You're chilling. You were talking about video ideas and I think there could be a video talking about what boxes your team wants checkmarks in to be good this format. For example, does your team have wide guard, does it have weather control, etc.
@MoxieBoostedBattlePass I know you probably won’t see this but for college I have to do an ethnographic (pertaining to culture and cultural beliefs) essay, and besides defining how it is a culture I have to have a central theme or argument and as I couldn’t think of anything other than how pokemon is largely enjoyed by many different age demographics, I couldn’t help but think of the competitive scene leading me to you ( with you being one of the only two competitive players I watch). I was wondering if I can interview over emails.
Rusty Bottle Caps need to be a thing next gen bc I can't run my Calyrex as Shadow Rider due to having 31 atk IVs, or Ice Rider due to not having 0 spe IVs.
Okay is having 31 attack IVs on a calyrex Shadow Rider really that big of a deal though? Like confusion is not that common and anytime you even think there's going to be a dark move you might as well just tera fairy or fighting
@@grald1195 bro foul play is really common in this metagame, specially against caly-shadow. I think the difference from 7 atk ivs to 8 atk ivs is like a 3hko to a 2hko it's pretty insane

Let's be honest guys, I can't understand how Incineroar doesn't learn Howl... Plz GF, keep the tradition of buffing Incineroar each generation by giving him Howl in gen 10 🙏
I got into 1400s with Wide Guard Chestnaught, since all super effective hits on it are usually spread moves(glacial Lance, dazzling gleam, bleakwind storm, expanding force), and resists most popular ground coverage(high horse power on Ice Rider and earth power on Terrapagos). With taunt/protect and iron defence + body press it can set up against any single target physical attacks
So something I had thought of, that very well could be trash but here it is anyways. Since Araquanid has filler moves in its set in most cases, could one of the moves it runs be power split? The only reason I even think of it, is because 99% of the time it’s getting its main value from wide guard and liquidation. In a format where a lot of restricted mons are running clear amulet, Araquanid’s middling to poor attack stats allow it act as damage mitigation without having to take multiple turns to knock off the amulet. Could pressure a switch if suddenly your mon has its damage/boosting potential cut significantly. It also has the benefit of pumping up your attack stat in a lot of cases and creating more damage potential for your already really strong liquidations. It definitely errs on the side of gimmicky, but it’s an interesting niche that I think could use exploring. Obviously problems with the move involve basically requiring trick room+fake out support to actually get mileage out of it, and in a decent amount of cases, you may just get more value raw from clicking liquidation and dealing damage instead.
I like using mixed life orb iron valiant with moonblast, close combat wide guard and protect cause even if it gets intimidated i can still spam stab moonblast
I'm glad I finally got around to watching this video. I wonder if Stonjourner is being under rated with being able to protect the team with wide guard while giving a passive life orb boost to its partner with its ability power spot while on the field. Some big damage potential
I use an armarouge set that has ally switch along with wide guard. It's the only mon to learn both and by equipping a red card with plenty of bulk, you can really mess up your opponent's strategy.
fun fact: regigigas learns wide guard. do with this information what you will. Edit: not to give too many ideas, but Medicham and weezing are also in the game

I'm not so convinced about wide guard lunala. After you use your meteor beam you get walled by so many mons, I'd rather have some coverage like moonblast or psychic to not get walled and at least hit for neutral. And also, since mienshao pairs so well with shadow rider calyrex, why wouldn't the other psychic-ghost legendary be good with it? You run wide guard on mienshao while lunala goes for its setups, I think that'd work great
Moxie, I hear you say Meinsho is one of Caly-S best partners (probably to beat darks or whatever), but what would you do for Expanding Force? Would you just forgo that move on Caly and just spam AB and don't bother with anything else? Would you just terrain and switch to Meinsho or just don't bother with EF?
You could just not run EF. Wolfe won Honolulu with just Psychic. Or you can just run both. Mishi got 12th in a recent online event with Scarf Mienshao and Indeedee (though their Caly ran Psyshock).
Just out of curiosity what happens if you have 2 Pokemon with wide guard and alternate it every turn, does it have a chance to fail or does it work every time?
moxie doesn't understand the true meta. when i dragon dance with my necrozma and switch in flamigo to copy the boosts, my opponent (who didn't accept open team sheets) is terrified so they click their spread moves and i simply wide guard then tera ground eq them to death. also i can't wait to see you on the fridge, this is insane
I want to run murkrow tailwind thunder wave foul play and maybe icy wind but I’m struggling fitting it in teams that don’t get blasted by shadow rider. Thoughts?
Simple solution is _don’t run Murkrow._ It’s not good lol. The Crow hasn’t been relevant since the beginning of Series 1 (there is no Reg A), and Whimsicott is strictly better, having access to Encore. Even then Whimsicott is extremely niche when compared to the Genes, especially Torn, which does almost everything it does better. Teambuilding is very much a way to express yourself, and if you’re struggling to find use for a Pokémon, it’s usually better to try something else completely. I built a Dialga-O light Trick Room team, and was just never able to justify bringing my Cresselia to games over my other Pokémon. I scrapped her and added Iron Boulder instead, and the team felt SO much better afterwards. If you _want_ to run Murkrow, try to build around it, rather than try to slot it into teams, but even then it’ll basically just be you trying to force it to work, which doesn’t ever feel good.
