As a lefty, I find the Para 3 the perfect folder. I love both my Maxamet and S45 VN. I'm now debating between the lightweight and the blackout Salt versions. I like the look of the blackout version better. But the yellow lightweight would be easier to find in a bag or if dropped in the water. My debate continues.
@@IllinoisDailyCarry I'm actually tossing around the idea of the new Sage 5 (regular or LW) in SPY27 for the same lock but slightly different form factor with similar blade length. Variety is the spice of life after all, haha.
Great question, but I don't have the experience to answer. Here is a thread on the Spyderco forums about it though: forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?t=84238
After owning 3 versions of the Manix 2, I picked up a Knifejoy Para 3 w/pink g10 and it quickly became my favorite Spyderco. Being a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, I grabbed one of these for the start of the season. It is amazing.
@ For me the para 3 just has a “cheap” feel about it compared to some other models. I do have a bunch, I like the g10 version. But knives like the Stretch 2 xl g10 Cruwear and Native Chief,Military 2,Police 4 lw’s have been my carry knives lately. But whatever works.🙂👍🏻
I like the FRN scales on the Salt variant. They lighten the knives and the yellow color is easy to see, especially if dropped.
@@johnruiz6743 agreed. Definitely feel like people are less "scared" of a yellow knife as if it's any less sharp.
Is the lynch clip on this the “spyderco standard wire clip replacement - blacksmith”? It’s a beautiful edition
@@natsukuga I was a bit hesitant when I ordered as there were images of it at the time. Well worth it.

@@IcemanSK either way, with crucible potentially disappearing definitely grab something magnacut.
I bought the RG custom scales and did a swap with the LW Magnacut blade and my G-10 S45vn blade.
Freaking Grail Para 3 😁 🔥
@@BDevi0us hahaha. I always wish I could make it to the factory second sale to make a grail knife like that.
Does the lightweight have liners? I hate knives with scales that can bend when you squeeze them (bugout)
@@adamccrawford skeletonized if I recall correctly.
Love my Para 3, never tried the Lightweight. Can't go wrong with Magnacut either, especially with Spyderco's great heat treats.
I highly recommend getting one. Especially depending on use case; it is nice to have something I'm a little less "worried" about so to speak.

Quite the colection of para 3's❤❤❤

how is this style lock when swimming getting sand in it ?

Such a cool knife! I hope they will still be available now that Crucible Industries is going bankrupt..
@@nh--2022 yea, I'm worried I need to scoop up all my favorite magnacut knives.
I grew up in a lemon yellow room with flowers.........🤗🤗
This would match perfectly.
Did you get a chance to test the hrc on it?
Apparently there's a special tool to test HRC that involves an anvil, a diamond cone, and a measuring dial. Unfortunately, I do not own one of those.
