Okay hear me out:
First song: One of the lovers died, trying to save the other or someone innocent . Maybe they said ,” I will always come back to you.” but they never did. They died fighting in the war.
The other lover is grieving so they sang this song, full of regret. Thinking that only if she had stopped him then.
Second song: A few weeks passed by, she is angry at him. For leaving her behind, alone. She regrets falling in love with a kind man. Beloved by all. Maybe if he wasn’t so kind, he would be alive right now. Beside her.
Third song: She never remarried. She stayed in their little cottage. People would say that she would always be beside his gravestone, till dusk, staring again at dawn. Her raven black hair turned a silver gray. Her amber eyes turned into a ghostly white however she stayed beside his grave stone, until one day, she stopped.
A few days passed and the villagers were curious. Then they found out that she had passed away. Still holding on to the letter in which he had declared his love for her.
They buried her beside him on that small hill, under the sycamore tree.
A hundred years passes by: It was amazing how similar they looked to their past life. Her raven black hair still enchanting like the night sky and her deep amber eyes, held a depth incomparable. His green eyes held a warmth in it , and his light brown hair reminded you of the of the sun.
Both were drawn to the little hill under the sycamore tree .Legends say that the tree was hundreds of years old and that it housed the God of love. They would always miss each other by a few minutes. Always going to the hill, but fate never allowed them to meet.
Maybe the god of love had had enough. Thus he sang a melody, so sweet yet full of regret and despair . Only the two of them could hear it. It was coming for the sycamore hill. Curiosity got the best of them. She ran, as if someone was calling out to her. As if her entire existence was for this very moment.
There she saw, a man with light brown her, resembling the sun. He turned around hearing the ragged breath of someone behind him. Her amber eyes met his grey ones.
A tear dropped from hers, as did his.
They did not know each other in this life but somehow the love between them was carried on by their souls. They stood frozen in place until he started walking towards her. As did she. Then the walk turned into a run, then finally the lovers could finally rest in each other’s embrace.
There was warmth, their was relief and most important of all, they found peace. The sky rejoiced as did the God of Love. Such was a tale of our lovers, such was their love

Still hard to sing/listen to A Thousand Years because it was my first love’s and Is song(first relationship and also lgbt) I remember being 13 and laying on my bed beside them listening to this then we held hands.
