It’s not even the whole bad boy x good girl thing. It can be done well but the key to it is not having the good girl be a wilting flower next to him. She can and should call the bad boy out on his asshole tendencies. But doing that would mean most people writing that sort of story knew how to properly handle character development.
This sounds like it would have been better as a dark sort of psychological horror romance, where he's a stalker and manipulating her, and she starts to doubt her own sanity and falls apart

He throws and breaks people's property and threatens and manipulates her. On multiple occasions. 2. Everyone in this book uses alcohol to cope with their problems. Anytime there is a conflict or issue, the person gets wasted. Alcohol isn't a problem, but if you're using it to cope with your problems, that's an issue. 3. He was actually dared to take her virginity and showed the bloody sheets to his friends as proof. So there's that.

Btw the apartment was bought with the many he won from the bet.. Harden (when he was younger) made a sextape with this christian girl without her knowing. He made that public, everyone in her community saw it, she was shunned and disowned by her parents . She left her hometown for this. But later in the books when they meet her she's all like thankful that this happened , if it wasnt for harden she wouldnt be now happily married with a beautiful child... Basically harden's dad was an alcoholic. He abandoned harden and his mother one day while he had pissed off some really "good" people, who they raped his mum in front of harden for revenge.. This isn't even the half of it

I don't uderstand really. That is Anna's choice of characters.I mean alcohol is a real issue. The book DOESN'T make alcohol look glamorous. It basically shows that is a bad habit. That is criticism of the reality. The book category is drama and romance... so IT'S pretty obvious it's gonna be like that. Plus, the chemistry that Anna built between the two characters is amazing. Every time I read the book my stomach just begins to flatter so yea... the book has its weak points but I think it's good

In the end bad boy kills the good girl and we learn he is the killer but we were busy with watching cheesy romance we didn't really notice the hints dropped. It could have been a great book/movie. But no, it had to be a truth-or-dare bet.

@@bubbles4897 I'm actually a psychology major, currently working on my masters. Lots of things that people consider "weird" or "gross" are actually pretty normal and even healthy. Sexual fantasies aren't a problem or disordered unless they cause major distress to the person having them or hurt somebody else directly (this is according the the DSM).
Anyways I hope you'll do some reading on the topic. Fantasies in and of themselves don't hurt anyone and can even be useful.

He literally manipulates her emotionally throughout the whole books.. harden and his friends made a bet on if she would lose her virginity with him. he kept the bloody sheets and the condom from their first night to prove that he won the bet (it gets worse)..She lives with him now in this apartment only because he wants her sheltered there so she doesnt ever find out about the bet.. he basically caughts her off from all communication with his friends (let me explain here that she only has one friend to talk too and all her other "friends" are harden's friends). Btw the apartment was bought with the many he won from the bet..
Harden (when he was younger) made a sextape with this christian girl without her knowing. He made that public, everyone in her community saw it, she was shunned and disowned by her parents . She left her hometown for this. But later in the books when they meet her she's all like thankful that this happened , if it wasnt for harden she wouldnt be now happily married with a beautiful child...
Basically harden's dad was an alcoholic. He abandoned harden and his mother one day while he had pissed off some really "good" people, who they raped his mum in front of harden for revenge..
