Sure, lets do that...then we will give the government agencies ,and other terrorist agencies lile them , the ability to mess with time ....sounds safe to me.
Its not like those who are greedy and power hungry today wouldn't use that tech to make the common people more subservient.
Nothing stopping a trump or a Biden child from "creating bit coin" rather than the actual creator.
Its not lile horrible people wouldn't be tempted to mess with everything ot of greed and vengeance.
Then we will have time assassins..who will take out those who opposed the government and helped shape the limited freedoms we have today.
Fucking with time travel is not a smart idea.
Just because you can stick a nano nuclear core up your own ass don't mean you should...so it is with time travel.

Awesome to think the dream of time travel that so many of us have was actually made in to a real endeavor by this man. I hope he succeeds and time travel for people becomes possible. Even if not in his lifetime or ours I hope the knowledge he passes down is built upon by new dreamers that can develop it further. I think Ron Mallett is a noble man.

What most people don't understand about changing the past is that we wouldn't even know in the present that anything changed. If Kobe Bryant was saved from dying by a time traveler people in the current time-line would have never known he died in the first place. You would have to write yourself a note in the future to remember what you changed in the past, but I don't think it is possible to change the past.

The sad truth is that Ron is a brilliant man, but he just can't let go of the hate, and he does want revenge.
He can send subliminal messages into the future, but much of that has already caused torment and even death!
Just look around you. Look what is being done in the cities. Look at the corruption. It is quite obvious to me that he's not doing good things with his abilities. If he were, then the world would be a much better place right now! Don't get me wrong, any racist person deserves what he gets, but I am not racist. I care about people. Yet, look where that got me. I showed those kids that I do love them and want to help them. However, look what happened to me. I got stabbed in the back! Ron knows exactly what I'm talking about. He should! He is the one who set it up!

My deepest desire is to have the ability to go back in time. Some want to see historical events.. those things are wonderful but I desire seeing my loved ones when they were young. Weddings, graduations, holidays…my fear is that I would in some way alter their trajectory. It would be very hard to not say “ I’m your grandson”. It would take a lot of self control to just set back and watch their mistakes and not get over excited at their accomplishments. Your father helped create your brilliant mind. This is becoming more interesting now since experiments at CERN have found particles that are measured to move faster than light. Acc. to Einstein they should be going to the past but they can be detected on the other side AFTER they've been sent. So they're not moving to the past. The speed of light doesn't seem to be the universal speed limit. Perhaps this is just the character of spacetime to have a built-in mechanism that forbids going back in time even if something goes faster than light.

My parents died in a car accident when I was 21. I am now 50 and there is not a day that goes by that I don't miss them horribly. I believe I could go back and see them again however, arriving at my own past would mean arriving at my own past but moving forward in my past at a normal rate would cause a timeline divergence and I would not be able to change my timeline of origin. I would be able to affect the other timeline in various ways but that timeline would have nothing to do with my own BUT would be remarkably similar.

I know time travel is possible but therè are intrinsic properties that are hard to control. Its not like you can imagine and change without an incredible foundation and impecable system. Out of all the time i have contemplated this I did by accident travel for a short time into the future and back. The problem was i didnt change anything. Maybe the shock prevented me from trying. If i could do it once i know i could do it again even though this was 33 years ago. It requires everything happening exactly as it should that created that doorway to open.

Ive experienced time slowing down through motion. I went down on a motorcycle. I saw the gravel when my friend who was drving it but I guess he did not. He loss control and I fell off. Everything from there I saw the road slowly coming up towards me. I rolled and stood up on both feet with only a scratch on my hand. He hurt his back a little broke one of the brake handles. Meanwhile one of his club member blocked a Ford Continental from hitting us. Quite an experience to see time slowing down. It was silence too even though it was alot of traffic. When I stood up I realized what happend and begun to hear the noise of the traffic.

when you’re sleep deprived and stagnant, doing nothing, the perception of time feels slower and drags on
      .. also
Although humans can't hop into a time machine and go back in time, we do know that clocks on airplanes and satellites travel at a different speed than those on Earth. It makes me wonder if we can slow down our aging process in space or on another planet while the people of earth age more rapidly like in interstellar.
that immensely proves gravity does greatly affect time and for all we know equilibrium (the fluid in our Brains that give us sense of balance and gravity) is the key to unlocking our preferred perception as well since when we’re sleep deprived not only do our reaction times slow down but also individual neurons in our brain which affects our overall brain chemistry and distribution!🧪

When Dr Ronald Mallet talks about gravity slowing down time, Is that not what the gravity chamber does in Dragonball Z? Hmmm 🤔
Makes you also think about the Loki series when it talks about variants and the time line.

I understand Mallett's reasoning. I also understand that nothing can go beyond the speed barrier of light. However, the fact that a neutrino can apparently travel faster than light (without breaking the barrier on its way) but doesn't violate causality made me wonder if travelling back in time is simply physically (not mathematically) impossible, due to mechanisms in spacetime which are not yet understood.

  • @MegaAstrodude

    @buffpatto1987,
The way it works theoretically is that you can only travel back to the point in time when the machine was first turned on and not a second further. It's called a "closed timelike curve", which probably doesn't exist, but it's still a good experiment to conduct just to see what results are achieved.

A simple way to visualize " Gravity slows down time " is by common observation of a the duration of an event. The more focus we put into it, the more we realize its slow. That is why we get bored sometimes watching or waiting for an event to be done. Gravity is associated with FOCUS, CONSCIOUSNESS, INTENT or AWARENESS. So what's keeping us on the ground ? " The preconditioned mind that we can not fly, its impossible " to put it allegorically. lol

I immediately found the flaw in Stephen Hawkins' concept of time travel through logic and reasoning as did his team but you are talking only nominal variance in time. Even with a figantic star hitting super nova the light would only sle time in mete minutes not seconds compared to the strongest laser. I want to hear about traversing backwards and forward in decades or centuries.

@tet43 I can understand your initial questioning but I think in order to get a more personal profile of Dr. Mallett's life , the interviewer wants to probe deeper and get a better understanding of not only Mallett's life but his motivations. Mallett has already contended that it wouldnt be possible to get back in time to save his father - so then at that point it becomes important to understand what his motivations are for continuing his research other the advancement of science.

I am interested in time travel to for many reasons let me explain. When I was 12 years old and my mother died of asthma, if he succeeds in building a Time Machine maybe I could go back and save her from it. I love books like the magic treehouse and Harry Potter, the magic treehouse goes back in time for different periods in history, I also love the Christian radio drama adventures in odyssey, they also go back in time with the imagination station. There was an episode on adventures in odyssey where this kid name Jimmy Barkley went back in time to 1865 at fords theater where Abraham Lincoln was killed, jimmy Barkley try to save him but he could not. I hope someday he succeeds and we can change unpleasant moments in history, maybe we can even save the people who died in 9/11 like flight 93.

You can not go faster than light, but you can arrive before, using a shortcut. Space and time are warped by the masses as stars and planets so the time can be manipulated. You can build a wormhole like in the movie Stargate. It is theoretically possible to travel through time, in practice it is not yet possible because we are not yet able to produce enough energy. I suggest you read "How to Build a Time Machine" by Paul Davies, a popular science text simple and clear.

i really hope it works. i dont want to wait for someone to create a worm hole just to see some time traveling.
