This is great. Thank you. Great to have this information pre spring, especially with Verroa.

Hi again @FlowHive team. A local beekeeper, and queen breeder, advised me against using my original (and only) hive to create a second hive. I was intending to do a split as swarm management for the first hive and as a way of creating my second. His reasoning was that I could end up with two weak hives and risk losing both. He suggested building the 2nd hive from a nuc so I retained at least one strong hive. What are your thoughts on that and, if I were to go that way, what are my other swarm management options for the original hive? Cheers.

Hi Cedar, can I ask for some advice?
My Italian bees haven't been migrating up to the flow super, and it's really puzzling me, so advice would be welcome. I'm in the UK if that helps at all.
Also, having already experienced swarming four times this year it's been a very busy year for me, so this advice is welcome. Lastly, any tips with how to create wireless frames?

      Hey Alex,
Sorry for the late reply here. Thanks for getting in touch and I'm sorry your bees haven't been taking to the Flow Frames yet.
There are a few different factors to consider, so the best place to trouble shoot would probably be via email where we can ask you questions about your hive and you can send photos etc too.
Can you email us at info@honeyflow.com about this?
Info about how long the colony has been established, how long ago you added the super, and how full the brood box was when you added it, as well as when the last time you did an inspection of the brood and the general health of the hive would be helpful to start with.
In the meantime you might also find this page helpful:

Thanks, we look forward to hearing from you and seeing through to resolution with you from there :) - Danika

Please SHOW me what to look for in the remaining bees a week AFTER they have swarmed. Do I remove the súper now that they swarmed?

You will need to remove the super once they have swarmed even if it is just for a couple of weeks letting them build in numbers once more. -Kieran

With the frames when stuck to the super I was taught to twist the super to separate them from the top.
Is that very risky of killing queen or is that a good practice.

      Hey there,
Hmmm I'm not totally sure what you mean by twisting sorry, perhaps you could send us a video or further explanation via email at info@honeyflow.com ?
To remove tricky brood frames it is best to take out an edge frame out first and then you can shift the other brood frames out of the way with the extra space provide, upwards leverage is always better for the safety of your bees

If you take a split of your hive, then you need to get a new queen for that split -correct?

Yes or make sure they have a frame of eggs and young larvae to make themselves a new queen
