I think the biggest thing this Mania did for me was remind me that wrestling is supposed to be fun. That main event was a crazy, silly, overbooked mess...but it was a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Wrestling just feels fun to watch again and I haven't had that much fun watching wrestling in a very very long time.
I've been anticipating this video ever since Night 2 ended... As fun (and wild) as the on-the-street reviews were, there's simply no substitute for a calm, relaxed breakdown from Sane Simon himself 🙌 thank you for the entertainment.
I think this Wrestlemania certified Roman’s spot on the Mt. Rushmore of wrestling. He was just phenomenal all weekend and finally losing that title I think will put him in a different stratosphere star power wise.
I’m only 2 years older than Wrestlemania but as a lifelong wrestling fan I’ve seen every single one and this was, undoubtedly, the best yet. I’m so excited for the future of wrestling (not just WWE) and am very grateful be living in this era 🙌🏽 PS. Simon, when you watch the PLE on Peacock one day you’ll learn why Bayley’s entrance was themed that way. They will not be main eventers if they aren't main eventing for main title after mania is the best time for fresh matches and talents and now that jey is done with jimmy He can actually get this single run going
I can see them having a Jey vs Damian title match at Backlash but ultimately I see them giving the title back to Drew at Clash at the Castle in front of his home crowd.
First WrestleMania my family all watched together since... 28? Absolutely fantastic, there wasn't a bad match AFAIC, and the top card was phenomenal. Yo Simon! So the whole Bayley Egyptian thing stems from an Egyptian Museum over here in San Jose that she apparently used to frequent often. They mentioned live that it was a park, but one doesn't exist like that around here. I used to go to the same high school (Independence) that she did around the same time and think I graduated a year before her, but we never met.

So much great stuff. Mania 40 also lived up to the name of the biggest WrestleMania ever and it delivered.
The biggest thing this Wrestlemania did for me was really getting my wife to enjoy the show as well. We share a lot of interests but wrestling has always been just a me thing. She saw how excited I was Saturday morning as I ran down the Stand and Deliver card and the cards for both night and decided to watch with me. I had to play a few video packages here and there and connect the dots on the stories but she was hooked. By the end of night 2, she was acknowledging the Tribal Chief, booing the Final Boss and being extremely happy for Cody finishing his story. This is easily in my top 3 favorite Wrestlemanias and I can’t wait to see where we go from here.
Great commentGreat comments and thank you for all of them. I am surprised with a lot of these videos and how disappointed many people were to see the undertaker instead of stone cold. As a whole wrestlemania was a really good show 8.5 almost 9 out of 10. There was a few things that I was disappointed in mainly the Uso match and Dawson Rhodes, not being able to be there to be in the ring with his brother. I did like how the two nights float into each other like consequences from one night into the other but I thought that there was more shenanigans in the tag match then there was in the bloodline rules match . It just seems like there was a few were run-ins or whatever or you were cheating in the second night. By the way, Simon, my friend Cole lives in Athens Georgia. He’s got a wrestling group called, classic wrestling, and when they do wrestling shows they call local rock ‘n’ roll band to play with them. You should check them guys out if you can while you’re in the United States.
Not related to the video at all but I just wanted to show Simon some appreciation. Plus I’m slightly drunk so you know it’s real. I basically stopped watching wrestling after Lawler vs cole, the big dog Roman push was probably my last straw. watching whatculture (particularly simon) was my only interaction with wrestiling for years. Simon being so positive about both wwe and Aew got me to watch wrestiling again, and I honestly tried to get into Aew multiple times even though it’s not really what appeals to me (Aew is still great) which wouldn’t have happened without Simon. Seeing Simon be positive and happy on every video, for every promotion and for every wrestler just feels good and made it feel like the world of pro wrestling was a good place to be again, as opposed to (respectfully) 80% of wrestling UA-cam that is just some white guy screaming obscenities into a microphone. I know it’s been said before but as I get older I’ve learned that happiness is a lot harder to come by, it’s something you have to make for yourself, and seeing Simon chase his dreams and creating happiness for us but also himself is really inspiring. I’m not sure if Simon will see this but if you do I want to genuinely thank you for being the happy internet wrestling man. We all have bad days but you never let it show and that’s very commendable, so thank you. You may not realize it but you’ve gotten a lot of people through bad days and you might not ever show it here (and that’s ok) but if you’re ever having a bad day I want you to know that there’s a lot of us here who care and support you as a human being. I might be in the minority here, but I wish WrestleMania had more backstage segments and in ring appearances by legends and other members of the roster. Having match after match is awesome, but for WrestleMania, it's good to have a fun spectacle.

IC and US titles should be considered “alternative” titles opposed to the world titles, not just mid card titles, even though that’s what they are but with the prestige of both belts I think each title should have its own sorta uniqueness
What I did really enjoy about this Mania was that it left us with open endings , planted seeds for the future and lit the fire under new feuds, where as it used to be very much the full stop ending of stories , really looking forward to where the era of HHH takes us, My only criticism for the 2 nights was that it just didnt have enough crazy entrances , as expected the 2 live "singing" acts were terrible but just HHH style riding in on a lion craziness seemed to be missing , we got a hard to hear orchestra for Roman , nothing at all for Cody ?? and 4 dudes randomly carrying in Bayley for the 1st 10 feet
Something I havent heard a lot of people talk about is that this wrestlemania had a through line that really connected most of the championship matches. It wasnt really rhere for Rhea v Becky but all of the others had a moment where their emotions outside of their match interfered and cost them the match. It was a bit silly with Paul, KO, Viper but when they both went for the pin and realized that only one could win. But their focus on each other as the true threat and letting paul off the hook cost them both. Seth his hatred for Roman, his blind willingness to do whatever it takes to stop the Bloodline, he gets destroyed in the Tag team, and isnt really able to go at Drew. Drew's hatred of CM Punk cost him the title mere moments later. Iyo lost to Bayley, because of the disrespect and desire to hurt Bayley, to embarass Bayley, she kept not going for the win, but to injure her old friend. Then in the main evnt, that was the entire story, getting revenge costing people their champonshjns
I'm NOT the Biggest Sheamus Fan out there, I'm sure. However, Sheamus is Under Appreciated by Us Fans, but he really is stupendous with his story telling. That said, I'm sorry to Disagree with another Bald Brother Simon Miller, but, Sheamus cannot go after the US Title. LA Knight gets that One. Sheamus goes after the IC Title, taking it off Sami, then Losing it to Chad Gable.
What if we get Rock come back in time to fight Cody for the title at Summerslam (is that too soon?) in a No DQ match, then we see Roman for the first time since Mania as he interferes in their match and beats up Rock. His motives for doing this are that he wants his title back, and wants to take it back from Cody, the man who ended his legendary reign. This sets up Rock vs Roman at WM41
Steve has already said he was not called at all for this wm. I think its better for undertaker to do it. It was a passing of the torch since takers been gone there hasnt been that guy in the locker room and now its taker saying its cody
Yeah I think the Stone Cold stuff was a really well played bait and switch. After all everyone was expecting Austin to show up stun every bloodline member and beer bash afterwards. Anyone that says they knew it would be Undertaker is lying.
"the rock and Cody talked for like 45 minutes" My fiance and I put Raw on while I was cooking. I finished cooking, ate dinner, and went to work on some video editing for UA-cam later this week and when I finished and came back, they were STILL talking There's no way that promo was only 45 minutes
I was there and it was actually pretty annoying how the fans wouldn't let Rock talk. They just booed for like 5-10 minutes and I was like get on with it because you know it's gonna be a long promo anyway. Rock won't cut his shit because you're booing so you're just delaying the show.
I don't think there were any instant classic matches outside of the main event. The triple threat was good, and Sami and Gunther could've gone longer but was still really good. The overall reception of the show seems a bit exaggerated from a match quality standpoint imo.
I reckon The Rock handed Cody Rodes His or a "Hall of Fame" Ring as to pass on the Torch ,so to speak and a BIG Thankyou for your enteraining reports ,not just Wrestlemania ,but through out the year l loveyour humour lol thanks again Cheers Joe Wareing
Its such a little thing for me but I like that they're seemingly phasing out the word Universal. They often call him the Undisputed WWE champion, or just WWE champion. The lower third occasionally has the mouthful of a moniker however
When you did your night one up and down to talk about Becki having strep throat and then you said you weren’t sure what that is. Do you not have strep throat in the UK? If you do, you must call it something else.
I agree, I think Chad Gable will turn heel... and it will move him up on the cards.. he will rival Sami, and maybe even get into feuds with Jey and Ricochet and the such
Do you see the Bloodline betraying Roman ever? Won’t be surprised if Paul gets a new Paul Heyman guy. But other than that, what will happen with the group? Maybe Paul takes Solo and leaves Roman?
I wish Hogan and Austin (+ any other Samoan) had been involved instead of 'Taker, for purely storytelling purposes. That would have just made it perfect.
i was just thinking... when he said dont break my heart again, i think he meant the main event against roman, he gave rock the spot and then said screw this an took it back...... AN NEW WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION .....
I still scratch my head that "Roman should win because what does Cody do once he's the champ" is an actual take. Like surely that argument can be made for anybody, the implication there being that Roman would hold the title for the rest of eternity and thats somehow preferable? This might be a bit outside of the box, but I think Cody should start by having some wrestling matches.
I think the biggest thing this Mania did for me was remind me that wrestling is supposed to be fun. That main event was a crazy, silly, overbooked mess...but it was a hell of a lot of fun to watch. _Meant alot tho. Hope we can figure something out. I don't know what that could be. If your interested that is. That was the point._
Jimmy v Jey was awful but if that's as bad as this 'mania gets... Than this was a good Mania
I don't think there were any instant classic matches outside of the main event. The triple threat was good, and Sami and Gunther could've gone longer but was still really good. The overall reception of the show seems a bit exaggerated from a match quality standpoint imo.
I reckon The Rock handed Cody Rodes His or a "Hall of Fame" Ring as to pass on the Torch ,so to speak
and a BIG Thankyou for your enteraining reports ,not just Wrestlemania ,but through out the year
l loveyour humour lol
thanks again
Cheers

I wonder if wm was indoors how night 1 woulda been received by the fans
Its such a little thing for me but I like that they're seemingly phasing out the word Universal. They often call him the Undisputed WWE champion, or just WWE champion. The lower third occasionally has the mouthful of a moniker however
Did you borrow Drew McIntyre’s beard polish while you over there
When you did your night one up and down to talk about Becki having strep throat and then you said you weren’t sure what that is. Do you not have strep throat in the UK? If you do, you must call it something else.
I agree, I think Chad Gable will turn heel... and it will move him up on the cards.. he will rival Sami, and maybe even get into feuds with Jey and Ricochet and the such
He gave Cody Dusty's hof ring. That's what it'll end up being, but I'm not sure why Cody didn't have it to begin with.
Sheamus needs a character similar to Drew McIntyre when he returns
great video!
ps I miss rock reacts :/
Wrestlemania 17 greatest of all time hands down.
Wait, what? Dragunov was on Raw?
I really wish Dustin could have been there, but I know AEW wouldnt allow it. When the sheild theme hit i was surprised for sure!
Cody v Rock on Netflix debut.
No need to wait until WM.
Do you see the Bloodline betraying Roman ever?
Won’t be surprised if Paul gets a new Paul Heyman guy. But other than that, what will happen with the group? Maybe Paul takes Solo and leaves Roman?
I want randy the world title picture for one of the titles he is being wasted in the mid card
Lol Simon was born in Luton no wonder hes an Arsenal fan
Holy Crap! I live in Jersey!
In my opinion, Kevin Hart should’ve been the celebrity guest commentator instead of Snoop Dogg because Kevin is from Philly
For me, Drew was one of the best parts of Wrestlemania. Now the Cody won, my attention is fully on Drew and whatever Roman will do next.
I am thinking the rock has to punish roman now because of what Cody did.
And that's breaking his family. His heart. 😂
Can you do a video where you just say smack a down for like 10 minutes straight?
Glorious
Roman Has to return at summerslam. That stadium would go crazy
💎
helll no just stay away
I still scratch my head that "Roman should win because what does Cody do once he's the champ" is an actual take. Like surely that argument can be made for anybody, the implication there being that Roman would hold the title for the rest of eternity and thats somehow preferable?
This might be a bit outside of the box, but I think Cody should start by having some wrestling matches.
Now it's time to push Asuka to the top again, and let's give the Phenomenal AJ Styles a come back!
