Dragonrdh I was there in the early to late 70s also. It was organised by "The Baron Lee" who called it the Kiwi Club, iv still got my yellow card in the red plastic holder. We always knew as The Railway. Best days and music of my life!
I saw some great acts at The Railway - Fleetwood Mac, Jethro Tull, Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation, Duster Bennett, Taste and more. Rough and ready, but a terrific venue!
I was at the venue when Pete Townshend, smashes his guitar, also if memory isn't failing I recall before the Who gig a young guitarist was presented he played using a vinyl disk as a backing track, anyone know who he was? Thanks for the flashback, jogged some memory cells.

I used to go to 'Railway' in the '70s, when they played reggae on a Saturday night. I think we paid 60p to get in, with a membership card.
Pub is not there any more. Demolished and replaced with a place of worship.
