"There are so many things I would tell you if I thought you would listen, and things you would tell me if you thought I would understand" I get that with my brother awww :)
***** her brothers name is philip hers is sara after the brother asked if the letters p and s stood for and the mother said no he said salt and paper as a sort of shrug Thats what i think
+Carmella Dolmer He asked his mother for the reasoning behind the letters s and p. She declined his first guess, so he assumed it was his second guess. His second guess was that she used the pairing of salt and pepper, because there were two children and salt and pepper are usually together at the table :)
***** I have two little brothers... And besides THEM being my baby borthers, theyre my best friends... And I love them and we fight and I just love them, I guess Im the annoying one... The older sister! :)
a poem has no need to rhyme. It can should it want to. But it doesn't have to. A poem is about expression, And we might not think a poem has rhythm, but someone else might think it does.
I love this woman! I hope to someday be as good at articulating my words as she is. She has an incredible stage presence as well! I'll be doing my first open mic in a few days and I'm very nervous, it's hard looking at people this great at spoken word when you're just getting started. If anyone gets a chance, I'd very much appreciate you listening to the spoken words of mine that I have on my channel. Only if you have time, though. I write hoping that my words will either help someone or put something into perspective for an outsider. Much love!
I hate hearing people complain about having siblings. I'm an only child and I've always wanted to have a little brother or sister. But I think, deep down, this is what my friends think of their family.
my brother is eleven years older than me so we never really shared a bond, especially because as a child for some unknown reason i focused all my anger onto him, and i wish all the time my siblings and i shared a deeper bond
opposite of rubber band haha took me a while but i got it, rubber bands reject everything that comes towards them it bounces off. and him being opposite means that he gets everything that comes towards him. am i right?
It's nice to hear a poem about the bonds between siblings. As far as the spoken word goes, it is a subject that is barely covered in songs but in poetry it has a home.
There is a great rhythm and enough rhyme in this poem and others. Example "wake, commercial break" and "rubber band, understand." I think her poems are beautiful and inspirational, every single one.
salt and pepper instead of the 16th and 19th letter of the alphabet... brilliant... makes me wonder if that was her being creative or if that was really her brother
OMG!!!! that is SOOOO weird!!! my brother, watches law in order! my brother know a lot of magic card tricks!!! the compass thing! same thing! also i do talk to him when he wants to listen and he does talk to me when he thinks i will understand!!!! i love this poem now!!!! wow.... i thought i wz the only one wit a bro like that =D hehe
This inspires me to write poems about each of my sisters! (I have no brothers, but I can think of a few guys in my life who qualify as brothers & I'd love to write something like this for them. I'd send them this, but it wouldn't fit them as much, since it was written specifically for her little brother.)
"There are so many things I would tell you if I thought you would listen, and things you would tell me if you thought I would understand" I get that with my brother awww :)
Something I would share with my brother if I thought he'd listen. Brought me to tears.
coco cat same here
Thx for helping me with my ela hw. You gave me a good quote in quarantine.
Aw, I'm showing this to my 16yr old brother, whose gonna be 17 next month. Funny, my brother is the reason I know who Sarah Kay is.
"Okay, just salt and pepper then" brilliant.
what does it mean please? :)

I can tell by her poems she's had a really cool family life. It's so sweet.. I feel I'm walking into that affection when she expresses it.
I plan on reading this poem to my brother at some point, like a wedding or a graduation.
I would like to know whether the time you read it has come or not yet? ✨❤
this reminds me so much of my little brother

This is so freaking amazing. Excuse me while I go call my brother real quick. ;_;

Shes So Pretty And Naturally Talented.
I Love Her (:
I'm definitely dedicating this to my sister on her birthday!

My birthday is June16! :)

Crying so hard
I live away from my family and am watching this on my brother's bday. 😅
sarah is awesome
haha aw maybe I might show this to my brother someday
Like 3 seconds into the poem I started crying, my brother was killed 4 years ago
Joshua Bennet, amazing poet, little brother to a deaf older sister. Look him up and listen to his poem that he preformed at the White House!
I totally agree! :)
love, love, love this!
I think it's really cool when raw talent is so strong that you can see it organizing itself as a writer speaks.
I love pretty much love all her poems...but this is one of my faves (besides for "if I should have a daughter" and "worst poetry".)
so heartwarming.
OMG!!!! that is SOOOO weird!!! my brother, watches law in order! my brother know a lot of magic card tricks!!! the compass thing! same thing! also i do talk to him when he wants to listen and he does talk to me when he thinks i will understand!!!! i love this poem now!!!! wow.... i thought i wz the only one wit a bro like that =D hehe

Even when her poems aren't sad, I want to cry. The feeling in her voice just moves me.
"You can solve a Law & Order before the first commercial break"
That describes my brother perfectly. This poem is beautiful! :)
that was good
i just showed this to my bro haha but i'm his little sister so he didn't understand it as well. idc i love him
Do you have a sister so she can say "This was posted on my brother's birthday too!" lol happy birthday :)
I've been watching videos of her poems for like the last hour and I just feel like writing my own!
I'm very sorry to hear that :(
This was made ten years ago on my birthday and now I'm watching it on my birthday.
