This was a great beginners kit for a great price. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxKRURvLsu9Vvyw7gIuvt8FsApoQNCdz-1 Its given us a huge variety to test out and see what works well and what we like to use. Majority of the flies have stayed together well, but some of the rainbow warriors did unravel after catching a few blue gill. All in all, this was a great kit and are so happy with the purchase and value for money.
Very cool to see this pattern. I recall being given a version of this fly back in 1986 at Offutt AFB Base Lake by two old flyfishermen. Hooked me. Thanks for posting this.
Absolutely spectacular. Sure you went back and did this but if you didn't you might want to put some UV resin on the head to lock those eyes on. From experience shellcracker will literally suck those eyes off with their crushers in their throat. Shellcracker are a totally different breed when it comes to power and meaness compared to a regular bluegill. Years ago I had custom made some 1/64 ounce underspins and after about a dozen shellcracker I noticed the tiny blade was gone. I thought it was a desig flaw where the eye loop was completely closed so I checked the next one I tied on and it was secure. Again, after about a dozen shellcracker the tiny blade was gone! The only thing I could figure out was on that 1/80th jig, the wire was so thin that the crushers in those shellcracker were literally opening up the blade loop after several fish. This particular underspin I designed was so small that each shellcracker would engulf and those crushers they have was removing the tiny blade. Great tie Mustache. They waybyou put materials together along with color schemes are amazing. You do a really good job on everything you produce. Very well instructed as well. You are doing extremely well and wish you the best. Thanks for sharing.
Just found this on my watch later list. Awesome! Knowing the guys at FFF that probably was meant to be barf brown color 😅 Anyway thanks for another awesome post!
Awesome looking jig im going to have to try and make one myself. I think if you used a gray marabou it would maybe give it the more minnow gray. But it still looks awesome keep up the great work.
Bruiser blend provides a nice round baitfish look that holds its shape in the water. It also has sparse streaks of UV fibers that look like baitfish veins. There’s nothing quite like it.
yea hit looks cool when it's wet but that's not really how it looks under water either. All the materials used on this fly flow and pulse when moved under water, they don't keep that profile you see at 6:43 . That's not a bad thing either, it's just that people need to realize that they are not getting the profile and appearance that is similar to some soft plastics.
I put in the description that it’s an altered version of the baby fat minnow. I buy 90% of my materials from the flyfishfood shop and I chat with Cheech, Lance, and the crew every time I’m in there. Those guys are great.
That is a sweet jig!! Really a great imitation of a small bait fish!! Thanks for sharing!!

OK, that settles it. You're my favorite tyer on UA-cam. 🤘💯🎣
I appreciate it!
Genius tie! Looks like a near perfect imitation of a small shad/minnow, is cheap to tie, and can be spun in a lot of different color variations!

How do you do those eyes so easy. My left thumb has 3 stinking eyes super glued to it.
Man I hate that. It happens to me too.
What did you use to flatten the jig head?
Needle nose pliers
Very nice.
I love this. Curious....what is the difference or advantage of bruiser blend?

Don't show the midwest steelhead boys this one, especially the ones from Ohio lol
