It almost brings a tear to hear it and see him putting all he has into it and him so aged. Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller were the two that shaped the music of the WW2 era. I started playing Bb tenor saxophone in 1965 and shortly after that I watched the Benny Goodman story with Steve Allen.....I went out and bought a clarinet and have been practicing ever since but cannot match the talent and the performance of Benny Goodman...!

"Benny, Benny, not tha jazz!" I think his music instructor when Benny was a boy leaning away from classical music was wrong. Benny Goodman was still killing them at that age, beautiful!
I believe it was his classical training that made him the great clarinetist that he is/was. The great masters are the periodic chart of all truly beautiful music.
