Im on my second I just love it..but tryin it with thicker yarn I hope its ok to do that with a 5 hook....here goes hoping lol

Hi I am making mine longer too. Can you tell me how many rows or shells you made yours? Is it multiples of 8 to make it longer? I am at 60 shells do I make 4 more rows to make it 64? what about the +2? I would really appreciate your help because I already took the border apart because the puff stitches didn't line up right. I would never have been able to do this blanket by following a written pattern. Your tutorial is absolutely fabulous! I am so thankful for your detailed instruction. Try as I might I still keep getting only 16 shells, I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
That happened to me as well. Use stitch markers every 10 - 20 chains. Then keep them in as you're making your shells to make sure you havent skipped a chain. (I gave up on the back loop of the chain and am using the front loop. Just could not get it to come out correctly using back). Hope this helps.
