Hi there. Sorry for the late reply. I used scrap yarn for my 18 granny squares, so I'm not exactly sure, but I'd estimate around 6 balls of yarn total-3 for each color. I doubled the small yarn to make it thicker. Thanks for watching, and happy crocheting 😊🧶
Where I start a new row, I have lots of holes in the piece. Do you have any tips for making it smoother and have less holes in that area?

For this project, I used two granny squares: solid granny square and heart granny square then I joined the granny squares using invisible seam
