This is overall a stellar video, but I wanted to add a few things missed about Preservation Evoker. 1. Spiritbloom is the main burst healing tool on a 20s cooldown but also serves as a powerful supplement to sustained healing, thanks to the S2 tier bonus (40% of healing as a 4s hot). 2. Dispels - Cauterizing Flame also clears Curses in addition to Bleed, Poisons, and Diseases. It can be combined with Stasis to clear either 3 consecutive single debuffs or clear the entire group's debuffs at once, a severely underrated tool. 3. Utility/Externals - Time Dilation is great for tank or priority target survivability as it staggers the next 10s of incoming damage over another 10 seconds and can a huge but indirect tool for spot healing. Zephyr is a group-wide 20% AOE damage reduction and is a fantastic asset to most encounters. IMO Preservation is the strongest sustained AND burst healer, even over Holy Paladin. The Evoker has an answer for nearly every situation. That said, I agree with the sentiment about Holy Paladin's strength over Preservation. I'm a bit biased as an Evoker main but play most healing specs competently. Again, great video! Huge fan of the move to PvE content.
If you're telling me that Cauterizing Flame can be spread with Echo, then I will be really mad that I didn't figure that one sooner - otherwise, how the hell do you clear the entire group with Stasis + CF?
@@mbazoka If you cast CF on a target with no debuff on them it will not go on cooldown, but it will be rememberd by stasis. So stasis and then CF on 3 different targets and when the debuff goes out on the grop you press it again to remove the debuff from those 3 players. Very niche
@@mbazoka Nah, unfortunately echo doesn’t duplicate the dispel part of CF, but it may duplicate the really tiny heal it does. To use Cauterizing Flame on the group, pop stasis and use CF on 3 different allies BEFORE they have a dispellable debuff. Once the whole group gets it, like the poison from the NL worm boss, use Stasis again and it’ll hit the same targets. You can still use it normally as well. Fun fact: if stasis casts your dispel or CF but there’s nothing to remove, then it resets the cooldown. In S1 Algethar Academy, you could triple CF stasis the tank before Crawth’s first bleed. First bleed you use CF normally, then the second you use the triple cast from Stasis which resets the cooldown, and finally cast it regularly the 3rd time.
having played every healer sans paladin this season, agree with the majority of this. Especially agree with MW being a sleeper after picking it up the last few weeks. Mana efficiency is non-existent in heavy ST healing, but its damage potential, ability to regen mana, and sustain healing are all exceptional. It NEEDS a group that are willing to use their defensives and health pots to help with spot healing, making it feel less good in lower keys. (it also needs blizz to buff revival. thats just a mass dispel)
@@Zerg777 but when sheiluns can do the same amount of healing after a 26s recharge, and more healing if allowed a full 40s, 3 minute revivals feel rather underwhelming, and with the current spikyness of health bars, sheiluns is almost always the better cast
I don't know if anyone said that already, but as a holy priest, i never had any problem mitigating high damage just by making the following macros: #showtooltip Fade /cast Fade /cast [target=player] Power Word: Shield #showtooltip Desperate Prayer /cast Desperate Prayer /cast Fade /cast [target=player] Power Word: Shield And due to the low cd of "Fade", you pretty much have a strong defensive anytime you need it with these macros.
Mistweaver needs some serious attention in the mana consumption department. They don't have an issue with healing. They have an issue with mana. Mana Tea shouldn't be a mana consumption ability, it should be a mana regen ability and it would fix like 70% of the issues with the class in keys. You have some serious bursting potential with the class and you're scared of pumping because you know clicking Vivify more than 3 times with Enveloping mists means you're OOM. (Exageration) This isn't good class design at all. You also only really focused on Fistweaving builds. Sheilun's Gift can one-shot everyone in the party back to 100% HP if it's at full stacks, so Revival isn't Mistweaver's only tool for group wide heals. It's actually an exceedingly reliable ability on a fairly short cooldown.
Forgot to mention evokers also have Zephyr for aoe damage reduction which is huge for bosses like magmatusk - forge master etc as well as rescue to grab people out of trouble as well as time dilation - even sleepwalk has been op with mobs like the pelters in NL which helps hold out some of that nasty ST dps going out
Priest utility is actually insane given that they're the first priest. If there is another priest in the group, 2nd priest brings almost no value, which is crazy because 1st priest utility is almost 10/10 and the second one is like 4/10
tbh im kinda shocked about MW utility rating. I mean with ring, para, aoe stun, unlimited snare, incredible high mobility, heal / avoidance buff, 12 sec kick, mystic touch and great priority target dmg with touch of death monk has imo way higher utility than pala, even when they have battle rez because most tanks come with that anyways. Also fw is the most mana efficient healer by far, especially with the near tier set.
In my experience the utility is great, but the current dungeon and healing design hits us with a number of pain points on the healing side of things. Some dungeon and affix weeks feel great, others feel like hell.
Evoker needs a caveat that it's only good on fights where people can stay within your pitiful healing range (or in the case of pugs, where your DPS will actually stand so that you can heal the group with your breath). I'd definitely remove several points for Evoker as a pug healer in general, and then extra points if you're trying to play evoker in Uldaman or Neltharus.
Shouldn't really be a problem if you position well and use rescue to help yourself out by moving someone close to others. Asking people to be mindful and stay in front of you does miracles tbf.
Yeah positioning and range woes are why I dropped the spec after S1. It just wasn't worth fighting the class design, and god forbid you get a hunter in the group, they love standing out in Narnia.
are pallys and evokers that good? i kinda hate how they feel to play. i definitely did notice what you were saying about shamans, they just have a solid kit, but the only time you feel lacking is when theres massive group damage. to be fair i wasnt using cloudburst, like a nubbins, but even with cloudburst, it feels clunky to get a group back up. then again, if shamans could do even that well, then why play anything else? druids feel a little underrated on your list. i just got my druid into catch up gear yesterday. i thought id hate it, but its not bad. i only tried M2, which is like the community college of mythics, so maybe not the best reference, but it never felt as precarious in reckless groups as my shaman in similarly bad gear/low mythic (i was pretty surprised by that).
Great video. I play hpal, MW, and prevoker. However, I gotta say, i strongly disagree with MW burst healing score. I was very surprised to see, say, hpal burst healing higher than MW.
Holy priest is all good. My main alt atm and see no issue at +14-+16 range where generally people take bunch of damage due to lack of dodging avoidable damage. Sometimes its stressful to keep myself alive because being squishy as hell and wacky mobility but its ok anyways. To the damage , trinket Beacon of Beyond is a must to deal atleast ok damage for healer (20-25k at average for me overall) and at aoe situations spamming holy nova helps alot.
Holy Paladin can most easily cast its damaging abilities, because it needs to do so to generate Holy Power, but the actual damage of its abilities is really low. The average Holy Paladin is going to deal more damage than the average [other healer], but that's only because average players aren't pressing their DPS buttons at all. When other healers press their DPS buttons, pretty much all of them do more damage than Holy Paladin.
I also thing MW is a sleeper MDI healer.. as it is right now it does the most dmg and pretty much thats all that matters for MDI, all healers can handle a 21-22 with ease. The defining factor will be if MDI teams will need a BL from their healer.. If not then MW is the obvious choice
