Nagelsmann is a good coach and it certainly looks like he's turned Germany's fortunes around but I'd always be suspicious of a coach that chooses an international position so early in their career before achieving anything spectacular at club level (YES I'm also talking about YOU Southgate stay away from our club).

Bournemouth and particularly Brentford are changing my mind in TH. I think he has been incredibly unlucky with injuries, mainly in defence, and when Hjolund got injured after injecting some life into us. However, those 2 performances in particular were unacceptable. However, I am not impressed by any suggested replacements. What has Nagelsman really done!. Not overwhelmed at his record.

What annoys me is that ETH keeps picking players that are letting them down. Why would you pick a lazy out of form Rashford, instead of Amed who would put more effort in. Also Casemero, put amrabat in.

On amrabat i think he definitely could be a better option than Casemiro has been since hes been back from his recent injury. Amrabat is more moblie he is a better passer and he has alot more stamina. Most importantly he will stay back and shield that back 4 which we need so badly. The midfield is our weakest part of the field all season. Yeah the front 3 aren’t pulling up trees as the saying goes but our midfield has been ran all over because of how we play so open and far up the pitch but then have our backline back because they dont have the pace to get back. We need to control the ball better and more often and amrabat does that better than most hes happy to take the ball off the back 4 and make simple passes that keep the ball. We need that desperately now and have all season.
Nagelsman is interesting because at a minimum things will get updated behind the scenes. Hes someone that wants to be on the cutting edge of everything. On the pitch, we'll see. But off the pitch i think there will be improvements that we KNOW United need as well
Ten Hag had put his faith in Mainoo for the start of the season which is why he was played against Arsenal and Madrid pre season - lets be honest, had he not got injured - it wouldn't have been as bad this season. Top that with Martinez getting a serious knock, Ten Hags choice cb (others inherited) and the financial shadow over the club due to spending the max possible for a couple of years - had to resort to loan deals for cover - in the twilight of the window, United announce they've signed Amrabat - who looked amazing during the World Cup -

2 years is not enough to build your own squad and get them playing how you want them to - this is not a computer game, it's real life
If nevez is that good then it costs what it costs. Think about what other teams ahead of us are spending on players in this position. Liverpool spent on multiple midfielders but the price is still similar well over 100mil and if de bruyne leaves city or falls off then city will spend huge to fill that midfield hole.
Why would any manager want the Utd job? It's a serious question because what this club excels at above all else is ruin and failure. This club WILL NOT be winning or competing for anything significant for a very long time and anyone taking up the managerial post will have to have the kind of character that accepts that situation and is able to deal with the pressure that comes with it.

Southgate is the answer. He can learn on the job. Not sure Martinez and Onana stay though.
Fact is, every manager is a gamble. You take a Di Zerbi and you're probably taking an absolute fire cracker that could burn bright for a short period of time which is almost unsustainable.
But if you took the likes of a Potter, as an example, you're looking at a manager that's a slow builder of a team but could get results in 4,5 years, which fans don't have the patience for. And I don't, not ANOTHER 4 or 5 years of trudging through seasons.
Those are only "types" of managers I'm talking about, and those extremes you'll find everywhere, and we them in Mourinho (Di Zerbi) and Moyes (Potter). It's the one that's in the middle, got that energy and prowess to turn things around quickly but be able do that for the long term that makes them like Unicorns and therefore incredibly hard to get.
With that being said, if there's no obvious candidate then everyone is a risk, and you choose the best risk.

I'm not too bothered about Nagelsman and happy if Ten Hag gets given atleast another year and sees out his contract, I believe he is the right man for the job still, especially under a good structure.

Ten Hag will likely face the brunt of the criticism for not being able to shift the dead wood this summer, despite not even being the manager when these daft decisions/signings were made as well as having little to no say when it comes to negotiating the price of players.
I agree he’s made mistakes but was he ever going to be flawless? Hardly any manager is, if any. Last season we overachieved, this season we’ve been poor. I think the level sits somewhere in the middle and hopefully with a better structure in place behind the scenes and some better work in the transfer market, we’ll start to see improvements in the playing style and consistency.
I think as football fans we can be a bit reactionary at times. It’s gonna take a while, there’s a lot of shit to fix, we’ll be back. Hopefully.
If ten Hag goes we will end up with Potter. Nagelsmann was the only candidate I thought we could realistically get that I would be happy with, surprised Bayern are going after sacking him so recently.

Neves at 120m makes zero sense. We need a squad rebuild and with sensible targets would could get 4 quality squad players for 120m. That would be a cover CB, back up CF, back up LB and a decent young DM. Then spend 60 to 80m on a proper DM and we would be sorted
I can't get over the brass balls on Bayern. To sack Nagelsmann despite them winning the Bundesliga his first season, and then being 1 point behind Dortmund with only 3 defeats for the following season. To hire Tommy Tickles in his place, realise HE isn't good enough and is problematic, and THEN wanting Nagelsmann back again. If I were him, I'd tell Bayern to do one.

Nagelsmann is just a name fans recognise and that's it. Winning trophies at Bayern is like being successful at Celtic or Ranger and being Germany manager during a period where they haven't had any competitive games is even less convincing.
With the exception of the Super League, listening to fans about anything to do with the running of the club has been shown to not be a good idea.

The players are accountable for these results. These are not committed professional performances, there's only so much accountability that can lie with The manager. You don't just forget how to play football if your manager gives you the wrong instruction

What we need to do as a fan base is not get gassed off hype on new up coming players or players, we as fans haven't even scouted ourselves.
For example, we did this with falcao, di Maria, Schweinsteiger, that Southampton lad schniederlin, we did it with amarabat and now Braithwaite, jao neves etc. please please just stop falcao knees gone never the same, di maria bad attitude, Bastian Schweinsteiger legs gone, schniederlin never good enough, amarabat never good enough never played in this league..

We don't need jerrard Braithwaite he's bang average and another harry Maguire low block merchant, todibo could be a risk as the league is more physical, however he is clever and has pace so he can work and build strength.
We need 3 x central midfielders, 2 x anchorman/central defensive midfielder. 2x wingers and 1x forward either a quick low center of gravity striker or,,,,, a taller technical striker with medium to good pace, and 3x center backs, 1x right back and 1x left back.
According to the above,, we need 13 players as a minimum over the next 2 summer windows and top up in january, plus any break through youth players.
I would sell heaton, shaw, bissaka, maguire, lindlehoff, malacia, mc tominay, mejbri, brandon williams, varane, eriksen, casemiro, sancho, pellistri, donny, rashford, martial, evans, send amarabat back.
I would bring back de gea on 150k pw.
I would then build around dalot, licha, fernandez, antony, mount, bruno, mainoo, armass, any academy player worth their salt, amad, kambwala, garnacho, hojland, onana, de gea as back up and potentially number 1, id bring de gea as back up to see if he still has it and if so then transition.
its a big big rebuild but i'm just outlining the above for you all to see, it just shows the scale of our issues and this is a 3 year rebuild but we start heavy and hard this summer, mass clear out and then add quality and sprinkle class on top.

Amrabat is complete trash. There's a reason he was available so cheap and no one else was interested in signing him. I've never seen a worse passer than him at United. Even three yard passes are always a yard wide of where they should be. He makes McT's passing look like Pirlo's. Martial is one of the biggest wastes of talent I have seen in my time as a football fan! The way he dribbles with the ball so close to his feet, his control and his finishing are that of a world class player. A mixture of attitude and terrible luck with injuries have ruined his career though!
