Beautiful craftsmanship. Glad to see a woman making an instrument
I could watch this one-thousand times and still enjoy it.
Let us know when you reach the 1.000° time! Thanks for watching and appreciating it 🎻
The sound quality makes this video so satisfying. The instrument wants to sing even before it is born.
Amazingly skilled! And the sound of sharp tools!...
The beauty of craftsmanship!
I don’t play the violin, I don’t make violins but can appreciate the impeccable craftsmanship involved in making one. What a work of art and fascinating to watch!
Did you know that sometimes it can take 1 year to make 1 instrument? It's an incredible art form 💫 Thanks for watching and appreciating it!
I'm 14. And my dad always said that the material used on this making was a resin. Those Woods isbjust too neat, too white, and too smooth on looking
Viola
please enough of the viola erasure it hurts my heart as a violist to see it
This should get a million views!
Let's get to it 💫 We invite you to discover more about it on Le Dimore del Quartetto www.ledimoredelquartetto.eu and The String Circle www.thestringcircle.eu 🎻
It’s like watching a musical performance in itself. Thanks for all the sounds! PS love when your breathing becomes part of it!
I've watch a lot of stringed instruments being made, and I've sorta thought, I could do that, but I watch this, and I'm like, there is no way.... such incredible precision, such beautiful shapes, and appearing to be essentially eye balling parts of it. I agree with Pickerhat, Fantastische Handwerkskunt!
It's all about passion, hard study and practice from the right Maestros! Thanks for watching and appreciating it 🎻
@@LEDIMOREDELQUARTETTO I've been thinking about it since, picked up some antique timber today, so tempted to give it a try. Seems I only have passion at this stage, so a lot of hard study and practice to come haha!
My first thought: no, no, no way, a man can't be skilled like this luthier, not knowing Ulrike is a female name, it has to be a woman, yup, It's a woman indeed. Oh my God, I rarely make comment on UA-cam, but this is such a display of craftmanship, beauty, precision... centuries of European skills passed down to her, and of course her natural talent!!!!
Top Upload :)
Danke schön 🎻
I hate to say this but when I think of luthiers I see men in this job. This ladies skill set is off the charts! I am in such awe. My compliments to her! I wonder how long it took her to make this instrument?
We are so used to this because of our society and how this field used to be. That's why it is so important to promote both men and women, but most of all women in violin making! Thanks for sharing your point of view, and for watching it 🎻
Stunning...a real treat to watch and admire.
Thanks for appreciating it 🎻
i don´t know if i should comment in german or English, but i think it looks quite easy when others build violas or violins, but i made a violin top in my internship. the top was finished in 2 weeks of hard work and i didn´t even start to make the f holes, because our 2 weeks were less then we needed, since then i paid much respect to everyone who builds violas and violins.
This is the long form of saying "It is really impressive what you are doing" ;) Thanks for the video
That's beautiful!!!
Great job!!!
Very nice build.
Amazing! What attention to detail too!
Details are everything! Thanks for watching it 🎻

Isso é pura arte mds
wow, amazingly clean and beautiful work - judging by the sounds, and the results, the tools seem to be exceptionally sharp in every stage of this. Nice to see the baroque set up as well, interesting

That looks beautiful, very skilful. I am almost ready to start my first violin and even if it comes out a quarter of that I'll be over the moon.
Congratulations Ulrike
Pure perfectie geduldig en bekwaamheid
Hermoso y satisfactorio parece asmr
Amazing work, but it could be more detailed. Do you have the full video, by any chance?
This kind of work can take months, or even years. We don't have the full video but we suggest you to discover more about it on Le Dimore del Quartetto www.ledimoredelquartetto.eu and The String Circle www.thestringcircle.eu 🎻 Thanks for watching it!
Bravo majstore.
I like how you use metal pins and other techniques to strength the whole structure, extraordinary and impressive craftsmanship👍👍👍
This is a baroque violin, she is building it like Stradivari who also used nails
@@michaeljking I noticed the three nails as well. Didn't know they still made baroque violins like that. The pins to hold pieces in place is what I do for fretboards for guitars
Thank you! We invite you to discover more about it on Le Dimore del Quartetto www.ledimoredelquartetto.eu and The String Circle www.thestringcircle.eu 🎻
Stradivari would be proud of you! ❤😅
Lindíssimo trabalho ....muito show. O violino ficou esplêndido
Id love to get into making them, since ive been playing for nearly 6 years now! I just don't know where id start.

Super
what is the name of your tool to measure thickness ?
Thank you.

@@timhitt9541 thanks info
How long did you put the wood outside in the sun, or UV box?
We're do you get the dimensions? What books are you using ?
Queria ouvir o som!
I, very much, like the fact that you're a woman. Thank you for proving that we, too, can do this.
Those small peg-holes for the neck are the first I've ever seen.
I would like to hear it played. Do you play as well? Is that your first violin? Though, I think not. How many have you made? Do you still have the first one that you made?
Sorry for so many questions. Just curious.

Why is the inside not varnished?
Why would you need to varnish the inside?
It usually is sealed with a few light coats. The video would not have shown every single step of the construction process which takes 200 to 250 hours.
My dream is to be a musical instrument maker 🥲

Pourquoi des clous ?
😲
Daniel Vargas 🎻
Hmmmm, schon die vier Töne klangen reich. Hätte gern mehr gehört.
Ele sonido onde estás ?
Violin
Why all veneer ebony?
It's a baroque fingerboard not a modern one.
Cool! But this is a viola being made, not a violin.

Don't quite understand why you wouldn't varnish BEFORE attaching the fingerboard.
Either way works
3:31 Are you using cyanoacrylate (CA) glue?! Say it isn't so!
... bravissima ..
Its so sad to see you doing good work but use nails to joint the neck what a pity
