Keep in mind, these characters are only available for about 3 weeks after they go live, and youd have to wait a few months until they come back in rotation. And the game ALWAYS has events running, though most of it is for the current later content, in this case, Inazuma, so you gotta do Inazuma to do the good stuff, but the good thing about the game, is that no matter how long you are away, while you do indeed miss the events from the past, you DO however get to enjoy the current stuff right there and then, since the events are non-stop, so you just do the new stuff, and forget the old stuff, dont lament xD
I kinda get it, past few characters weren't doing it for me, I even stopped playing for a while and then bam ayato made me log in again... I got him and he's really fun to play with too!!

They changed their brand from MihoYo to HoYoverse to possibly get further away from the CCP so they won't get in trouble for certain things they add to their game. They changed their servers to Singapore not long ago.
pls stop spreading misinformation. for one their global server core is always base in Japan, and they have not move it from Japan to Singapore. all those claim are assumption made by ignorant content creator and not grounded in fact, it is very easy to look up their recruitment information and see what they are really doing. the Singapore company is create purely to handle their banking transaction, they are hiring mostly people with finance background and not game developer. Mihoyo is always and still is the studio, Hoyoverse is intended to be their publisher brand so they can expand the business and add new studio, it has nothing to do with moving development away from Mihoyo. this is more like Blizzard relation with Activision-Blizzard. Hoyoverse do not make games and Mihoyo still does all the development work for Genshin. the Idea of Hoyoverse is that they will own other studio in other country making other games, this is similiar to how Tencent own Riot games while still maintaining their own studio in China. they want to make more games and games that run on different technology and art style, obviously they will need international talent like every big publisher, but they are not there yet, this is merely preparation work.

Ayato is kinda broken. His special is just constant bullshit with a quick AF cool down. I laughed my ass off in his story quest when you get to demo him because he made his quests combat sequence a massive joke. Hes not even max level and he has more health than my Zhongli and Kokomi. His real vision is beef.

Mihoyo is based in China but there was an incident that resulted in the company coming fire under the Chinese Government, and in order to keep those limitation from affecting players worldwide, they created the Hoyoverse branch. One of the major limitations the Chinese government introduced was heavily restricting the designs of certain characters. If you check your mail, you'll notice you have gotten alternate outfits for Amber, Jean, Mona and Rosaria, which all cover up more skin and are significantly less form fitting. These may be alternate costumes for worldwide players, but they are the new standard outfits for the players in China.
"The last few character have been...eh~" The community would fight you tooth and nail on that one. People were going nuts for Yae Miko and Shenhe. Heck we have one image of the characters coming in 2.7 and people are already going ballistic for them. Hoyoverse doesn't miss with their characters if nothing else.
"He gives me Zhongli vibes," Me who thinks Ayato would be a perfect love child for Zhongli and Tartaglia: Can't blame you. He's as elegant, knowledgable, secretive, and calming as Znongli. But is rich, confident, family-oriented, and has a slight ego much like Tartaglia. But favorite non-canon ship aside, Ayato is a great character. Really fun to play and is just the right about of a spoiled rich prince personality that is likable, and not annoying.

Lots of people got hyped for Ayato because his Chinese and Japanese voices are the same that did Otto Apocalypse in Honkai Impact. No it's not their reason for rebranding. Censorship would always be a thing in China and there's no way around it as long as a company is operating in China. The most plausible reason for the rebrand is to promote their company better, specifically to another companies. Notice Hoyoverse's new logo to have that corporate aesthetic? It's designed with b2b branding (business-to-business) in mind. It's designed that way to appear more professional so they can better advertise themselves with another companies, because despite the hype and massive revenue, Mihoyo/Hoyoverse is still fairly a small company.

From what I understand, Hoyoverse is to miHoYo as Meta is to Facebook. They apparently plan to establish offices in other countries and create more games, anime, and other forms of entertainment to keep fans engaged. It's a pretty recent thing so no concrete plans have been announced yet. Ideally, this would mean more staff on-hand to iron out bugs and make quality content for their games but we will see.

If Hoyoverse still wants to release their games in China (where most of their money comes from and where most of their employees live), they still have to make their games according to China’s censorship

Ayaka's VA mispronounced Ayato's name in the character teaser. There is no long vowel and stressed syllable. She even called him "onii-sama" in the Japanese dub, not his name. Just your usual localization weirdness. Not sure how it went in the original CN dub. Dainslef pronounced his name correctly the first time in the collected miscellany. Dunno why he switched to the incorrect pronunciation afterwards.

Regarding the Logo change Mihoyo to Hoyoverse. It's because of the characters cencoredship last year I think. They are basically avoiding other characters to be cencored by their Chinese government. So that's the reason why they changed it to Hoyoverse. And I tell you the character cencoredship are actually not that great. Mostly the CN server the cencoredship is just horrible.

The VA definitely did a great job for dubbing him in such an appealing manner, and as far as male character dubbing goes, the same goes for Zhongli, Ayato, and a few more others. Also, I'm sure you already noticed this but the region of Liyue just received its latest map expansion. I wish you good luck in your attempt to explore the Chasm's surface and whatever lies beneath the area! 🍀

Long story short, Hoyoverse is Mihoyo's Singapore branch which is now in charge of games like Genshin Impact. Mihoyo is based in China but there was an incident that resulted in the company coming fire under the Chinese Government, and in order to keep those limitation from affecting players worldwide, they created the Hoyoverse branch.
One of the major limitations the Chinese government introduced was heavily restricting the designs of certain characters. If you check your mail, you'll notice you have gotten alternate outfits for Amber, Jean, Mona and Rosaria, which all cover up more skin and are significantly less form fitting. These may be alternate costumes for worldwide players, but they are the new standard outfits for the players in China.

The community would fight you tooth and nail on that one. People were going nuts for Yae Miko and Shenhe. Heck we have one image of the characters coming in 2.7 and people are already going ballistic for them. Hoyoverse doesn't miss with their characters if nothing else.
Too bad Yae's kits are a little bit on "problematic" side. I was disappointed she isn't on-field dps too. I want a well-designed catalyst dps 🥲

Me who thinks Ayato would be a perfect love child for Zhongli and Tartaglia: Can't blame you. He's as elegant, knowledgable, secretive, and calming as Znongli. But is rich, confident, family-oriented, and has a slight ego much like Tartaglia.
But favorite non-canon ship aside, Ayato is a great character. Really fun to play and is just the right about of a spoiled rich prince personality that is likable, and not annoying.
Also yeah Mihoyo changed their brand name essentially to Hoyoverse as they've now pretty much established the majority of their universes and characters are connected in some minor way or another.
Lots of people got hyped for Ayato because his Chinese and Japanese voices are the same that did Otto Apocalypse in Honkai Impact. Yes its the kind of voice that is as overly soft but menacing as you'd expect. That air of uncertainty from a mastermind.

I managed to get C1 Ayato and I must say, his gameplay is so fun!
As a mini spoiler, the scene in his demo likely took place during events of the second half of Inazuma’s archon quest. So it’ll give you some insight of the things happening in the proverbial background, as you play through Inazuma’s archon quest.

Mihoyo essentially rebranded themselves for their international branch to Hoyoverse (they're still Mihoyo in China). Its like how Lays Chips is known as Walkers Crisps in the UK, or how Burger King is known as Hungry Jacks in Australia

So sad they've had to make changes because of that law but at least we still have Genshin after the fact. :)

No it's not their reason for rebranding. Censorship would always be a thing in China and there's no way around it as long as a company is operating in China. The most plausible reason for the rebrand is to promote their company better, specifically to another companies.
Notice Hoyoverse's new logo to have that corporate aesthetic? It's designed with b2b branding (business-to-business) in mind. It's designed that way to appear more professional so they can better advertise themselves with another companies, because despite the hype and massive revenue, Mihoyo/Hoyoverse is still fairly a small company.

Their game was already hit with the clothes changing especially in the CH server. Then they make the "censored" outfits available for Global servers and not long after rebrand themselves, not to mention open up branches and subsidiaries all over the world so that their studio wouldnt get shut down or become a future target for more anti-game changes in China hence not losing a bit of revenue in the process. This is how Mihoyo the Chinese game company becomes Hoyoverse the international corporation.
Now...if the CCP changes didnt happen, would Hoyoverse still exist? Probably....probably not...but that sequence of events tells everything...

@@v.emiltheii-nd.8094 the plan for hoyoverse happened a very long time ago, and it is primarily to address the fact that credit card company were blocking them, it has nothing to do with China. if anything it is more to address problem they have with the US government. people need to stop spreading fake news based on opinion and not fact. who Cognosphere hire can be check on the internet recruitment, and it mostly staff that help them do the banking. if it was about "censorship" they would need to hire artist, they are not doing that. furthermore it make no sense to base a game studio in singapore and not japan where they would have access to more artist and programmer. singapore is chosen for it banking access. this doesn't mean hoyoverse will not develop game overseas, but that is for expansion, to make new games, like how tencent buys riot games. the point is to turn mihoyo from an indie studio to one that has a publisher.
I love how you compare Ayato and Zhongli I have both and are a good duo and I will say this Ayato is good but it depends on what build of equipment and weapon he will use and you are correct it is Dainsleif narrating plus they did rebrand the company as well

From what I understand, Hoyoverse is to miHoYo as Meta is to Facebook. They apparently plan to establish offices in other countries and create more games, anime, and other forms of entertainment to keep fans engaged. It's a pretty recent thing so no concrete plans have been announced yet. Ideally, this would mean more staff on-hand to iron out bugs and make quality content for their games but we will see.
Yeah mihoyo rebranded to hoyoverse but i believe in china they are still called mihoyo. I think it was to do with avoiding censorship of the characters maybe because if you play in asia servers some of your characters will have a new outfit which you aren't allowed to change because their original ones were too "revealing" but in international servers you can choose between which outfit you want.

Ayaka and ayato don’t have the same element because having a vision isn’t a family trait. Visions are given from the gods. So just Bc Ayaka has cryo doesn’t necessarily mean her brother has a cryo vision.
To answer your question DBG miHoYo has rebranded to Hoyoverse only for global audiences outside of China. So you wont find the name miHoYo anywhere anymore on their websites or new videos. They created the Hoyoverse brand as a subsidiary brand to manage all game content outside of their main branch in China but the company as a whole is still miHoYo. It's just that miHoYo owns Hoyoverse.
It's "Hoyoverse" instead of "miHoYo" now because miHoYo has started to get in trouble in China because of some mindless idiots who call everything "oversexualized" and etc. They created "Hoyoverse" only for people outside of China, so it's the same miHoYo in China.

Mihoyo changed their name to Hoyoverse because they moved the servers to Singapour (??? or maybe Hong Kong, I don't remember exactly, but the reason for this was to kinda escape the chinese censorship or something like that, they still make characters and events family friendly, but apparently the chinese government is way too strict even for genshin.

Not really, it’s just for receiving transactions from countries that have limited transactions to China. If Hoyoverse still wants to release their games in China (where most of their money comes from and where most of their employees live), they still have to make their games according to China’s censorship

Ayaka's VA mispronounced Ayato's name in the character teaser. There is no long vowel and stressed syllable. She even called him "onii-sama" in the Japanese dub, not his name. Just your usual localization weirdness. Not sure how it went in the original CN dub. Dainslef pronounced his name correctly the first time in the collected miscellany. Dunno why he switched to the incorrect pronunciation afterwards.

The name change of the logo/company is to transfer the company to their subsidiary outside China in Singapore if Im not wrong, to get away from Chinese censorship, its still Mihoyo but they are slowly moving out the company from China because of all the restrictions and censorships, a lot of chinese gaming and networking companies have started to move out from China such as Tencent, Netease, and etc. All to avoid the oppression of the CCP when it comes to media

It didn't affect the players much and we did get free "suitable" skins for 4 female characters but unless you are on China's server, you can pick which skin to wear.

Regarding the Logo change Mihoyo to Hoyoverse. It's because of the characters cencoredship last year I think. They are basically avoiding other characters to be cencored by their Chinese government. So that's the reason why they changed it to Hoyoverse. And I tell you the character cencoredship are actually not that great. Mostly the CN server the cencoredship is just horrible.

Aside from the obvious continuation of the archon quest, the Inazuman archipelago is rich in new game mechanics, exploration, mystery, side stories, visuals, etc. The wait for Inazuma will definitely be worth it! Moreover, Dainsleif, who's still a clandestine figure, has been the core of the traveller's journey concerning the abyss so far. The VA definitely did a great job for dubbing him in such an appealing manner, and as far as male character dubbing goes, the same goes for Zhongli, Ayato, and a few more others.
Also, I'm sure you already noticed this but the region of Liyue just received its latest map expansion. I wish you good luck in your attempt to explore the Chasm's surface and whatever lies beneath the area! 🍀
in short Mihoyo is trying to move from being an indie studio to a proper studio with their own publisher (hoyoverse).
