    Six months pregnant hiking 10 miles if more each day, photographing & recording … you arc amazing. But what I enjoy the most in today’s flog was at the end when you finally walk into the restaurant and see your husband and you say with love & gratitude “ you my hero”, well today’s flog is also about a Love Story , the cast your husband , you and a baby in the oven … a family. ❤😊 thank you for sharing.

    If you're watching this thinking I might do the West Highland Way one day just do it! I would make a case for it being the best all rounder multi-day hike in the world. It's relatively accessible, you can camp or stay in B&Bs, you can eat amazing Scottish pub food rather than army rations 🤢 it's not too hard or too easy and the scenery is second to none.

      “Mudflats and Fishcamps” by Erin McKittrick describes an 800-mile summer, all human powered, “at the pace of a 4-year-old” which is 7-8 miles a day while mom carried the 2-year old and dad carried everything else.

    When you said "It can't be worse than yesterday" all those who knew grimaced collectively! 😬🫣 The stretch after Invernsnaid is the hardest section of the WHW!
    Imagine doing that leg and arriving at Inverarnan campsite only to find it under 2 feet of water! That's what happened in 2020 when I did it.
    The community rallied round and The Drovers Inn let people camp in their garden. Good wee pub btw! 😊

    You don't need me to tell you that this baby is going to change your life forever. There's no going back to the you you were before. It was difficult for me to deal with that reality at times, but I've never regretted becoming a mother. Wishing you all the best.

      So true. People say you can raise the kid to love the outdoors. Incorrect. I took mine camping and hiking until around age 8-10 when he absolutely refused to participate anymore. It quietly broke my heart. Then you have to wait about 2 decades to get your chance again. I'm in PT trying to get there. My young adult child still avoids going outside.

    • @phillipp1399

      Absolutely positively everything changes. As it should. It ain’t always easy (maybe often isn’t?) but who wants to be exactly who they were last year, 5 years, however many years ago? You’ll never be a “not parent” again and that is certainly a big deal. Regrettable only if you somehow believe you can stand in the way of time passing, and somehow many seem to believe they can. Dive in, head first.

    • @laurabryannan
      @laurabryannan Місяць тому +5

      @@dawnhughes9942 Yep. I had dreams of doing all sort of things with my little, but he turned out to be a special needs child who wasn't interested in any of it. You have to love the child you have, not the child you thought you wanted.

Thank you for taking the time that it took to do all that filming, even though you weren't able to cover the miles you needed to in a timely fashion. Glad Rodney got your vittles and everything worked out well. I wouldn't have wanted to leave you on your own either, if I was him. Don't make a habit of that, please.

    Retired ER nurse here. Thank you for your video. Its deja vu for us having been to Scotland and the Lake District of England in May. We did not go to Loch Lomond but the Isle of Skye, Fort William and the Lake District are just like this. Post card pictures everywhere you look. Even with overcast skies. And waterfalls everywhere you go. If you get a clear day, go nuts taking videos and pictures. Stay safe and be careful.

    Even at 22 and pregnant with my first child, when in mint condition so to speak, it wasn't a walk in the park during the second half of the pregnancy to do more strenuous things. I've always felt fine at that stage and full of energy, but there is someone else taking a lot out of you and you're feeling it, especially if it's about endurance. And balance... I felt like I was about to tip over every time I was going over a stone wall. It's a good decision to send an ambassador along to secure food if you can't make it on time. Missing a meal is not an option!
