Love the idea of having communicator and camera in one device, but... 2020 is around the corner but image quality coming out of EVO looks like from 2015... Seriously guys, I own 10C Pro and was looking for upgrade, but I will be skipping this edition. Bikes go fast and if you ride off-road there is a lot of head shaking and body movement involved too. 4K 60fps and basic image stabilisation is what biker needs in 2020.
Can this record while using an external battery pack? If so this will easily fix a lot of the issues I brought up with the GoPro and trying to capture Sena audio. Picture looks so much better than previous models. Great job A!
This video talks about “video tagging” on the 10C evo, but the manuals with the product don’t mention that anywhere. There is a non adjustable 3 minute loop mode, but that’s not tagging. I have to archive 3 minutes of video if I want to capture a 5 second moment? Do you not consult consumers on these products?
Im getting one but it will be a voice recorder/helmet cam. Im planning on using a Insta360 one R on the handlebars to do all the filming. Using only the 10c Evo for basic stuff.
@@decidedtoride You can mount it more forward yes that is true, but you will put it to the curve of the Helmet and your view will start to aim to the right. Plus I have a Modular Helmet and the Camera is all the way to the front.
I see a couple of issues I wish SENA would have considered in the design of the EVO... One is the position of the charge port.. It should have been on the bottom to help prevent water from rain getting into the port... Second and the one I find most poorly though out is that they have not standardized the mounting design across the camera and comm lines.. The ability to simply unplug the cam from one helmet and the comm only unit from a passenger helmet and switch them would have made it a simple matter to switch if you want to use a full face or a half face helmet dependent on weather at the driver helmet... I was also told by one of the SENA tech support people that Sena does not recommend using the 10c Evo on an open face helmet even though the supply a boom mic and sell a accessory kit with mount and mic/ear piece set for a second helmet with a boom mic ... Was told the unit will be to noisey in the wind due to audio processing design to use with an open face helmet...
Hi Paul. The 10C EVO is water resistant for inclement weather so it can be rainy conditions. If water enters the device while it is in use then it will automatically power off as a precaution. The 10C series attaches to helmets using a different mount so that the rider can adjust the angle of the camera on their helmet to capture the best view during their ride. Lastly, the 10C EVO can be attached to an open face helmet just as any other Sena headset would. The foam covers that come with the 10C EVO are used to protect the microphone from outside noise so that you can communicate and record your voice clearly. Thanks.

And I am a retired engineer... The 10c Pro has the port on the bottom.... As for the use on an open face just to be clear I spoke with one of your tech personnel through your chat system on your company web site and that is where I was told that the audio system design would not work well with an open face helmet and was not recommended... I also would suggest you folks put out a Comm Only unit compatible with the 10c that fits the 10c mount and plug set.. This would allow swaping the comm and cam units between driver and passenger helmets .. I understand the cam mounts are designed to position the cam for best view but the ability to swap comm only and cam between helmets would be a great selling point.. I still intend to purchase a 10c Evo before hitting the road this spring for a several month back country road trip across the US and plan on doing a VLOG and after looking at all the various options the 10c Evo has the simplest and cleanest design but just thought I would high light some design issues that I think would improve the product.. I like mines overall but hopefully with a firmware update, it’ll address some nuisances. Like why is it only 3 minutes for loop recording? The 10c is 5 minutes. Also it creates a lot of video files and it’s just confusing. For some reason it creates 2 duplicate video files, 1 with your regular recording video settings and another that seems of lower quality. Another small gripe is that it’s a glossy finish. Mine already has a lot of swirl marks from cleaning it.
Nice piece of kit. Main question for me and it’s a showstopper! Is this going to handle really wet weather or will it freak out like the 30K does in a rainstorm?
Oh, good to know. Perhaps I should have bought a 10C. So annoying when it gets wet. Driving in an unfamiliar place trying to keep the group together and suddenly you hear “Group intercom”. And then it works for a while and then again it keeps shouting at you “Group Intercom”. And then it just stops working until you dry everything out over night. Not sure if this is just a Sena 30K issue???

Also, image stabilisation would be great. Also, maybe put the recharge port where it won't get wet, like under the camera. Something to consider in the next version.
Just noticed the bitrates of EVO: 4K 30fps ~ 60Mbit/s, 1440p 30fps ~ 24Mbit/s, 1080p 60fps ~ 20Mbit/s. And PRO bitrates: 1440p 30fps ~ 32Mbit/s, 1080p 60fps ~ 32Mbit/s. WTF!? The only frame rate that makes sense on a motorcycle is 60fps and EVO bitrate is even lower than on PRO?

I have all 3 10c series camera's and the "PRO" to me is by far the Best. Now, the Prism. Give the Prism the updates of the 10c, make it were you can mount it side or front mount, up to 150 FOV and with it's remote control ability, Sena that would be a Game Changer. And it would really be easy to do all that.

I might actually get it. Just a little business advice don't have your competitor (gopro) in the shot. Not saying you can't use them but don't show you prospective customers. If you're gonna show your prospective customers the view from the EVO at least remove the gopro off the handle bars. Then redo the same scene from the gopro's point of view so your prospective customers never sees the gopro and the only action camera they'll ever see is the Sena. It's like that old business sales saying, if own a Ford dealership don't let your prospective customers see you driving your Chevy to your parking lot.
Totally different product - The Sena 10C Evo and 10C line is first and foremost a Bluetooth headset for communication and media device connectivity. The addition of the camera has not been done by any other communication company. I shot this with the GoPro for comparison and another perspective. Thanks for the view. -Alyssa
Sena I do have one question that’s preventing me from buying the EVO as of right now. Once the EVO is attached to the helmet, is there a way to adjust the lense so that the side of the helmet is not in the view in the screen shot? With all the EVO review videos I have watched the last few days all of them seem to be showing a small portion of their helmet on the right side of the screen. Anyway to adjust the lense so no helmet shot will be seen on the screen?
@@CortezwithaZ Hi Robert, I have seem some people use the additional rubber spacer provided for the clamp to push the camera out a bit further from the side of the helmet to reduce it showing. Or move the clamp up closer to the chin of the helmet, however depending on the helmet it may begin to turn the camera view more to the right instead of straight ahead. I have seen it done with some modifications to the camera position. The 10C Evo still does allow for the lens to be rotated and adjusted as well to keep the horizon straight. -Alyssa

Sena I built mounting brackets for my 10C and 10C pro to move the camera forward enough that the helmet does not show in the video. It’s pretty simple to do.
But only has 3 hours of battery with video music and audio. In my option not really worth the price when it comes to it. Longer battery life would be a great add on to the product and would change my mind if they could get it to last longer.
Image stabilization is still pretty bad. My 4 year old SJCAM 5000 cost 100 bucks and the stabilization is superior. Why can't SENA get with some camera company and fix this. I'd buy it in a minute if the video was better than my cheap Chinese camera.
Anyone here that can assist me? Ive bought the Sena 10C Evo few days ago and can't get it to connect to my phone through wifi/camera app. I changed the wifi to 2.4Ghz already to try if that would work other then the 5.0Ghz option. With no succes. I have a Xperia XZ Premium phone. I've connected through my wifi to the sena, entered the correct password, it's connected but everytime i go back to the camera app, it says it's not connected to a camera and i need to re-do the entire setup again. Done it 11 times now and i just put the device back in the box before i smack it into a wall haha :p. Thanks in advance!
You can put in a 128 GB card, and run out of battery before you even hit 8 GB of storage. And it has a built in battery that you can't pull over and quick swap. You have to charge it. That is terrible!
Well I gave it a shot and my 10C Pro performed better. The location of plug ins was thought out unlike this one where the power plugin is on top waiting for the next rain. I sent my 10C EVO back because it was defective. Sena missed the mark with this one. Nice picture poor performance and battery life.
Can't you guys just make a module that records the headset audio? That's all we really want. Anyone who's used video editing software before knows how easy it is to import a sound file to video, and 4k 30fps was cool 4 years ago. My 10 year old Sony can record 1080p60... and I record on my gopro in 4k60 with image stabilization, just check out my channel.... so I have to spend $400 for something that has worse video quality that a thing I already have, and isn't as good at audio as the 20s, let alone the 30k or 50s.... Don't get me wrong, this thing has it's purpose.. it's easy... but so is making a simple bluetooth module.
or even modify your existing bluetooth unit for the old gopro's... give that an SD card slot so it can function either with an older gopro, or by itself.... minimal R&D for a great updated product... hell maybe I'll even make it myself and sell it on amazon....

Yeah but did you improve the battery life? Because the battery on the 10C Pro is inadequate.
Due to the EVO being a shorter Camera than the two previous 10c's, the camera shows even more of the side of the Helmet.
You could mount it closer to the front of the helmet.

But can I record my video/audio while listing to music or my gps navigation voice at the same time? Someting im unable to do with my sena prism.
Yes. Do be mindful that the 10C Evo will record the Music you are listening too and GPS directions as well in addition to the audio and video. -Alyssa

I paid 400 for a device that isn’t mesh ready. So now I have to also get a mesh adapter to join a mesh group are you kidding me.
