Traded in my 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk for a 2017 QX50 AWD. Night and Day. It's a little short on options and storage but lordy, that motor it pulls. The AWD as I am discovering with all the rain here in California puts that power down.
@@shaunr5450 The QX70 is definitely a larger vehicle and the back seats are suitable for children. Although I don't know if you want them spilling any drinks or snacks all over the place. At the time it was still made in Japan and I believe was the last year they were made there. It is truly a beautiful car sitting on 20-in wheels. It has the same 3.7 l engine which is outstanding. Seats for easily. The only reason I went with the QX50 besides saving $10,000 was I didn't need a car as big as the QX70. They handle really well with a very stiff ride and a corner. Excellently. Acceleration is pretty good. They might make one in a V8. In which case I would have definitely got the QX70.
I just bought an AWD 2016 infinity qx50 in pearl white with black leather and all the trimmings. I love it. The performance and handling puts a smile on my face. It's a beautiful vehicle with enough cargo space to fit a large bike without taking the wheels off.
@@shaunr5450 I still have my 2016 QX50. I don't think the newer QX50s are as sporty as the 2016. It's been a very dependable vehicle. I've had no problems at all. I just do the regular maintenance and I've replaced the brake pads. It still puts a smile on my face when I floor it on the straight away or on the twisties :-) I don't need the extra room of the QX70.
Roman does a nice review. There are some comments about the Interior. It's a beautiful interior with wonderful chairs. I'm surprised they haven't updated the dashboard with a small color hi def display rather than the 2009 black / white little display. But, the 3.7 is a pleasure to drive & Infiniti is keeping prices in a good range. Heck look what the Ford Escape costs loaded.
I got myself the EX35 2016 V6 2.5l at China which here is called QX50. No major issues after 8years of usage, have 129.000km so far. Of course there are some things to fix here and there from time to time but nothing too costly.
love your videos . my favorite part for sure is the "beans" I also like the fact that you guys do regular cars that most of us would consider buying or like to know about. it feels like a test drive with a friend and not a salesman ,
I am surprised that it does not have a panoramic sunroof, and I am even more surprised that it does not have a power liftgate. I'd definitely take the Acura RDX, Cadillac SRX/CT5, or the new Lincoln MKX over the QX50.
All the cars that you would take over the qx50 are not even in the same class. They're much larger. Remember, the qx50 is a CROSSOVER not an SUV. The chassis is literally the same as the q50 sedan. A better comparison would be the qx60.
They don't seem to hold there value so find one you like used and ignore the dumb letters and number names. Don't seem to update anything to much just a slow roll following Nissans new stuff handed down after a couple years. Reminds me of Buick just fluff other models and call them Buick, not a bad idea as far as offering a lot of value and dependability of tried and true platforms, and quite nice styles ( Buick and infinity).
+680ecks The problem is Nissan pretty much stopped giving a crap for Infiniti. Literally. Once Renault merged with Nissan, Carlos Ghosn was more interested in uglifying Nissans lineup than investing in Infiniti. He was even debating killing Infiniti off. When he hired Johan DeNysschen he told him that if he wanted to he could keep Infiniti alive but he was ok with killing it off too if Johan got tired of it. And now with DeNysschen off to Cadillac, I feel like Infiniti's future is up in the air now. And this poor attempt at a redesign is not exactly giving me any signs of hope that Infiniti will be around much longer. It's really sad because I feel Infiniti has the potential of being a worthy competitor to brands like Lexus and even BMW.
This outdated ugly SUV has: 325hp VQ37 engine that can rev over 7k, Engine mount behind front axle to create near 50/50 weight distribution, "Rev-Match" 7 speed transmission, "Forge Aluminum" Double Wishbone front suspension and "Forge Aluminum" Independent Multi-link rear suspension (you can only find this setup on Porsche Macan and Audi SQ5 and it ain't cheap), Hydraulic power steering for best road feedback (instead of modern numb electric power steering), Made in Tochigi, Japan (one of the best assembly factory in the world), and etc... This is pretty much 90% of Porsche Macan S' performance with 60% of its price. Name one 2017 compact SUV with all these features mention above that is under 45k OTD.
lol, I am just being sarcastic. I bought this car last year and I love it. Just about every QX50 video, people keep bashing about how ugly it is but didn't know that this is actually the best value sport crossover on the market and maybe in next 5 years as well.
I feel like whenever Nissan can't sell something, they just make minor changes and sell it as new ex. Rogue Select; Frontier, Armada, Titan, and now this - its improved, but now 'new'
As much as I like the interior design, technologically it's very outdated and behind the competition. Even though it has some nice features, the convenience features that you would use over and over again are not easy to access. Would like if the review mentioned those items as well, such as getting to the outside temperature, and fuel consumption features, that in most cars are available all the time, in this one are cumbersome and unsafe to access while driving. Most cars are pretty good now a days, and it's the little things that will set them apart.
The q50, qx60, and qx80 are such attractive cars. How did they come up with this? Not that this is horrible as much as it looks dated. Can we confirm this is a 2016 and not a 2008?
I'm just commenting so y'all know that I (I can't be the only one) stopped watching the moment that hipster whistle clap chimey jingle music started playing. I'm Soo tired of that sound in EVERY video that it drives me nuts.
Wowww. Infiniti waited about 8-9 years to refresh to this car just to add led lighting in the front and add more legroom?. Infiniti tends to DRAGGGGGGGGGGG the lifecycle for their cars. That's why I wouldn't spend all that money on a new one when I can get a 10 year old ( I dragged it) that has the same body style and looks lol
Shame this model doesn't have auxiliary input for audio or support Bluetooth audio streaming unless you get $2000 Premium Plus package which again requires another $500 Premium package. So, you have to spend $2500 to play songs or hear Google maps on car audio. But that package ruins the interior in almost red looking ugly maple trim.
Infinity lost track in engine department. They are using same old engine for generations in all Infinity lineup. Just by changing exterior design doesn't improve sales. No surprise they are selling Q50 with more than $6000 discount
Nobody actually get this car please because it's so old & outdated by now even though it's just been recently refreshed because let's face it, it's still got some outdated exterior lighting & outdated cabin tech probably as well, unless if they've actually updated the infotainment system. They'll probably come out with a new QX50 concept or production car within the next 1-3 years.
Bought one for the wife , what an amazing , powerful , excellent handling car . It is a sleeper ....
They really don't need to change anything else! Just bought one and love it!

Did you also check out the qx70? I'm torn between the two. Would like a little more space for kids, but don't want to give up the qx50 sportiness.

Do you prefer this car over 2015 LR Discovery sport HSE or Audi Q3?

Looks to me like it would be reasonably comfortable and have decent cargo space. I think I would prefer the AWD though.
not surprised it makes 325 hp because its a skyline crossover.

and I bet that's what their shooting far. I agree :)
Good video, good job tflc
325hp vq37 with real 7 sp trans
You wont find this anymore. Everything is 4cyl turbo with cvt
what song did u use for this review? I like it tbh
nissan Skyline crossover
I have a 2007 G35, and this 2016 Infiniti has the exact same interior.
Time for a complete redesign and not only a facelift.
how is the engine oriented? kind of surprising it comes as rwd only.
+dmoney8766 FYI it comes as both a RWD and AWD crossover as Roman mentions in the review.
+The Fast Lane Car This may be one of Romans better reviews! He was actually an adult. I can share it with a clean conscious.
+dmoney8766 Run's off the FM platform. Same platform that under pins the Z and 90% of Infiniti's cars.
The background music you'll have used in this video feels good to watch the video with more interest :-)
I never learned which Q this was and forgot it existed.
I am surprised that it does not have a panoramic sunroof, and I am even more surprised that it does not have a power liftgate. I'd definitely take the Acura RDX, Cadillac SRX/CT5, or the new Lincoln MKX over the QX50.
this car was built how long ago? what do you expect! the new qx30 which is the replacement should fix that...

I'd take 325 horsepower over automatic liftgate anyday
first he says it doesn't have much power, then in the next 10 seconds he's laughing at how fast it is. !?!?

and this is how nissan sells you a 2014 refurbished infiniti that didnt sell in the lot. bravo nissan you never ends to amaze me.
It's not refurbished. It's a brand new vehicle. Refurbished means a used product that has been fixed.

did they go back in time 15 years ago grab the design and brought it to the present?
i love it ❤
Pedestrian safe front end.
They could have redesigned this instead of taking the lazy route
I feel like whenever Nissan can't sell something, they just make minor changes and sell it as new

It's an EX35. no matter how Infiniti stupidly change its name. Nothing new to me. Why Infiniti abandon the G series name. Too stupid.
I'm just commenting so y'all know that I (I can't be the only one) stopped watching the moment that hipster whistle clap chimey jingle music started playing. I'm Soo tired of that sound in EVERY video that it drives me nuts.
It's nice, but it's an 8 year old design.
This car is on Grand Theft Auto.
+Gary James actually the Fathom fq2 is meant to represent the fx
Yup! Simeon always wants it.
+Precious Gaming™ omg lmao

I'd take the NX F-Sport over this any day. That front end doesn't settle well with me whatsoever.
because the Lexus has a sexy front end right? lol...
occckid123 It looks much better than the QX50.
+occckid123 it looks awesome
+UA-cam Aneesh right, because the mug on the Lexus doesn't make you think you're about to get swallowed by predator.
occckid123 Dude, it's called an OPINION. Stop getting so butthurt about my opinion. If you don't like the Lexus, then GOOD FOR YOU.

Not all Q50s come in maple trim. I need to inform you of that. Mine has black leather with a white exterior.
Thank you! I was looking to buy a used on at a dealership, but this will prevent that considering music is my life in the car!! 👊
Infinity lost track in engine department. They are using same old engine for generations in all Infinity lineup. Just by changing exterior design doesn't improve sales. No surprise they are selling Q50 with more than $6000 discount
looks like a 2006 in the front. imho
the whole car actually looks dated to me. infinity has always been dated to me.
Too little too late for this model. It needs a full redesign.

Too bad it's still ugly as heck
It's better looking than the Chevy cobalt.
+K.C. Rasmus It lacks the gaudiness and unreliability of a caddy that people find so endearing.
+K.C.'s RC Is that you're hay GM inner ego talkingm
K.C.'s RC fuck u
K.C.'s RC lmao so you have a car that's not yours okay nice
Terrible camera work-very distorted!
I Have infiniti Is Not good To many problems Infiniti
the front is ugly... and i have 2 infiniti
Agree the ex is better
The Lexus NX? lol, the NX destroys this ugly thing!
+Lexus Cohen not in horsepower
Not in handling either
What an ugly car
