I feel the same way Kevin! I have the Big Boy 44 mag and the 22 Lr. My next will be a 45/70 and then a Henry revolver. When it’s time to check out my kids will get 10 good guns and 4 fantastic Henry’s! Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment buddy! It helps a lot and I really appreciate it!👍
I own a Big Boy Steel and a Big Boy Classic both in 44mag. I think tube load (and unload) is a great advantage- in fact when considering a Marlin; them not having a tube load definitely goes into the negative column. I also own a JM Marlin 444 and having to rack out the bullets at the end of the hunting day just seems like unneeded wear on the mechanism. Enjoying the channel.
Great points! I love being able to unload from the tube too! That aspect is much safer too! Plus you don’t have to tear your fingers up loading it on a cold morning because it almost impossible to load a side gate with gloves on. Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment! I really appreciate it!👍
You want good quality and American made ... sometimes you have to pay a little extra. And what a lot of gun buyers aren't aware of is that Henry actively supports our gun rights and they give to great causes. I don't mind paying more for a gun produced by a great company. Yes … you can get some “junk” for half the price somewhere, but it won't be a Henry.
That’s pretty much how I feel in a nutshell! Well summed up! I love my old Marlins, but they just don’t match that old school, Daniel Boone vibe of a Henry! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! It helps a lot and I really appreciate it!
Thanks for watching! I kind of geeked out when I heard about the revolvers! Being a more recent Henry guy, the sky is spinning with options! Thanks a lot for watching and leaving comments! It helps a lot and I really appreciate it!👍
I’m jazzed about the new Henry Revolver! That thing looks sweet! As soon As I broke down and bought my Henry Big Boy they intro the same gun with a side gate ! That’s disappointing, but I still love my rifle! Thanks for your comment buddy!
The style on those Henry revolvers makes them look a lot like 1980s Charter Arms revolvers. I'm more than a little concerned about the brass lite grip frames. That material scratches pretty easy. Hope the do an all blue steel version and they keep the QC up.
I think Henry will keep expanding their lines. I like the old Colt Peacemaker kind of vibe the pistols give off. But that’s just my opinion. Everyone doesn’t have to agree. Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment buddy! I really appreciate it!
Bought a 357 side loader big boy recently. In 30 rounds it jammed twice, the huge octagon barrel got extremely hot and the mag tube shot out the front. Hope these were just break in pains.
I’ve heard of that happening with the mag tube. Mine did that. In my case I think it was operator error😂. That would be strange that the barrel would get that hot to possibly be the cause of jamming. My buddy has a round barrel .357 and there are some loads his doesn’t do super well with. I think it was horrible with Winchester white box. But once he had a couple hundred rounds through it, it will eat anything you push through it. Be careful that your not short stroking the lever when cycling. I did that several times when I got mine because I wasn’t used to such a short action with the .44 Mag. I was used to throwing 30-30 and 35 in my lever guns. After I got used to it, everything has been great after customer service finished up repairs. If you keep having issues don’t hesitate to contact customer service! They are phenomenal!
It would be nice to have the side gate but I think I’m just gonna stick to the classic 44 mag I have. I love the gun anyway. I believe when I get ready to add another one, I’m gonna go for the Allweather 45, 70 . Thanks a lot for watching and commenting Kevin! I really appreciate it buddy!
@@Hunting4Hookers that's what I decided to do too. It's not my go to for self-defense so it doesn't really matter how fast I can load it, it's more of a "fun gun" that I've always wanted and it's a companion piece to my SSA 45 long Colt revolver
@@kevinboothe9991 I like the 45 LC TOO! Never owned one, but I’ve had the opportunity to shoot one on a couple of occasions. I have a buddy who has the judge in rifle version that shoots 410 and 45 LC. I’ve been trying to trade him out of it.😂 Thanks for the comment Kevin! I can always depend on you guys and I appreciate it!👍
Sorry late getting back buddy! I’m happy with my big boy classic. If the side gate have been available when I bought it I would’ve bought the side gate but I’m good. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment buddy! I appreciate that!
I've never had any problems with my older .44 Magnum in brass (with no side gate). Many folks (probably hundreds of thousands) are just fine with their Henrys. Only problem I have with it is that Henry didn't put sling swivels on it so you can shoulder it. Have to hand carry it.
Thanks a lot for your comment buddy! Did you see my video on “Awesome Upgrade for Henry Rifles”? This leather setup allows you to have a storage compartment, extra ammo storage and a sling without drilling any holes in your rifle! It’s great! Thanks for watching and commenting! I really appreciate it!👍
That would be utterly amazing ! To have my big boy 44 mag lever gun and a matching revolver would be awesome! Then I might get into reloading! I’m already considering it!
I heard they are also going to be releasing the revolver in all the Big Boy calibers! 44Mag/ 44 special , and 45LC! Some of the folks commenting say they don’t like the revolvers, and they look like cheap H&R revolvers. I don’t see it! They make me think of the old west era and the guns that helped make America great!🇺🇸 Thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment! I really do appreciate it buddy!
Those Uberti revolvers are sweet! My best friend has a Uberti 44 mag black powder revolver. Fun to shoot! Thanks for watching and commenting buddy! I appreciate it!
@@Hunting4Hookers Funny you should mention Remington blackpowder revolver. I own a Remington shopkeepers. 31 caliber, 5 shot, 3" barreled steel frame revolver, Remington 6 shot, 6 5/8" Belt model in .36 caliber, a Remington in 5" barreled, 6 shot with checkered grips and case hardened frame plus full fluted cylinder by Pietta in .44 caliber. A 8" barreled Remington .44, steel frame, Army model and a Uberti made Remington style revolving rifle in .44 caliber with a Howell Old West conversion cylinder to fire .45LC and .45 Schofield from it. So, I'm kinda partial to Remington I guess. The 1875 is the 7 1/2" model. All the rest are blackpowder models.
@@harrisonlewis6853 That’s cool! I love the black powder cartridge stuff! The only thing I really own black powder is a couple of modern muzzle loaders. They don’t even shoot real black powder. I would love to learn more about it! Thanks for leaving a comment buddy! I appreciate it!👍
I have found a few without the gate, but I haven’t seen any in gun stores yet. They’re still pretty new. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment buddy! I appreciate it!
I’m putting everything else on the back burner as far as firearms are concerned! I want to see one of the revolvers and get my hands on it! Thanks Carl!
I bought a Henry lever action 6 years ago. Super good looking gun right out of the box. Not a blemish on it anywhere. I bet these new revolvers will sell good. I've been a fan of Henry firearms ever since I bought one!
That’s pretty much become my exact plan too! I want a 45/70 all weather big time! The more I think about it I may wait for the 44 revolver too. Both purchases too close together will kill my mad money account! Thanks for watching. Leave a comment buddy!
That is some awesome news about Henry! I know they are a great company, I have the Henry 22 lever action, all blued. The 357/38 revolver is awesome. The disappointing news to me is Ruger coming out with the Marlin 336, and the price they are going to put on that. I know back in the days, when Marlin was Marlin, anyone could afford a Marlin 336. But with Ruger putting that price up there like that, they are taking the average hunter out of the picture. I think I will hold onto my old Marlin 336 30-30 and my old Marlin 336 35 caliber, and not worry about trying to get a new 30-30. Great video Mike! Thanks for sharing all the information. Juddie - J & J TOA
Thanks Juddie! Tried some new software in that video. It was a little better, but still got some learning to do. I felt like Ruger was going to run prices through the roof on the Marlins. They do it to everything. The only affordable and good quality firearm they make is the Ruger American rifle. It’s a good one and the common folks can still afford it. Thanks for your comment buddy!
Let's face it, the later Marlin rifles were trash. To stay on the lower end of the market, Marlin took all kinds of shortcuts in materials, specs and quality control, and their late stage production firearms reflected that. All you have to do is go back to 1937, when you could have gotten your hands on a new Model 36 Marlin for about $32 (catalog price). In 1947, you'd have paid more than twice that, or $72. Since 1947, average inflation per annum has averaged 3.9%, for a total inflation of 1,250%. $72 in 1947 dollars would be worth almost $1000 in today's money. I think what you are seeing with Ruger's pricing of their Marlin rifle line is the fact that returning to original or better quality in 2023 is going to require that the lost value of 1947 dollars has to be recovered in order to recoup the cost of production, with some profit.
The US economy is in shambles, the US dollar has lost half its value and is set to go full third world country in the next decade. Everything should be cheaper, but the US government is amazingly evil
@@boydgrandy5769 Respectable, interesting point of view. I was thinking, just in my head... look what even the cheap Marlins are selling for these days. I recently sold a good friend my 336CS. I gave him 9 boxes of ammo and the gun for $750, because he's a close friend, and I only paid $260 for it 20 years ago. Apples to apples condition comparison on gunbroker put the rifle at about $900 without the ammo, which is no longer cheap either! I wondered if Ruger is placing their bets on a long game, where the price of a new Ruger/Marlin becomes less than what you can get an original for. It might not be that long of a wait and it would also save them from an immediate demand rush, allowing them to release the line, but perfect any bugs before demand catches up with production, at which time they can then focus/meet any increase needed in production. I don't know, but that's where my head went with it.
@@kennethgoin628 That’s a pretty good take on the subject and you might be dead on with that thinking. My big problem with Ruger is that they took an American rifle that gained popularity as an affordable rifle of great quality that a man could buy at almost any income level to teach his kids or grandkids to shoot and hunt with and turned it into an upper premium priced firearm that is priced out of reach for many people! I thought Henry was overpriced to a point. But when I heard what the Ruger made 336 was going to sell at, I decided to go with Henry and love it! I’m sure the Ruger is a great quality firearm as all there guns are, but they have made Henry the more affordable option and I think Henry will reap the benefits. Thanks for watching and commenting buddy! I really appreciate it!👍
I thought about going after a new side gate 44 magnum. But I think I’m going to go after 4570 next. Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment, I really appreciate it!
I used to have a Henry.22 caliber rifle and I loved it . I had to sell it awhile back because I needed the money and I am goig to get me another one . I would also like to get a 30-30 Henry but that is going t take sometime to get.
I just recently got my Henri 22 and love it! I actually won it in a raffle. It’s a youth model, and very short, which I really love about it it’s accurate and everyone in the family lives shoot it. I try not to stay loyal to any brand in any industry. That being said, Ive been impressed by Ruger for a while now. Enough that, I'm going to order a 45-70 1895 this summer. Nothing against Henry. In fact, the Big Boy X is likely in my future too, but Ruger to me is like that awesome blue collar company that, though less glamorous, gives the "upper end" companies night sweats 😊 They build tanks. Beautiful tanks, obscenely reliable tanks!
I completely agree with everything you said except the blue collar part. Ruger is getting further and further away from the blue collar aspects of the industry. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! I love hearing everyone’s opinion!
I was entertaining the side gate in 44 brass. I think instead the next rifle will be the all weather 45/70. At some point I want the revolver with gunslinger grips. Thanks a lot for watching and leaving a comment! I really appreciate it buddy 👍
That's what I want to get the 38/357 riffle so my hand gun fits the same ammo. I don't like buying different ammo for different fire arm's if I can keep all the ammo the same I'll stick to that. My bro was telling me I should get a 30-30. It is a good round for hunting but if I can get away with a 357 round I'll do that.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say. To me they look like H&R and Charter Arms had a child and put some bling on it in an attempt to make it pretty, but failed 😂.

Longtime lever action guy. I had a Winchester 30-30 but could not shoot it. I think it must have been a youth model because I could not hold it up and sight down the barrel. Traded it in for a Marlin 336 in .444. This was in the late 70s. It has worked flawlessly all these years. Love the looks of the new Henry's. Especially the revolvers. Going to have to check them out.
I’m a big Marlin fan too! I love my 2 Marlin 3030s! But I’m nuts about the Henry rifles! I looked at them for years, and once Ruger released the new Marlins at such an expensive price point I bought one. Once you put it in your hands and start shooting it’s easy to see why so many people love them! Thanks a lot for watching, and leaving a comment! I really appreciate it!
Yes bummer man! My favorite gun is my lever action Winchester 30/30. Would not trade it for the world. Load that thing and shoot all day. (Like 15 rounds)

Remington had to retool every part for Marlins . . . converting from the Old Way to CNC; the JM stuff worn out . . . I bought one of the last 1894's made in North Haven, CT, and I pretty much had to finish the internals by hand. Rough stuff. Remington got slammed for the first wave of Marlins from old remainders to their new CNC Marlins, but worked it out over time. CZ had the same task taking over Dan Wesson. Ruger pretty much got the perfected product handed to them, but had to pay the price . . . which now we pay.

@@Hunting4Hookers Well, I'd like S&W too but they tend to be priced higher than these heh. I figure if these Rossi guns have an MSRP in the $900 range street prices will be in the $750-800 range. The demise of Ruger was when his younger son became convinced to take them public. The first CEO was a former US Navy submarine skipper who knew how the steer the ship. When he left, which we know little about, Ruger became a different company, and from the little I know about the structure of the board of directors - the major stockholders - there have even been questions about some of them wanting to cave to demo-commie ideologies. Of course, COVID changed everything, and now they have more $ than brains. Ruger used to be known for rugged reliability and not so much for precision. The current company wants you to believe that their products are equal to those that are undoubtedly superior. Ruger revolvers are great in terms of what they've always been, but equal to a S&W counterpart? QC isn't what it used to be, either. And then they actually had a pistol with the SR series that is most likely better than what replaced them. And Ruger can't make an "American" in 10mm? Even the Croations building one for Springfield Armory while not hyping how the 9mm and .45 ACP versions acn fire +P full time? Ruger INC, seems more akin to an ideology like Taurus than they do William B. Ruger's ideology. And it's unfortunate that the son who was to lead Ruger after William B. was lost to cancer far to soon. In other words, Ruger is no longer the Ruger some of us grew up with. The Marlin 336 "no frills" version was once under $200 at your local Wally, but now $1300??? Meanwhile, S&W is headed in the right direction, they've proven that very recently with their 9mm PCC that will do anything the Ruger PC will do with less weight and a substantially lower price tag. Really sad to see the corporate greed that gas infected Ruger!
I agree! Ruger has done so well with the Ruger American rifle‘s at a fair price. It’s tough to see the blue the prices on the new marlin. Hey, thanks for watching the video buddy! I really appreciate it!

American made wonderful rifles and products. Side gate is not important and side gates are overrated. The revolvers are exciting and as soon as the demand wains I will have both of them. Great durable sights that have front height adjustments for loads. Loading a 158 grain WFN should be outstanding in these American made revolver. Made in America or not made at all…….💪🇺🇸

I actually thought the same thing. Being more of a traditional vibe I would have thought a single 6 would have been their intention. But then again there would have been people who disagreed with us an would have preferred a double. I guess we can get the best of both worlds. Thanks for watching and your comment! I really appreciate it!👍
@@Hunting4Hookers You can always single a double, but you can never double a single. Sitting in a boardroom, where cost and cost effectiveness are factors, is it really that surprising they went with the option? If this does well and there's a dull roar about wanting a single action series, then maybe they'll expand the lineup. Sidenote: Henry as a company has really blossomed in the last couple of decades. They need to be careful not to grow too fast. Many companies with promising futures and great products have imploded because of this. I think they're testing the waters wisely here.
I’ve kind of been thinking about that myself. The henry rifles are already hard to come by. Henry is about to open a third production facility, maybe the wheel guns or what its for. Thanks for your comment and watching the video! I really appreciate it buddy!

I like the old school western gun vibe. I’ll bet ya H&R never built a revolver to this quality level . But then again everyone has a right to their own opinion. That’s what makes the conversation in the comments so fun! Thanks for watching and for your comment buddy!👍
I have no idea if you own a Henry priced more than a few hundred dollars or not, but if you don't, it's hard to understand the full quality of their products until you get them out on the shooting range and break them in a bit. They have a way of seeming like any other quality rifle, until you go back to that "other quality rifle." I expect the pistols to work the same way. Little story/analogy: I'm not a rich man, so I have to get creative to get some of the things I want. Back around 1998-2000, I got into freshwater fishing... BIG TIME! I wanted to learn and know everything. Well, the first time I stepped into a real sporting goods retailer, I about fell over wondering who in their right mind would ever pay $100 for a fishing rod, let alone $300+ for a fishing rod. I didn't know what I didn't know. I went fishing with a buddy and he was all stoked about this new fishing rod he'd gotten for Christmas from his in-laws that cost around $300! As the day went on and conversation carried, I was offered its use for a while, so I would better understand how amazing it was. Well, that was my first mistake. The light feel, the sensitivity, the way it loaded when a fish bit, it was clearly superior to my $40 Mitchell Spidershaft, but $250 better? I had to know So, eBay was new and stores would clear things out at 60-80% off. I bought it up, resold it on eBay, and bought a selection of $100, $160, $230, and $325 rods. I spent over 100 days on the water testing. What I found was that I reached for that $325 rod first, and last, because once I knew and understood the difference in the experience, I didn't want to be without it. I sold off everything cheaper and now own a small collection of very expensive rods. I have tried, and so has my father, but there really is no going back or a true "good enough" once the knowledge is learned. Point? I can plink with a Savage, or Ruger, or Marlin (and on and on), and I can still have a great time. But when it comes time to be serious about the experience I want to have, whether in the woods or at the range, I like reaching for the Tikka, or Weatherby, or... yes, a Henry. In the world of lever action rifles, they have continued to perfect the craft vs ride the laurels of a brand, like Winchester has. Henrys are, in my self-experienced, self-assessed opinion, a step above their competition in both craftsmanship and performance. I don't know if I'll be in a hurry to score one of their new pistols. I really don't have a need or scratching desire for the calibers they're offering. But in their rifles, I can't say enough good about the Golden Boy/Big Boy series. If there's anything, I do wish they'd offer a recoil pad... it's just nicer, but I do appreciate the smoothness of their action and the impressive accuracy I can count on, gun after gun after gun. Notice, there's a lot of people out there saying this and that is just as good as a Henry. Yeah, people say that about my fishing poles too, but they don't know, and can't know, until they dive into that experience. When you're the product everyone is comparing themselves too, understand, that's the measure they're trying to live up to. They may, but rarely ever do.
@@kennethgoin628 I don't own any Henry's. That said I have sold them for over 25 years. I have spent time with the Henry company and fired lots of rounds through their firearms. So yes I know a lot about their firearms. I also have $300 fishing poles and $300 reels to go together. I have custom built rifles, pistols and revolvers. The revolvers only cost a few dollars more than the Henry revolvers.
The only Henry I ever owned (22lr) lever action would sometimes not eject the shell out of the barrel and was completely unsafe. I got rid of it as soon as I could and I won't ever buy another.
The majority of the time , if a casing sticks in the barrel it’s the ammo and not the gun. It happens a lot with inexpensive ammo. They aren’t loaded with the exact same powder charged or the brass is thinner on one bullet compared to the other. Then when you shoot, the brass swells oversize and sticks. The other reason is the gun needs to be cleaned. Not to argue against someone else’s opinion but I can’t really grasp the scenario that an empty casing not ejecting is dangerous. Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion. I appreciate it.
I just paid $750 plus tax, for a bolt action 22LR rifle that is made in Utah. It uses 10 22 mags, so I loaded ten in one of those mags, and test fired my brand new high buck 22. The first round failed to eject. The second round failed to extract so I removed the mag, and then reclosed the bolt. This time the round extracted, but failed to eject. The next eight out of ten all failed to eject, so I sent the rifle back to the factory. They returned the rifle, along with a free T-shirt and a thank you card for buying their product. Bad stuff gets through every factory. That's a fact. But when you return a rifle, as I have several times, you always get that firearm back in FINE working order. At least, that has been my experience, with several manufacuters. None of them being in the top ten names that you would think of when you think of crappy guns that have to be returned for repair when brand new.
@@jaycoy107 That’s an excellent illustration Jay! That’s like my experience with Henry. Not owning a Henry I looked at them as one would look at a fine wine or an expensive car. “They should be flawless”, right? I should know better because anything made by humans in a production atmosphere is susceptible to flaws. I’ve spent my life in the world of precision machining manufacturing and when you have to balance quality with production there will be flaws. Now I own 2 Henry rifles and couldn’t be happier, even though it didn’t start that way. I really appreciate you watching and leaving a comment! It helps a lot and I appreciate it buddy!
Hey thanks for your comment so much! I absolutely love hearing different opinions! I’m gonna add another Henry! The next one will be an all weather 45-70. Thanks a lot , I really appreciate you watching and commenting!👍
I really have no clue on that answer. But I’ll bet it’s lower than they do in the US. At least in Brazil . Italy is likely closer being that it’s basically a socialist European nation. Now I have to ask what the question was about. Thanks for watching and commenting! I really appreciate it!
I am just seeing this video. I need the name and/ or number for your dealer. Cause i would like to have the 357 henry revovler. Also, since you were talking about having two 44 mags. I have two henry 3030s. One in color case and one in brass. I kinds am thinking about selling the brass one. Not really sure at this moment.
A couple of Henry’s to pass down will be an awesome heirloom! That revolver is gonna be something else! I wanna try to see if they offer it in 44 before I buy one. But if it doesn’t happen pretty soon I’ll be just fine with the 357! It will still be a good addition to my 44 Big boy rifle! Hey! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! It really helps! And needless to say that it’s real nice to see some lady folks chiming in! I appreciate it!👍
Kind of what I’m thinking. I still love my big boy! I plan on dying with that rifle and hopefully putting a good bit of venison in the freezer with it before my kids get it. Thank you for your comment! I really appreciate it!👍
Only if the Big Boy line is discontinued. Right now, it's a crossover, and Henry is probably going to watch the numbers and make a decision on keeping them both, or cancelling the weaker selling lineup. Personally, I prefer the Side Gate. Tubular mags are cool, but I really don't like the loading process from that end, and I grew up on a tubular Remington 582 22 S/L/LR, and own multiple Henry rimfires. But rimfires are rimfires. A whole different animal. Centerfires... I don't know. If manufacturers are worried about recoil causing accidental firing inside the magazine, dropping a round 80% of the distance feels equally concerning. Sure, lay it down some and reduce the impact pressure against the first round loaded, I get it, but to what inconvenience do I want to settle for? Since the pricing is comparable, I vote Side Gate.
@@kennethgoin628 I never load any tube load guns that way. I usually hold them at about 45 degrees and let them slide down. Even the 22s, and especially the 44 mag. Thanks buddy!
I don’t only 357 yet. But I know 44 magnum ammo is insane! I buy pretty much all my ammo like that on midway, USA, and if academy has something like 50 round boxes of Winchester white box Thanks for your comment and watching the video buddy! It really helps a lot. I appreciate it!

That would be cool! Who knows maybe they will expand their chambering in the future Thanks for watching and leaving a comment buddy, I really appreciate it!
Doesn't help for you to press you do not need more than 10 rounds... coming from someone in a state with Magazine limits (10 round for everything). There is no distinction hunting/protection or shouldn't be, so don't continue to provide ammunition (no pun intended) for 10 round limits.
When I saw these two guys on you tube top off the magazine tube with the hammer back and one in the chamber, I cringed ! If someone has an AR or something with 30 rounds they still need to handle it safely and responsibly. But in the case of a firearm like a Henry, there’s no need to risk your life or the life of others to add one more round to a firearm that is already in battery! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment, it helps a lot! I appreciate you buddy!👍
The .22lr pump ones was great little rifles, like really good and accurate, unfortunately where I live, it considered naughty no-no now, I used hunt rabbits and hares with one as a kid, so I bet the revolver one be good

Like most new products to hit the market, I suspect the Henry revolvers ‘may’ experience some mechanical growing pains and may need to flap their proverbial wings a bit to get off the ground. Yet by the same token, these are going to sell and availability may be scarce. I’ve always received excellent service from Henry (I own two of their rifles) and I wish them well in their new endeavor in the competitive revolver market place. First impressions will count and quality control should always be the focus with any new product line. If the quality is there the rewards will follow. There are a number of well established legacy brands out there that would do well to follow that guideline as well. Sadly, it seems to have fallen to the wayside lately.
I absolutely couldn’t agree more! I think they will knock it out of the park, but with unrivaled customer service I believe it will work out! Thanks for watching , and thanks for your comment! I really appreciate it!👍
I appreciate that Henry is made here but a couple years ago my son bought a all-weather 44mag and I gotta say if your going to put made in America on it at least make it look like it. The trigger and hammer still had MIM marks wood doesn't fit the metal all that great. Nothing that doesn't make the rifle function well just things I think should have been better.
That’s wild. It must be one raffle that got past QC. Usually the fit and finish are impeccable on the Henry The 2 H rifles I have or as close to flawless as anything I’ve ever seen. Thanks for leaving a comment buddy and watching the video. I really appreciate it!
The 686 is very hard to beat. I own the model 28 and model 19 as well, and would still have the 686 if I had to pick one. The Ruger is cast junk by comparison....
I’ve been hearing quite a bit from Ruger folks talking about S&W and vice versa. I guess it all boils down to experience, opinion and preference. Thanks a lot for watching and leaving a comment buddy!
@blueduck9409 I couldn't agree with you more. I was thinking the same thing. USA companies always over price their firearms. I can't justify paying $900+ for this firearm. Ruger,Smith,Colt, etc. All over priced to me. I would rather purchase an imported company like Rossi. They make good reliable revolvers!
Rossi does make a fantastic quality firearm! I guess it’s what tickles someone’s fancy and they are willing to spend. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! It helps a lot and I appreciate it!

I’m not sure about the Henry’s revolvers. Because they look like 50-60’s Harrington and Richardsons cheaper guns. With the undercut barrel for the ejection rod. Etc.

Hey, thanks for watching and leave a comment buddy it helps a lot. I really appreciate it! Sadly, I don’t know how close you have followed the farmers market lately, but the Henry revolver is actually at the low end of the quality revolver market. There are cheaper pistols out there if you want to go with a Taurus or other foreign brand. And that’s fine if that’s what you want. But to get high-quality, American made firearms in our economy, the Henry’s are actually at the low end of the price range now From the lever guns, single shots, and revolvers all the American companies are more expensive than Henry. Thanks again for watching and leaving a comment my friend
Yes it would! We should flood Henry with demands for .357 and . 44 mag pumps! Believe I would be even more giddy for that than the revolver!! Thanks for watching and commenting buddy! I really appreciate it!👍
I’m not going to be running out and buying anything myself on a whim. I’m into trading , bartering and saving. Might take a year between purchases but I’ll eventually get there! Thanks for your comment buddy!
I was hoping they would make them available in California but alas they are not. Guess can save up for that .44 Anaconda and hope it doesn't fall off the roster.
How does the roster deal work? I’ve heard that multiple companies are not even going to follow the legalities and paper trails to sell in several liberally run states .
@@Hunting4Hookers I'm not completely sure. It is kind of like extortion. They have to pay the state some kind of safety drop test. Then there are restrictions on features and types of weapons. Then there is also a microstamp requirement for handguns along with a popup safety indicator requirement. The microstamp technology doesn't even exist and is one of the reasons we haven't had a new modern handgun added to the roster in over a decade. I think there is an exception for revolvers tho. Anyways, ton of unconstitutional stuff and all of it is currently in the courts being fought. However, even if CA loses the legislators just have an emergency session and pass a new unconstitutional bill with their supermajority as there is nothing to stop them. Takes about a decade to run through all the courts and appeals to reach the Supreme Court and that is even if they pick it up.

I don't believe this is what customers want from Henry. You have several manufactures that have decades of experience and reputation for wheeled guns. I think Henry needs to continue to modernize their lever actions. The Henry Big Boy X is a good start, but lever action owners have spaceboy'd their rifles with 3rd party parts such as Ranger Point Precision. Why not take the Big Boy X concept further and in-house? That's what I'd love to see Henry do.
I have a feeling we will see more of that! They are already talking threaded barrel options and such. But I think their bread and butter is the old west style lever gun and that will remain their main focus as they branch into other things. Thanks a lot for your input. I really appreciate it.
My biggest complaint with Henry is, all thier junk is horribly over priced. Its sheer greed. I can buy more reliable, better made rifles from Italy or Brazil for about 1/3 of the money Henry wants for one rifle. This kind of greed will keep me from ever buying anything Henry makes.
I can respect your opinion! But Henry is the best priced high quality lever gun maker in America , and completely American made. When I finally leave this world , my kids and grandkids will have guns that are worth far more than I paid for them. But Rossi also makes an awesome lever gun in the $600 range! I wouldn’t mind owning one myself! Thanks for your comment buddy! Just because we don’t agree on the subject isn’t a big deal! I’m happy you watched the video!
I understand. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just happen to live the high quality American made Henry’s. It’s whatever fits needs and makes you happy. Thanks for your comment buddy! I really appreciate it!
I can appreciate your opinion. Beauty is in our beholder I think the Henry revolver throws a taste of brass into an old West style vibe. I really like it. And it offers options for those people who are tired of the time dated Rieger and Smith and Wesson options. Thanks for watching buddy, I appreciate your comment!
I can say, they are not absolutely gorgous. They in fact, are quite ugly. I wish them luck however, may they sell many to the "henry" lovers out there!
I wish they did a better grade on the grip for sure. A little scrolling accent would do more than the brass, I think, provided it didn't look cheap, Glenfield level. It may grow on my as is, but it didn't wow me like the design of the Side Gate series. The way they scrolled that wood is a nice touch and appealing, like the oak leaves on a Lasermark.
There's a reason why Henry has good customer service. I've bought 2 and both were junk. I have a new Ruger made Marlin 336c. The Henry doesn't come close to the new Ruger.
I’ll have to take your word for it for now buddy. I’m not interested right now in a $1230 30-30 that has been made for 75 years and over priced. That may change in the future, but for now I have 2 JM Marlin 30-30 that shoot great and I don’t need a third one. Everyone likes what they like! I can’t imagine 2 Henry’s and both being as you say “junk”, but I can’t dispute it either. I respect your opinion and appreciate you for watching and commenting!👍
I think generally Henry is too high priced. I suppose it’s like anything else when your buying the brand name. As far as the revolver is concerned I’m surprised they didn’t bring out a single action revolver to add to their line. It would fit in with the lever action era much better. In that picture the double action just looks off somehow I can’t quite put my finger on what exactly it is. Not sure yet if I’m a fan.
I’m surprised the first revolver was a single action as well. I think it’ll still be pretty cool! Honestly, on the pricing, the new henries rifles are actually less expensive than the new Marlins and Winchester’s, believe it, or not! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! @@Hunting4Hookers yeah well I wasn’t aware of how expensive they were going for until yesterday. Don’t misunderstand I think that’s insane to ask that much for a 30/30 as well. Thanks for the video.

@@Hunting4Hookers I've been watching for the case hardened 20in Henry lever action to become available as is always sold out.

The style on those Henry revolvers makes them look a lot like 1980s Charter Arms revolvers. I'm more than a little concerned about the brass lite grip frames. That material scratches pretty easy. Hope the do an all blue steel version and they keep the QC up.

@@kennethgoin628
That’s a pretty good take on the subject and you might be dead on with that thinking.

Same thing happened to me with the 357/38 big boy. Waited for a few years, then gave in and purchased the non-side gate. The next year... side gate.

That's what I want to get the 38/357 riffle so my hand gun fits the same ammo. I don't like buying different ammo for different fire arm's if I can keep all the ammo the same I'll stick to that.

Little story/analogy:
I'm not a rich man, so I have to get creative to get some of the things I want.

Kenneth, I’m starting to think we are more alike than I thought buddy!👍

That’s an excellent illustration Jay!
Who in the world told you you have to justify having 2 Henry .44 magnum rifles? Don't justify!

How much does Brazil or Italy pay there employees?
I really have no clue on that answer. But I’ll bet it’s lower than they do in the US.
At least in Brazil . Italy is likely closer being that it’s basically a socialist European nation.
Now I have to ask what the question was about.

If you decide to, we might can do some wheeling and dealing buddy!
The GP 100 has an actual rear sight. I dont know why they could not do that here.
The Henry also has rear sights, just not the same.

357 lever action it’s gonna be nice get that 357 mag revolver to put it as a set. Something to pass down to my kids. Or grandkids.

Well. Now that Henry makes the brass side gates the older ones with out the gate are now worth more money.
@@kennethgoin628
I never load any tube load guns that way.
I usually hold them at about 45 degrees and let them slide down. Even the 22s, and especially the 44 mag.
Thanks buddy!

I wish Henry would follow up with a 327 FedMag revolver!

Thanks for watching and leaving a comment buddy, I really appreciate it!

Usually the fit and finish are impeccable on the Henry
The 2 H rifles I have or as close to flawless as anything I’ve ever seen.

Cool, but too expensive for me. $700 would be a better price target.
Rossi makes an awesome lever action 44 mag for a little less than that!
Thanks for your comment! I really appreciate it buddy!

But to get high-quality, American made firearms in our economy, the Henry’s are actually at the low end of the price range now
From the lever guns, single shots, and revolvers all the American companies are more expensive than Henry.
Thanks again for watching and leaving a comment my friend

Thanks for watching and commenting!
Buy foreign. And eat your Brazilian pistol.
Junk? Wtf
Cheap labor means cheap products.
I can respect your opinion!
But Henry is the best priced high quality lever gun maker in America , and completely American made.

I appreciate you for watching and your comment buddy!
Your comma placements are comical. Go back to third grade for a refresher course. You also butchered the spelling of "gorgeous".
