- An extended view of the load-in, setup, and tear-down of a sound system for a cultural event. The event lasted 7 hours and included band performances and dancing. We use a Presonus 32SC with an NSB 16.8 stage-box, along with 8 Yamaha 12" w/horn speakers for FOH and monitors

This is an EXCELLENT example of an indoor Fairgounds event we do out here in SoCal. When the big guns are needed the only differences are more amps and FOH speakers. Thanks for posting the video Dave, You Rock . . .REALLY!
Thanks for the great comment!
Thanks for shedding light on the activities behind the scenes that go into making these events happen!👍
Thank you Midway!
Nice to watch the PreSonus working with your Stage box and Cat6 cable. Good job, Bob.! Merry Christmas!
Thanks, you too!
We look forward to your traditional holiday event with excitement every year, everything is the same 😊 Greetings from Turkiye...
Thank you!
Thank you mister Dave. warm greetings from Italy.
👍✅ And a big thanks to Bob for filming, editing and producing these fine videos for us🤣Oh and he has something to do with the sound also👏
I appreciate it!!
looks like another fun and successful event. sorry i had to miss it. sign me up for next year!!!
You are on the list!
i love you guys you make me setup my pa system i love it
The amount of flight cases is crazy
...especially for a smaller event.
@ I’m just comparing it to a single MR18 which I’m using and also active speakers compared to passive. But yeah you don’t get a physical mixer but even so me and my guy loading all of this into a sedan car is still pretty hard haha
All into a Sedan car... that would be rather hard!
@@stageleftaudio Yeah no choice haha just starting out and not really full time. Just using the skill to earn something as and when
Interesting you should talk about your shielded digital snake. I have had a problems with drop out and the need to shut it all down and restart to get it working again. Maybe that's the problem.
I had an emergency snake that is unshielded which worked perfectly. Interesting.
Yes, we had some previous issues using shielded Ethercon cable. The un-shielded cables have worked perfectly. Generally speaking, the issue with the Ethercon shielded cables had to do with the grounding path that existed between the stagebox and the console (all via the Ethercon). Once we "broke" the ground, all of our issues went away. Our cables still have the shield attached (at one end only) to act has a "ground". They are officially UTP cables now and work great.
Unshielded twisted pair...hmm what the heck is the benefit drawn from being unshielded? Was there some sort of short in the shielding or something?
The shield was causing grounding issues between the console and the stage-box. When someone would touch a microphone, a static discharge would take place (though, not all the time); the energy would travel down pin +1 of the mic (the ground) and cause an interruption in the signal when the static discharge was routed to both the stage-box and console (via the shield on the Ethercon). Removing the shield (on only one side of the Ethercon) prevented the discharge from affecting the stage-box and console.
Shielded CAT cable is good, especially in electrically noisy environments (like office buildings), but in reality is not actually needed in all situations. I have some previous videos covering this shielding issue.
Sir are you ready your microphone in City Parade?
Yes! It was a success. Hope to have the video posted next week.
Haven't we been to this venue and fair before? Like last year?
Yes. They are a regular customer.
Hello, What are you using to cover the cable run to the front of house?
Those covers are just rubber floor mats. Each mat is about 6ft. long and 18" wide.
I've been using the Presonus 32SC, so I'm familiar with it's features. When ringing out, are you using the RTA on the GEQs and adding them to the outputs, or just the included PEQs?
I'm using the PEQ that is available on each vocal mic input; though, I do not use the RTA for the ringing out process. Hope this helps.
@@stageleftaudio OK thanks. I did it with the GEQ, but I may just use the PEQ on each channel to make it simpler.
@@stageleftaudio Also, try the RTA so you can actually see the frequency that starts feeding back. It's an easy tool to use. No need for an extra RTA mic.
Yes. The PEQ is the best tool to use. It does a very good job notching frequencies. The GEQ can work, but it affects too many neighboring frequencies; it can alter the sound too much.
@napynap The Presonus consoles (like many other digital consoles) have a built-in RTA, there's no need for a separate mic. Even with the built-in RTA, I rarely use it. I usually can determine what the feedback frequency is just listening to it. For me, it's faster that way.
hola, que microfonos usaste, gracias.
Los micrófonos vocales fueron Audio Technica AT2035. También utilizamos un micrófono Audix ADX51 como instrumento de la orquesta.
@@stageleftaudio gracias, estoy siguiendo tus videos,
¡Gracias!
How much money you charge for this event for sound system
Sorry, we are unable to discuss service rates.
Keren sekali. Apakah saya bisa bergabung kerja disana❤
Saya tinggal di Jakarta Indonesia. Saya juga kegiatan seputar audio system.
Senang mendengarnya. Ada kebutuhan audio di seluruh dunia! Terima kasih atas komentar Anda.
You need a taller vehicle ...bending over like that won't help your back
I'm sure he doesn't have $80-110k for a new van.
@@XIIMonkeysMusicGroup That one doesn't look new anyway .. not everyone has to buy brand new vehicles
PA speaker could be a little higher? @SilverCreekAudio is on another exetreme though...
The speaker height is intentionally low for this event. This is to ensure the bulk of the sound only covers the listening area and that the people in the first couple of rows can hear the PA. If the speakers were higher, the people sitting near the speakers would not be able to hear that well, whereas the vendors (directly behind FOH) would be getting a lot of the volume.
