irresponsible parents need to go to jail, for not being there for their kids and monitoring their behaviors and social media accounts. Some parents don't even know what their kid's favorite color is. Not to forget the same parents don't even know if their kids completed their school homework, etc. Parents are so disconnected (no excuse here), yet they know what clothing and name brands are trending! Stop scapegoating society, teachers, and social media. We ALL have a duty here and we need to STOP pointing fingers all the time. A Family home's foundation (some broken, understood) needs to be re-visited, it is being forgotten. I see a whole lot of lost children/teenagers in this world, while parents are out partying, drinking, traveling, having a good time, and taking selfies for social media. I say hold them all responsible, negligent parents so easily sucked into the trendy world of society and being to busy having "adult time" and "adult drinks" to be actual parents, and hold all the others you mentioned are scapegoats for their parts in all of it as well.
Every single social media account should have to be done through using a verified ID, and an age restriction,
and only ONE account allowed per verified ID.
But that will never happen because these companies would lose billions of dollars in ad revenue, as these are estimated based on the number of active accounts they have to advertise too.
And then those billions couldn't trickle their way into politics and the advancement of globalism as well...
And not to mention the mind boggling number of under aged kids in the population who would have an instant, apocalyptic meltdown/temper tantrum if such laws came into action...
Social media, as a brainwashing propaganda tool has done the damage it was meant to do...
It would take generations to undo it or to even figure out how...
and social media is only one part of it...

This is a joke… Parents are the first line of defense to prevent their kids from excess use on social media platforms. To blame Meta or any other social media company for peoples actions is absurd. Meta is a business “for profit”, of course it wants people to use their platform. This blame falls on the parents for not paying attention to their children and for not knowing what’s going on in their day to day lives. Zero compensation for parents taking zero responsibility.

Where was the parents of these kids? Hours and hours on computers and cell phone! THESE DAYS ITS EVERYONE FOLD. Parents stop been parents! Stop taken their kids to sports! To the park and have a BBQ etc. They use computers/ cell phones to keep their kids busy. How the Facebook going to know how old is your kid? They can use another person information etc.. The government needs to stay back and make parents be responsible for their kids.

Meta will always keep improving the platform to protect all world wide. Parents or single Parent need to do there part. Teachers in schools express to me on some parents don’t do enough in students education or social life. This issue goes way before Facebook or social platforms existed. Social media just brought to the forefront. Senators wanted to do something great, tell to go after platforms like telegram who protect criminal activity and allow drugs to advertise and deliver to your children door steps. Who know what else goes on with the telegram platform. God bless.

What did the parents of the victims do when their children were suffering from cyber violence? If they were good parents, I'm sure they would care about their children's feelings, there's no way the child wouldn't show any signs of psychological instability. When unfortunate consequences occur, the first people who should feel guilty are the victim's parents. However, Facebook is also at fault and the worst way to penalize Facebook is to humiliate someone who has absolutely nothing to do with cyber violence.
