I would prefer a JBL only review and then maybe a comparison review. Plus this way you get a chance to put out another video. By the way another great video I usually don't bother with unboxing videos but yours had some good information to go with it.
That’s one of the best on the market. What I hate is the remote control bottons are invisible as soon as you dim the light of the room. The remote hidden fonctions I hate it too. Like hold the mute botton 3 seconds and press + volume to... hold the HDMI 3 seconds to perform calibration and so on and on. Other than that the sound is Amazing! The Dolly Atmos is just wow. For gaming it’s also amazing.
Thank you. Your review, especially of the surround speakers covers what no other channel covers. For example each surround speaker has a USB-C input for charging which is crucial if you don't want to Keep reconnecting your surround speakers to the main soundbar for charging all the time. This little bit of information is very very important. It goes to show you know your stuff and you know what to look out for that are of utmost importance
I have a genuine case of floor envy. I used to have beech laminate flooring in my last condo, and the pattern was a complete match to yours. I sold the place and have been looking to rip up the carpeting in my house and get the same flooring. I've checked a dozen flooring stores and most of the websites, and there's just NOTHING that's even close to this color and grain. Apparently, light blonde woods is no longer a thing. When I find it, I'll be back to Japandi/Scandinese decor nirvana.
Thanks for unboxing it helped me to rebox the product and return it. I got a defective one where even though the surrounds were disconnected I could not adjust the volume and kept getting the error "Not Supported"
Bought this last week and love it. I only pull out the surrounds for movies then re-attach for normal tv viewing. Connection has been great, no loss to sub or surrounds, yet. Atmos is only sometimes noticeable, but 5.1 surround is great for my living room. Only issue I had was surrounds not fully charging after one particular night, but after that its been fine. Dialogue has been clear except for one movie, 4k disc of Pitch Black.
Ive also had this soundbar for almost a month before returning it to bestbuy. I picked up an open box Samsung q90r soundbar. The sound clarity for the jbl is just not there unless you take the surrounds out and disable them because they drown out any dialogue. The dolby atmos is non existent and the surrounds never had the correct sound of movement. Also another huge reason I returned it was because eventually, the surrounds batteries will no longer hold a charge and instead of replacing the battery, they make you buy brand new ones, thats if they dont discontinue the model in a couple of years. The only thing I liked about it was the subwoofer.
Good video guide. My concern is the battery of the surround speakers, which cannot be replaced, like today's cell phone's battery, which are no longer able to get charged 4-5 years down the road.
Thanks for another great video, love the presentation and humor :) Also I'm really looking forward to the full review as I'm considering buying this one mainly for the ability to pull out the surrounds when watching movies. Perhaps for your main review, could you mention the Atmos quality/fidelity please? Is the Atmos jumbled or clear-ish. Cheers.

Then third is HDMI 2.1 (simply to future proof) ... plus I just bought the LG CX55 and want to get the most out of it. Not too many other sounds bars fit this bill (yet). I've only had problems with soft dialogue with one 4k Disc 'Fury'. Definitely play around with speaker placement to help out with those atmos effects, head height (while sitting) behind on either side of the couch seems to work best. As for that sub woofer behind the couch centered makes all the difference to that atmos bubble. Well, they play on more occasions than just Atmos sessions. When someone sees 9 as the first number they probably are not thinking it is the sum of ear and height level channels. 0 Stars got it today, 28 nov 20, after the connection eARC/ARC experimentation, time to sit and enjoy F1 Bahrain Grand Prix. Folks, I was not watching the race, I am in it! The Left Rear speaker conveys amazing surround, Atmos fires everywhere. Amazing for my first ever lifetime surround. Oh wait, the Rear Right kept blinking slowly white, meaning 'disconnected' from the bar. Never saw it connected. Found a few disconnect forums, nothing to suggest a worse situation than Samsung. I avoided the Samsung precisely due to such connection issues... But not, JBL 9.1 RR never connects. 1000$ with Extended BB warranty? no thank you...RR never connects = automatic 0 stars if I could...
When you going to post the JBL 9.1 review?
It’s coming (recorded) - a lot to say. Hopefully next few days. Life has not given me much time to work on it lately

😀 recording my review today. Unfortunately my life doesn’t leave much time for me to record stuff ... and I’m kind of slow anyway ... I want to spend several days with the bar.
@@neverenoughtech No pressure 😂
Take the time you need to give us a full objective opinion. Many viewers will probably buy or not buy, based on your experience. I know that I wiil.
Good job and cheers from Denmark.
I get this sense so I try my best. Appreciate the comment.
How is the testing going? I have an offer for an HW-Q90r and jbl 9.1 for the same price. No idea which to choose. Any recommendation would be very appreciated 😁
I thought to buy after this video. You have given a last minute twist. Now I have to wait for you second video 😩. Please try your level best to make it fast, so that I can purchase it based on your verdict.
What twist are you referring to? Maybe I can just answer your question.
NeverEnoughTech you said you would be saying more about it in the second part. I thought this video would cover up everything.
5.1.4 is really equivalent to 9.1 channels. sheesh. that .4 just pertains to the upward atmos enabled speakers.
Well, they play on more occasions than just Atmos sessions. When someone sees 9 as the first number they probably are not thinking it is the sum of ear and height level channels. JBL in the manual references the system as 5.1.4 and I explain how the 9 was derived. I have an animation that makes it very clear. Not sure if you are agreeing or arguing with me ...?
my jbl 9.1 comes today i have a jbl sb450 now i hope i cann add that subwoofer also 😂
I have this soundbar. I find the overall sound to be kind of muddy. It sounds like it’s pumping all the dialogue through every speaker except the center. The bass is good but I’m not crazy about the muffled dialogue.
This JBL 9.1 isnt that good. The only good thing about this is the subwoofer. I returned mine and got an open box Samsung q90r and its sound quality is 3 times better.
Noted. I will definitely make comparisons to the Q line
Lol i actually did the exact same thing. The jbl was way to quite when alot of stuff was going on. Gun shots were soft and dialogue was quite. I got the q90r in an open box as well for the same price as the JBL. If you can find an open box at BB snag one up now.
Not recommended Can't adjust center speaker for better clarity dialogue. Had to keep on adjusting volume for dialogue and action scene.
This is BT 4.2 now 5.2 🤔
Yeah probably meant that first one ... good catch
Não gostei porque não mostrou em funcionamento.
Thumnail color in video 😳😳
This comment proves it worked
The 2 rear speakers have 2 channels each front and upwards firing
Yup. I said the short end doesn’t have a speaker. X.x.4 kind of clarifies the rears have upwards
Well fucking hell so you did well done 👍🏻
B. JBL 9.1 VS 5.1
Haha just paid $1200 for mine at Best Buy smh completely worth it though
