I'm amazed by the quality of the production: the view of the board, the computer analysis matching each position the player is evaluating, the comments. We should have more events like this around the world.
I think this was my favourite match of this challenge so far! Lots of interesting positions, crazy jokers, and both players found some really hard plays over the board. The commentary is also excellent. I feel like Marc and Nick's chemistry keeps getting better over the years. Great job everyone!
There's a saying "The harder you practice, the luckier you get" Mochy is the current world champion and winner of many tournaments (super jackpot etc) so he couldn't have won all this riding on just luck..
Hi I have two questions about the conduct of these games. 1. Why not use electronic dice? 2. Why are players allowed to move pieces and put them back? Imagine Magnus Carlsen doing that in the Chess Championships!
Hi Ken 1. Why use electronic dice? this is not an online game between far- away players. Mochie and Dirk sit infront of each other so they should use proper dice. Besides, It's more fun to hear the dice roll and to think you're in charge of your own luck.. 2 Backgammon is not Chess! In BG you CAN move the checkers back and forth until you hit the clock. Let's not forget that you can move only one piece per move in chess BUT you can move up to four pieces per move in BG (and if you hit the opponent checkers you move even more..) - So in order to help visulize the next out-come position, the rules allow you to move the checkers without commiting until you hit the game clock. Cheers! 🙂
@@dorongronski2328 while physical dice may not be weighted and I notice that the players at least use the same dice, it is very likely that they have an unintended bias when rolled, whereas electronic dice would be properly randomised.
@@dorongronski2328 as an impartial observer I find it annoying when players pieces back and forth several times before deciding on a final move - and at times they seem to forget the original positions - are they too dense too visualize the moves in their head before committing?
@@georgekuiper3223 @george kuiper Hi George I agree that sometimes it can be off-putting to watch pieces go back and forth but on the plus side ,you get to see different variants and responses which you didn't think of AND you get to watch the thinking process of the greats of the game. And no,they are not dense at all! you see you forget that after the visualization of the next position there is also the the calculation of possibilities and variants. Cheers! 🙂

Agreed!
Love Michi’s analysis - he explains so well and his books are the best! The simple proverbs make it so easy to remember and analyze
I could easily watch an hour of his clips.
What a stunningly beautiful board!
(not to mention pretty darn good match commentary and presentation ☺)
"Did you get it? Do you like it? Okay!" 😄
Ya just gotta love Michy! 👋👍🙏
I love it!
Professional production, best board ever and excellent commentary.
Thanks a lot Ginger :-D
I was sent here to smash that like-button. But now I'm addicted.
Dirk has a good composure for going through that
Mochi really proves that backgammon is a math strategic game!
How many lucky rolls can a person get ?

I would like to see Michy analyse Mochy´s double five play in the last game.
35.44> This is the stuff that happens to me. 58.20>Some kind of justice for Dirk. Dice weren't always kind to him.

Did you like it?
Okay!
Mochy is a dice magician.Athorities should examine this seriously. He always prefers cup to roll dices.
Do 12 matches no matter what for later comparison
It's the first to reach 13 pts so I think if Mochy wins the next match (both game and PR) the score would be 13-3 than it's over ..
i have supported Mochy from the start why are the commentators always cheering on Dirk are they not supposed to be impartial
They are actually such fanboys of Mochi it makes hard to listen to
They said sorry beforehand about rooting for Dirk now. The reason is, that if Dirk catches up, we get to see more matches. That's the only reason.
Gotta root for the underdog!
