Nice! I'm near Uwharrie. I'm up in Randleman just north of Asheboro. Currently riding a Yamaha XT250, looking to upgrade to a KLX300. Soon, hopefully. Thanks for sharing the video! Hey, I know some pretty good trails right here in Randleman. If you ever want to make your way up here I could show you. 🙂👍🍻
Cool video! I ride uwharrie every summer! I ride a 2018 KLR 650. Would love to go for a ride! I’ve been looking at getting a lighter dual sport. Love my KLR but would like a bit less weight for more relaxed rides.
My 2022 klx 300r has been through hell, always been reliable aside from when It gets hot (it shuts off at idle). Only downside I find is the bike is extremely heavy!
@@DerekDualSport I have about 65 hours on mine and it's only shut off after doing like 3 speed runs full pin after a couple hours of use. Definitely a nice bike but just not fast enough after awhile
I almost typed a book for a comment, the tldr is that the wr is great. The only major problem I've had in just over 8 years is that I have to rebuild the rear master cylinder right now. Other than that, I think just batteries and mods. It's really tailored to the dirt though. What makes it the 250ish dual sport king of off road (in my eyes) is what makes it less road friendly. Great bike, just don't expect a unicorn. I never intend to get rid of mine.
Love the videos man, I have a CRF300 Rally and 450RL and I ride at uwharrie a lot. It would be cool to meet up one day and ride. I live around Asheboro, NC.
I’m buying a 2025 KLX 300 next year, which tires would be best for off road? I plan on replacing front and back stock tires first thing but not sure what to buy. I’m just getting started in Dual sport
@@DerekDualSportgotcha, yeah I was watching at work so I didn’t have the volume up lol, I ride a modified 300L out at Uwharrie a lot with my buddy who also has a 300L.
Definitely, I actually just bought the Pirelli MT21 front Dunlop 606 rear combo that I’ve heard so many good things about. After I run these down I’m gonna mount some Tusk Dsport tires so I can compare.
Love it. Keep the videos coming pal
Thank you! Hope to explore lots of new places this year.
Ok thanks, good videos 👍
No problem, thanks!

Awesome, I am about an hour away from Randelman. I will definitely keep this in mind, nothing better than checking out new trails that are near by.
One of the most fun videos I’ve watched. Really makes me want to get back out on the trails!
Thank you! I hope you find your way back out on the trails soon.
KLX! 👏 got a 22 and love it! Ride with buddies who have the crf’s, husky 350, ktm 350-500’s
Awesome community! From WI
How many miles you got on it? I’ve got 2,384 miles on my klx300
Rear tire not grabbing because youre dumping the clutch and not slipping it

That is awesome. Do you have any trouble getting the KLR through those trails at Uwharrie?

Oh yeah! I’ve been putting this 300 through tougher and tougher terrain too. I noticed mine overheating twice but it has never shut off on me.

Really enjoy your videos! Still trying to decide between the KLX300, CFR300 or WR250! 🏍️
Thank you! I’m not too familiar with the WR250 but I can say the KLX and CRF are so similar you can’t go wrong with either.

From someone who has owned all 3 in the past. KLX across the board is the winner.
If new get the klx, if used wr. The crf sucks. I’ve had all 3
This seems like solid advice 🤘
would love to link up.
The best review I have seen and on the klx300 makes it better, Awesome bike and good old guys.
got the supermoto version of this bike. really tempted to grab the street and trail next .really enjoying the platform.
I haven’t had a chance to ride the SM version. I’ve heard they are a lot of fun though.
@@DerekDualSport if you ever find yourself in indianapolis, id let ya give it a rip xD
Enjoyed the video, liked and subscribed 😊 have a great day
Thank you for watching 🙏

Thank you! Yeah I’m close to Winston Salem, I’m always down to meet up and ride. This was my second time at Uwharrie it’s really fun.
Awesome dude what would be the best way to get ahold of you?

I go to uwharrie a few times a year. This must be just outside of it or something? I'm jelly I don't know where this is!
Great video! Do you think your traction issue could be the tires?
Definitely I have recently switched to the Pirelli MT21 front Dunlop 606 rear tire Combo and traction is much better!

If you ride in any wet or muddy conditions off road and still want to be street legal I’d recommend the Pirelli MT21 in front Dunlop 606 in the rear.
What size tires did you decide to go with?
What trails are you riding here? I go to Uwharrie all the time and I don’t recognize this.
This was about 1.5hrs east of Uwharrie. Only the very last part of the vid was Uwharrie.

@zuesskroph awesome! If y’all ever see me out there let’s ride a trail or two. Look for the kawi green 300 with no graphics. 🤘
@@DerekDualSport hell yeah for sure, been looking for more ppl to ride with anyway.
Some serious mud there..I had D605's but the front would wash out unexpectedly, MT21's now much better 👍
Those unexpected wash outs on the 605’s have been painful 😅 I just mounted a MT21 on the front and can’t wait to try it out.
Tire pressures?
Time for good tires

I ran Tusk dsports on my xr650l in mud, they did really well.
How tall are you?
I am 6’6” 280lbs. I’ve done some work to the suspension.
