I can't believe we're getting a brand new album already. When Taylor won her Grammy and announced the album, I was multitasking and watching a WWE PPV at the same time while keeping up with the Grammy's so it didn't really sink in for me til the next day lol! When she posted the info on her socials I was like "Oh wow! Cool!" but when I got a moment to really process it and when we got to see the track list I was FLOORED haha! I'm so excited for this album. The aesthetic and vibe just seems so fresh for Taylor. I get old Hollywood meets modern day vibes from the album cover, name, font and the track names. My fave track name is But Daddy I Love Him because I'm a massive fan of Ariel and The Little Mermaid and the fact The Little Mermaid was released in 1989 makes it even more interesting. I, like a lot of fans, was expecting reputation (Taylor's Version) to be announced soon so this really threw me for a loop but I'm not complaining. Looking forward to seeing what Taylor has in store for us with this project. Thanks, guys, for another amazing episode! 🤍💿🎶
Thank you for your comment!🤍 We agree, it all feels very surreal right now but we cannot wait to see what she has in store for us all! The Little Mermaid connection is so layered, wonder which aspects of the story she'll highlight🧜♀️
Alchemy: I think it has to do with how she tried to make Joe in gold (she constantly referred to him as gold or golden) but that it was a hoax and he really wasn’t, she just really wanted him to be
I also agree and was thinking the same thing. Just by looking at the back cover with the tracklist, the fact that "Manuscript" is the file name is interesting. And the rest of the tracks are sectioned into 4 different sides. It feels like she's gonna be telling us another story or multiple stories that we have to dive into. I mean, she put it as a file, right? But why? 🤔 Can't wait to find out! I'm getting the vibes that we're gonna be investigating along with her. The 4 sides could be from different perspectives of these characters she will introduce us to in the album. And I'm here for it. I love reading and hearing from different perspectives. Each character has their own version of how they feel and how they interpret the situation. Much like how we saw with Betty, James and Augustine. Just reading the tracks, I can sense it's a woman talking with an accent from a different time, like the flapper era. I think of how dramatic women were back in the late 1920s-30s. "But Daddy I Love Him" screams that type of dialogue and feel to it. Much like Taylor in the "Me!" music video. The way she was dressed and in black and white with over the top acting she did when portraying her emotions to her significant other, "Je suis calme!" in english it translates "I am calm!" And the track "Clara Bow" was an actress from around that time. Taylor's been hinting for a long time now about this era. All the way to "The Lucky One" and the burlesque attire in "Bejeweled" and the Hollywood film actress she portrayed in "Wildest Dreams". I had looked into Clara's bio and man is it sad. She was known as the "It" girl. Everyone talked about how well she acted, how she was so good at crying on command, was charming and a hard worker. But man did she struggle to prove that to people. Much like Taylor. We all know how talented she is yet there are people who continue to discredit her and not even acknowledge her talents. Clara went through the same thing. Eventually her mental health took a toll, she secluded herself from the World and eventually died of a heart attack. All alone with the care of a nurse. Effing sad. So yes, I'm here for the stories Taylor will give us in this new album.
Taylor is so creative when it comes to album aesthetics and creating interesting imagery and designs that go hand in hand with the music! WE CANNOT WAIT🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Part of me thinks the parallels to some of the reputation & Lover tracks means she wants us to have this album BEFORE rep tv is released. Give us the Joe closure/break down before revising the album that started it all. I also think the four sides are representing the 4 sides of grief. I’m also wishfully hoping for a romantic track about Travis but we might have to wait for that. Thanks for your hard work as always!
*I agree with the album cover resembling the polaroid cut off face, borders of 1989. definitely looks intimate yet an inner heartbreak that calls back to Red kinda... her Poets profile on social media looks so 2012-like the RED bangs still survived after a decade!* 1. Fortnight - *I'm surprised & stoked that Post malone is on this collab! ngl i do kinda feel his presence in tracks like 'Now that we don't talk' cause of the synths! reminded me of his song Circles* 2. The tortured poets department - *title track feels like could be influenced by Lana's ocean blvd title track* 3. My boy only breaks his favorite toys - *makes me think of her 7 year relationship and how the guy only focus his perspective on his own circle but never her authentic self. kinda like how kids like playing or breaking their toys but never paying attention to their carer?* 4. Down bad - *reputation coded! i did something bad so don't blame me* 5. So long, London - *IS GIVING THE OPPOSITE OF LONDON BOY NGL & MAYBE CBBH?! “but you're in london and i break down cause it's not fair that you're not around”* 6. But daddy I love him - *Ariel's dialogue from that scene arguing with her dad LOL, we know Ariel gave up her voice to be on land with Eric so that’s like a metaphor like shrinking herself to be in this well-grounded relationship?* 7. Fresh out the slammer - *Slammer means prison in american slang so she's singing about being trapped and imprisoned in her 7 year relationship?* 8. Florida!!! - *You might be onto the rumored split during the Tampa shows! wonder how will this sound 👀 Florence is known for her indie rock genre* 9. Guilty as sin? - *why does title feel like another dimension of no body no crime* 10. Who’s afraid of little old me? - *Title gave me a nod to ‘You're on your own, kid’, she was juvenile, fresh in the industry so probly singing about the journey* 11. I can fix him (No I really can) - *the inner dive to ‘You’re Losing Me’ especially the line “I wouldn't marry me either, a pathological people pleaser” ?!* 12. loml - *the only lowercase... maybe to address smth commonly faced by most of us! sweet nothing moment? she wants to safeguard her love but both partners don't rly like each other for their authentic self / not on the same hierarchy in a relationship* 13. I can do it with a broken heart - *can’t help but think about Taylor performing Lover during the Eras Tour without breaking down into tears 😔* 14. The smallest man who ever lived - *the person who doesn’t let her bejeweled and see her for who she is that she had to shrink down to “fit” into the relationship?* 15. The alchemy - *i’m all about chemistry, sorcery, enchantment in a song esp the magic of folklore + evermore! can't wait for this one 🤍🧙🏼♂* 16. Clara Bow - *Bow was an American actress who rose to stardom during the silent film era of the 1920s and successfully made the transition to "talkies" in 1929. Her appearance as a plucky shopgirl in the film It brought her global fame and the nickname "The It Girl".* 17. The Manuscript (Bonus track) - *another “the lakes” moment with this one! both are track 17 off their respective albums 🩶🫱🏼🫲🏼🤍*
The new album literally followed the footsteps of Midnights being announced at an award show! it’s like 2022 all over again 😏

I was literally just thinking about that 🪙
Department and four sides: the different roles in the department. Perhaps the different sides of grief.
Take me to the Lakes where Poets go to cry

@@SwiftlySpokenPodcast REAL I RLY LOVE DISCUSSING TS CONTENTS WITH YALL 🤍
If i am not wrong, this is the first time she opens an album with a collaboration, which is interesting
I legit thought "red herring" meant she wasn't gonna announce anything until at LEAST after the Super Bowl.
I trace the evidence make it make some sense.
I find the artifacts cried over a hat 🧢
This album is gonna HIT DIFFERENT okayyy!!??
🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Exactly😌
