She also has a criminal record of being arrested twice with one being for armed robbery! Also you can't post things to google because that's not how search engines work.
The problem is that she didn't commit what is overtly a crime. His house was listed as the address of his LLC, which is public. What she did is just unethical and dumb, not really illegal. There'd need to be actual action instead of the potential for action for it to be harassment.
-What did she do that was illegal? Showing up at someone's house (without going on to their property) is legal. Recording from public property is also legal. And, surprisingly, doxxing someone isn't generally illegal (though, it may qualify for stalking and/or harassment neither of which apply in this case). Nothing she did violated any laws as best I can tell.-
While the above is generally true, California actually does have law that may apply.

If UA-cam really considers this a "both sides" situation I can't imagine what it would take to make them actually do something.
It would need to cost them money. That's all that is required. UA-cam doesn't care because Sssniperwolf makes them enough money that they believe acting against her will cost them more money than doing nothing.

SSSniperwolf right now is driving a wedge between the creator community and UA-cam, yet they side with the girl hurting their business. This is absolutely disgusting that UA-cam believes that she's "too famous" to be punised. Jacksfilms needs justice as well as the minors she has been awful towards in the past. The fact that her channel is still up and running is baffling to me. UA-cam needs to actually get their ass up and do something about this monstrosity.

@@technounionrepresentative4274 I have no idea but she had someone who she believes was 16 flash her breasts to the camera, she did censor it but that doesn't stop the fact that she had it on her computer but I don't know if it legally would count as hosting it but ethically jts horrendous.
The reason I say "she believes" is because it did say it could be a simulated webcam (so a pre recorded video of someone hopefully older) but even if thats the case Sssniperwolf shouldn't have even went along after the other person said they were 16 regardless, and even then it doesn't definitely mean it wasn't a child
I'm not sure that constitutes CP, but it definitely constitutes solicitation of a minor. You can solicit a minor who doesn't even exist and go to prison.
Just a reminder that The Act Man got initially demonetized for making a JOKE about doxxing. Sniperwolf ACTUALLY doxxes someone and gets a slap on the hand. UA-cam had the perfect opportunity to show people they don’t play favorites and they fumbled the ball on this.(side note, Doxxing is illegal in the state of California, both of which Sniperwolf and Jacksfilms live in.)

The fact that UA-cam considers valid criticism of their preferred creators comparable to doxxing speaks volumes. Their official statement is even more galling when you consider that Jack would have never created his parody channel if UA-cam had held Sniperwolf accountable for her blatant freebooting and habitual violation of TOS. Instead, UA-cam made her a brand ambassador, promoting her on social media and inviting her to speak at creator conferences. Sniperwolf is a bad person, but this entire mess is UA-cam's fault.
This may be outside of your usual content, but I think it's still appropriate for the channel. I see this as a problem for anyone trying to make a living off this platform. Leah is a terrible person, yet UA-cam still supports her because she brings in more cash. This tells bigger channels they can endanger smaller creators without consequence. There needs to be backlash for this.

What makes me feel like she has no sense of protecting herself is that she claimed Jack was only five miles from where she films as well. Take all the creepy stuff you said her followers might do to Jack and apply it to all the creepy followers that wouldn't have any problem just tracking down where she is to do something awful. She may have directly doxxed Jack, but her idiocy also put herself in danger.
yeah if she did somehow finds jack info by a single google search i doubt she was smart enough to hide her own and even if she did. wouldnt be hard to find her car which has been in multiple of her videos or something. also 4chan was crazy enough to find a flag using planes, shadows and stars. i doubt they couldnt find her using google and the info she gives out for free.

We all KNOW that doxxing is bad, but most of us have never experienced the horror, and therefore can never truly relate. There is, is called laws. Posting someone's address to a group of people you have convinced this person is your enemy or bad, in hopes people go there and harm them, is called intimidation, possibly also attempted murder in the 1st degree.

Case in fucking point the armed home invasion of Meg Turney & Gavin Free that ended with police killing the assailant in their driveway. The guy chose to do it for no other reason than jealousy, and they hadn't even gotten publicly doxxed. Jack is absolutely well within his rights to pursue a legal resolution because people have done worse for less to other public figures, and we've seen what rabid and misguided "fans" can do when they think they'll get noticed and praised by their faves, even as far back as John Lennon being murdered for "being the reason the Beatles broke up".

Only way to force them to do something is threatening their money. Encouraging Jacksfilms to take legal action against them and Sssniperwolf and making this more public outside the internet is the only way. Doing nothing will only increase the chances for tragedy.

As much as I’d like there to be a mass exodus of creators, or having them turn off monetization, I know that A. That’s very unlikely to happen because a lot of creators are actually living off their UA-cam income! And B. Even if they did turn off monetization, UA-cam would still be getting money because they put ads on everything and receive all revenue from ads on non-monetized videos!
And while it may be just as dangerous to take legal action against any big creator and big company, I think that is the best option Jacksfilms has right now (once he and his family are safe!) to finally get something out of this!
Taking legal action against UA-cam won't get anywhere. You'd need millions of dollars and luck to even get it into discovery. And millions more to get it to a trial, at which point you're multiple years on, Jack would have ruined his career by going against UA-cam, and it'd probably be dismissed since the guidelines are vague enough that it's open for interpretation.
Looking at the past handling on similar situations, as well as the severity of the implications, you'd be right that UA-cam has the moral responsibility to do something more than they have. But that doesn't make it a legal responsibility, and especially not a legal responsibility so certain that a government can force UA-cam to act on it.
Suing UA-cam will only accomplish one thing, and that's make Jack lose his career and spend tons of his money.

More people need to speak out about this and put pressure on UA-cam. That's the only way for things to change.
yeh except the only problem is that more we watch, the more we post, the more we comment, the more ads we see and consume, and the more engagement we drive the more money they make. the only thing which would really move the needle would be a MASSIVE boycott, and I do mean it would have to be like... millions of users and creators. and the creators ain't gonna do that because they still gotta get paid.
We did manage to get them to make a statement by just posting so it's not impossible. The thing is it needs to be a sustained movement against them.
Most creators are giving up not that UA-cam has put out a statement accepting it as the final decision, but if they just kept pressing they could do more.
I doubt sniperwolf learned anything from this situation and might actually benefit from it depending on how Jacksfilms continues from here.

His adress isn't even in Google. According to Jacksfilms himself.
@@glonx639the only way she could have found it on Google is by pulling his LLC, which takes more effort than just searching it. It's also terrifying, because anyone with an LLC on youtube who didn't link it to a PO box is now at risk, doubly so because no one with any real power in the situation has actually created any consequences for this behavior.

This is the same BS I dealt with in high school, where the administration had a “zero tolerance” policy for fighting, so a few bullies beat the crap out of some poor kid just trying to get through his day, trying to do well so he could succeed in life. But he ended up suspended too, just because some bully decided to take out his issues with low self esteem on him. His perfect attendance record was broken, his academic record tarnished for being a victim who wouldn’t have fought back even if he could have. The world is messed up.
I am appreciative of every voice that continues to speak out about this. The blatant favouritism is horrendous. Sssniperwolf endangered Jacksfilms safety, and has set a terrifying precedent in this space. It basically gives a greenlight that so long as you make UA-cam enough money, you can do whatever you like, post whatever you want on and off platform.

They didn't even remove the monetization on her videos. Someone used a plug in to show whether or not a video is monetized and it shows her videos are still, in fact, still monetized.
She literally walked away scott free!
you know what's even worse? the temporary monetization suspension doesn't even make her stop getting paid, it just makes it so that her NEW videos don't generate money. the ones before this are still fucking monetized and you can use yt extensions to fact check this.

I think the scariest thing in this whole thing is the fact that SniperWolf is completely getting away with it while Jack hasn't posted anything in DAYS. She gets to continue stealing content with ads and yet the guy she DOXXED has to deal with all the shit from this? He needs to file charges, there's enough proof for this to be a legitimate case.
It really saddens me people are trying to both sides this. I recently saw a creator who admitted they didn't know jackfilms content claim that his videos toward her were harassing without watching first (they did at least say doxxing was too far). Had to hit the unsub button for that garbage take, but its a good indicator for how outside people with limited context don't release the content jack was making was a fair criticism of her content.
I know the whole story and I stand by that take. May not be dictionary harassment, but it's definitely cyber bullying of sorts to dedicate a whole channel to bashing one person for a year. What sssniperwolf did was worse, but Jacksfilms definitely brought that attention on himself. They're both childish

This is definitely the point where the drama dies down and everyone moves on. And I hate that. UA-cam is expecting us all to forget about this whole ordeal, and they're probably right. Everyone is just going to forget about this and they really shouldn't. We should all keep spreading the word about reaction "content". Please don't give up on this.

@Emily D. Baker did a breakdown of the doxing laws in California. Worth checking out for anyone interested! There's definitely a legal route Jack/John can take, and since he's actually an adult, we're not likely going to hear from him if it is what he chooses to do.
I hope he does. That her behavior is being ignored is really disturbing to me. And it irks me to no end that if the genders were reversed, the response would be SO different. I thought we were doing better than that. So disappointing.
If he does, chances are that he’ll have to kiss his money and possibly everything he owns goodbye and will have to start again from scratch. Nobody wants to start from scratch after losing all their money and maybe their possessions in what they considered a dumb/awful route.

Anecdote: In 2020, my boyfriend at the time lost his YT channel, which dealt largely with cartoons and featured Scooby-Doo very heavily, due to DMCA takedowns.
On the scale of responses "not editing copyright clips enough" and "LITERALLY ENDANGERING YOUR FELLOW CREATORS because you didn't like what they had to say", I just find myself equal parts outraged, bitterly amused, and just...depressed.
I'm struggling with phrasing this, so i guess all im trying to say is I hope that JacksFilms is doing okay.

This is her karma snowball that starts the avalanche.

The whole modern idea of not taking sides is gross in a lot of situations especially when one side is obviously wrong
And yet people keep protecting this company and shift the blame to everyone else. These actions need to be condemned. UA-cam's response needs to be condemned. This crazy chick needs to be arrested. This company is not our friend and continues to prove it.
The concept of “we don’t have to do anything because it didn’t happen on our platform” is absolutely wild. You know who did a bad thing off-platform? EDP. You know who lost his platform? EDP. And that was the right thing to do! But apparently crimes are okay once you hit a follower/view threshold and I’m dying to know what it is
I'm glad to see so many creators talking about this. I truly believe the only way to make youtube do anything is to speak out and not shut up. I think they want to wait it out until the next big "drama" comes out so the pressure is moved elsewhere. This is a good way to really put the pressure on, and I really hope it makes a difference.

“On both sides” makes me think of Trump talking about “very fine people on both sides,” when one side was Nazis, and one of those Nazis killed a woman during a rally.
Being as one of my friends who was a streamer had someone showed up to their house and they died in a "house fire" after a Twitter dispute, I do not find that UA-cam is brushing this off okay. I hope Jack and his wife will be okay. This might not be your usual content, but thank you for voicing this.
I didn't know about sssniperwolf before she doxxed jacksfilms, and my first thought was about how terrible youtube is for not taking any reasonable action against her, but then I found out shortly afterwards that she's made content where she tries to get minors flash themselves and twerk for her on omegle and I'm genuinely dumbfounded that she had a platform for this event to happen in the first place. UA-cam is fucking terrible.
Seeing Scott upset is like seeing that cool English or History teacher lose his temper in class one day.

Normally I think UA-cam drama is stupid, and irrelevant but this is an important thing to talk about. I also find it really gross how she tries to use her gender to get out of it. Doxxing is terrible for EVERYONE regardless of sex.
It's even worse when you consider the fact that the first freebooter Jack knocked off the platform was a dude. She has no legs to stand on here.

I put this video on while taking a quick bathroom break from watching the movie "Us" for the first time - and I paused it right after the home invasion sequence. It really has contextualized Sssniperwolf's behavior in my mind in a really viscerally horrifying way.

Make whatever videos feel pertinent and important for you to make. It's ridiculous but unsurprising that UA-cam have said what they said. They need to ban her off the platform entirely. Doxxing is THE line. I hope people pressuring them and making a stink while make that or SOMETHING actually meaningful happen.

Currently watching this whole drama unfold has seriously harmed my confidence in making videos for a platform that is completely fine with people like xQc and Snipperwolf existing. What's the point in making videos when they could quite literally freeboat my content and profit from my hardwork.
Hell, even making them off site is risky, since most of the stolen content is from other platforms. It makes me really nervous for my future, since I need to start making an easily accessible online portfolio, and I was planning on using UA-cam and social media because it was free. Now... who knows? I'll probably have to pay to use a protected portfolio site, which are expensive and hard for people to passively find.
It's so weird to see UA-cam going through the same growing pains academic journals and news media did over 100 years ago. It's twice as weird considering internet law makes taking editorial control functionally illegal.
The second UA-cam said "both sides", I would sue UA-cam for defamation of Character. And I know proving defamation may be so difficult that it may be thrown out on day 1 but, sometimes the principle of the action is more important than the success of the action.
The only reason why we got an "apology" at all from Lia is because YT told her it'd lessen her punishment, you can't convince me otherwise.
Imagine if a male creator was stalking a female creator to this degree and youtube responded exactly the same way. People would be OUTRAGED. Smdh. Our society is garbage.
With the content of their tweet and the timing, I find it incredibly hard to believe it was just poor timing of a scheduled tweet or someone in charge of the account not being aware of what's going on.

Okay this video is wonderful and your perspective is really valuable and I'm genuinely really glad you're talking about it, BUT ALSO: I have pants in the same pattern as your chair, and I absolutely needed to share that.
This is the reason why I want UA-cam be bought to Court or the senate committee so that everything can be cleared out. There are so many issues other than what happened here that's needed to be discussed so that a line can not be crossed or violated.
I don't love Jack's videos, they got kinda annoying TBH, but doxxing him is so out of line that any sympathy SSSniperwolf might have garnered immediately fades in light of her actual crime. UA-cam's response was... Not good. This whole situation is just frustrating.

I was thinking about getting Premium because I was beginning to feel guilty about using adblock/wanting my money to go to creators I spend so much time watching, but now I think I'll just keep using adblock till they lock me out again. and again. and again. and again lol

SS Sniper Wolf had gotten desperate because the JJJacksfilms channel was actually working, he's successfully spread awareness of her theft and how to copyright strike it, her videos now routinely drop below 8 minutes or get delisted altogether. Hopefully, even if he won't or can't continue running it anymore, this situation will continue to draw attention to what bore it.
Agree with everything you said in the video and I'm glad you made it! While it is a little outside your usual content, this is obviously important and not just "drama". It might even be especially helpful that people who don't cover drama stuff talks about this, since their audiences (including me) are more likely to be unaware of this stuff than people who do watch drama.
Also, totally get why you might not want to film outside now, but this video looks good, so filming on your phone sometimes to make it more chill might be a great idea if it'd be less stressful :3

UA-cam needs to do better and honestly the more people that talk about it the better. *edit* anyone and I mean ANYONE who dumbs this down to "Drama" are actually harming everyone including themselves in this case.
I think one important thing is that Jack's push had started WORKING not that long before this - creators were being contacted and claiming videos, Sniperwolf was having to cut videos after the fact to remove certain TikToks (sometimes therefore making the video too short for midrolls) - he was starting to actually make ground

Funny feeling that if you turned evil tomorrow and started your villain origin story and did the exact same thing she did to someone, they'd terminate your channel faster than Scooby and Shaggy run away from fake ghosts without warning, without a message, and without a second thought.
sadly there was no old man with a mask at the end of this. UA-cam does nothing for small tubers for years. they got heat and all I get is small tubers. YT sucks at course correction. just like there should be a physical team to deal with random demonitization, and a myriad of standards that are too numerous to say in this one comment

I appreciate this video so much cause honestly I was thinking of becoming a CC on youtube but after watching this happened basically live defiantly not doing it makes all my time watching how to become a CC and trying to pick a niche for a channel go up in smoke because who’s knows i might piss off a larger CC and get doxed just because I hurt their feelings or something I love this video and you for making it this situation is very disturbing and eye opening

Thank you for doing this, and for taking the time to have actual understanding of what/why Jacksfilms is doing. He has really strong beliefs about fair use and parody, and keeps his criticism focused on the work she is posting to UA-cam. The victim blaming from UA-cam is outrageous, especially since they almost certainly knew about his parody channel before this and didn’t feel it was necessary to ask him to stop.
