Resident Evil: Code Veronica (1987) directed and produced by Sam Raimi. Sam Raimi steps back in director's chair but once again without George A. Romero due to him working on Monkey Shines and at first Raimi refused but with Romero's blessing and the remainder that he could do the next installment, Raimi returned. Filmed May 1987 - September 1987, Released in November 1987.
Raimi would be a great fit for directing an RE movie has he has both the horror and campiness in spades. Now I picture Chris fighting a zombified severed hand like Ash in Evil Dead 2 lol
Then Raimi shot Evil Dead 3 as the planned, without the interference of the studio or any restrictions, and one decade later, Romero shot the adaptation of the first entry of Resident Evil. I guess in some "multiverse" we got the aforementioned.
the moth has been one of the scariest enemies to me and i'm sad it's been shafted in modern day. i remember the movie "phantoms" with ben affleck in it, and if you have seen that movie with the giant moth scene....you know.
💯 agreed. I’m playing through all the original tank control games and CV needs a lot of work. It’s still a good game but there’s way too much backtracking. Cleaning that up plus over the shoulder controls would be 👌🏻
@@NickHazletonMusic Well backtracking is one of the most important elements in the classic Resident Evil games. It’s what gives Resident Evil that “metroidvania” title. To lessen backtracking is to make RE less RE. This franchise depends on backtracking to keep its identity intact as well as all the other things like inventory management, managing ammo count and being careful with it, limited resources, etc. The RE games stopped feeling like true RE games when they just became linear shooters and had you backtrack less if at all. Backtracking also helps bond the player to the environments and makes them more memorable not to mention making the music of each environment get imbedded in peoples minds even more. This is a well known idea of backtracking.
@@Mr.Honest247 I agree to a certain extent. I like backtracking but not too much. It just feels a little too pointlessly longer than it should. I think RE one remake does it much better

@@marcoderiv5158 Ya but only directed by good director like James Cameron or Zememckis Resident adaptions failed so far sadly because directors failed to stick to source material of games

Holy fuck! I never thought Bruce Campbell would look like a complete badass as Albert Wesker, but then again he was Ash Williams. Hail to the King, baby!
What I think, when some big shot enters the mind of wanting to make a movie or a series of RE. You come to watch these videos to realize as a reminder of the kind of art style and atmosphere it should have. They have the means to do it, but they always make mistakes… You need to get a convinced idea of what you want to do, otherwise it's just wasted time. because that's the most important thing. You did more as a fan To give a real and precise idea of what Resident evil is.
First they need to get a script they like and think it's good, which is difficult because writing-wise Resident Evil was always weak, especially its characters which have very little development, so the executives would probably ask for some depth and nuance to the story, that means changes, making Jill, Chris, everyone else feel like actual people that can carry a film, no wonder they wrote a character like Alice for the original 2002 film.
@@Gabagu I can see your side of it. But if Cameron can give depth to characters in titanic why can't it be done with something that has even more to go on. I think picking the right director for the movie has a lot to do with it. What do you think?
@@BDW0000 It sure can happen, but that's the biggest difficulty in my opinion, with something like The Last of Us things are much easier because the source material is very rich narrative-wise, very much a character-driven game, with Resident Evil they would have to really adapt the storyline, make it compelling for people that don't follow the games, i think the guy that did Welcome to Raccoon City did a little of that by showing Chris and Claire interacting together and talking about their past, in the games they don't really feel like siblings because you barely see them together, but the film lost itself by going for a bigger story where the tone felt more inclined to action than suspense, so yeah they need the right director, not just a fan but a director that sees the problems in these games as much as the strengths they have, cause there's a lot in the games that would have to be improved in an adaptation.

This was actually beautiful. Steve is so handsome! I recognized all of the players right away, and you even differentiated between pre-modified G virus Alexia and G-Virus Alexia and Pre-modified Albert Wesker and insane G-virus Wesker.
