Hi Mary Katherine you asked me about identifying stinging nettle. There are many good videos on UA-cam. One short one is on silvercore. Dr Eric Berg has a good video on nettles. Hope that helps. I wondered the same thing for years. I bought nettle seeds two years ago and started them in a pot. Last year I planted them and protected them and babied them. This year they seem to be growing. I hope I’m not sorry.

Thank you, Nancy! I'll go find those youtubes and watch. I have things growing in my yard (weeds) that I think are some type of nettle, but I know nothing about them. And they don't sting, haha. Thanks again!
