That's a good idea of what the song could mean and you could be right. For example at the beginning of "Ghosts" Mike says "I've had enough hard days. It's like when I wake up and I feel good I shouldn't feel guilty about having fun, you know."
@@Nuclear241 well its not that he just wants to go solo. he loves to work in Linkin park, but as the band is no more, some media were asking him to quit. n this rap, he meant he wants will go solo if nobody's there for him. he says that he doesn't like the guilt that follows him through the media that is asking him to quit
OMG Periken you just made me think of something..haha the next time someone asks you if they can ask a question, you should just say, "Go Ahead" lmaoooo
This is a freaking cool song! I wish Twiztid would do a cover of it! I love Linkin Park, Chester and Mike! I've always thought that Twiztid would make a badass cover of a Linkin Park song. Because LP and Twiztid both rap in some of their rock songs.
Disagree but that's your opinion. I like Mike's music with and without Chester. I like Chester's music, with and without Mike. Imo they are both great artists on their own and amazing together
As someone who doesn’t like rap all that much minus a few people (like Eminem) and generally speaking likes alternative rock bands, Mike IS what made Linkin Park different and cool, he is essentially the spirit of the band. Had Mike left us and Chester was here instead, LP would have ceased to exist because Mike wrote most of the songs, made the melodies and coached Chester on how to sing the songs. I feel as though Chester would have just went back to Dead Before Sunrise if Mike was gone because Mike put the band in the direction they went into with each album - he made the LP “sound” that we all associate with the second we hear a song. You can hear that formula in Mike’s own music. Yes, Chester wrote songs and put his personality and influences on their albums, such as the screaming parts (which was more Chester’s input) but Chester himself said Mike is the reason the band exists. The song Breaking The Habit was written purely by Mike, and the guitar part you hear in the beginning was all Mike. Originally he was going to make it like a song such as Session or Cure For The Itch, but was told by the other guys to make it into a real song. Coincidentally, Chester associated with the song very much … and many people at the time THOUGHT it was about Chester or that he wrote it. But nope, Mike did. See how Mike is the reason LP is so good and not just some typical rock band? Any band can have rock music, with techno and a good singer… I mean that would just be bands like Incubus or Breaking Benjamin (which are both good bands!) Mike IS Linkin Park. He also didn’t just rap in every song either, especially as the band progressed he did way more vocals than you probably realized like the song The Catalyst, Blackout, Little Things Give You Away, In Between, Castle Of Glass, No Roads Left, etc. just as small examples.
I'd love to scream "Noooo" at the ending part or each time Mike's songs reach its energetic peak. It kinda feels like Chester screams too.
This song is so great shinoda is a legend
Imagine chester sings this. Everytime i hear this i hear him. Peace from germany
This song is growing on me
i just recently got into mike shinoda and im literally LIVING
Have you checked out Linkin Park and Fort Minor yet?
Mike always rock
Thinking about, how could be if in there was Chester screaming: RUNNING FROM MY SHADOW, NOW MY SHADOW IT'S MY ONLY FRIEND!!!!
from a six members performance to a solo T_T
Would make this already great song 100% greater
Chester singing in this would be cool, but sad thing is, he dead
@@cory3171 I'm sure AI can add it in.
@@sudoxe999 Mike had already said he wasn't ever gonna do that to chester that it just wouldn't ever feel right
Him and Chester got heavy poetic wordplay 🔥
"Dancing with the devil ... Cause she's all that I ever know.. "
Great Job with the Lyrics, it makes me understand better the feelings behind the music and the Mike Shinodas Talent! So thank you.
I love this song,I always played it again and again.
How does a song that sounds like it's about being defeated by the self sound so inspirational as well?
Just started this song and I already love it!
I love this Song! ❤😍
I love this song
He is the best writer
Anyone feels that Mike's shadow is the fact that he feels he isn't supposed to do solo career when in reality he wants to?
That's a good idea of what the song could mean and you could be right. For example at the beginning of "Ghosts" Mike says "I've had enough hard days. It's like when I wake up and I feel good I shouldn't feel guilty about having fun, you know."
@@marceline2438 Yup, I also get it too. Also Crossing the Line has this same feel about wanting to go solo
I had the exact same interpretation of this song...

I can't listen to this without waiting to hear Chester in this song...R.I.P. Chester
I was so confused because on Apple Music it just says it’s by Mike Shinoba and doesn’t say anything about Grandson but like I swore I could hear him
I know exactly what that feels like so stay strong you're not the only one

I came here for Jordan(Grandson) but this song in general is FUCKING AMAZING
Yeah YT finally let ya!
You can hear the end part that should have been Chester.

The rap was exceptional but sorry i only accept chorus only from chester
The rap parts on Linkn park songs , are the worst parts on every song . Without Chester , there's nothing interesting in Mike Shinoda music
