Don't take it personal about peoples comments you do you I like it I like you're fishing keep it up Victor I'm 75 Years old don't worry about other people it's not worth the anxiety they have the right to think what they think don't worry about it just stay with it I like it
i actually don't care what anyone thinks.. just mentioning for the curious..
Was doubting between the new vanford or another vanquish. But it definitily will be a vanquish.
Glad you got the lure back! Definitely like that jig head held up crazy good as long as you fought it! Drag sounds good! Looks like the line wrapped nice tight and even on your spool? You definitely had a good day fishing!
As an owner and heavy user of two Stradic HG 1000's, and a last edition of the Vanford 2000S, I much prefer the Vanford. My Vanford also had a lot of resistance out of the box. After three months it is much more free. The resistance really doesn't bother me and in a way, is actually helpful in not reeling too fast. Not much help, because it's still really smooth and easy to turn. Although I don't like the sound of the new Vanford drag, I'm most likely still going to get one and another Bellezza to pair with it. I can't afford that, never mind the Vanquish. It seems like the new Vanford drag works just fine. As long as it fishes well, I love the new look, and like I said, I love fishing with my Vanford C2000S.
anyone reading this.. go to my community page to check his pictures of his tackle, they are amazing..
I may be wrong but the 2000 series and below have a felt drag as opposed to the 2500. The 2500 and up uses a carbon drag, I have a 4000XG and it doesn’t sound like this at all, used it just this morning. However, I will say for ultralight fishing Vanford is not the move
2500 has felt too. As a matter it uses exactly the same felt, same size. It is not even felt, it is a fabric made of weaved carbon, but it really looks just like felt
@@ifishcatfishNeedless to say the drag does sound different for the larger reels 3000-5000
That ester line is SO impressive! It amazes me that 2.1 lbs line can handle such a big fish. I really need to pick some up! Wich color is your favorite? Is it still the red? I seem to remember you saying each color has different properties.
no, do NOT buy Ester for strength - this is the WORST line to buy for strength! Anything but ester for strength! The only reason i use it is sensitivity - thats it!
The drag sounds different because of the material of how the Vanford is made. The sound of the Stella, TwinPower, and Vanquish is different!
but why different compared to old vanford
It seems like there needs to be a little modification to the Vanford 24 sound clicker.
watch my last video
Cant lie buddy that drag sound like some cheap plastic reel from a local bait shop. Definitely doesn't match your energy. Just okay is not good enough for ifish🤷🏾
I’d pre-order that I-fish rod for sure. Victor what knot do you use to tie your backing line to the Ester main line? I’m trying the surgeons knot but it’s a pain in the ass to put the line spool through the loop. Do you use like 2lb mono as backing line?
i use uni to uni knot for everything. I dont think its the best or anything, but i've been doing it since a kid and i can tie it real fast.
For backing line u can use the cheapest line u can find on temu or ebay, but diameter should be no more than 0.14mm or line lay will not be nice
When I heard the vanford drag sound on the promo videos I thought it sounded okay, but there was a japanese youtuber who showed an aftermarket spoon on aliexpress called heighten spare spool and it sounds way better. Way more metallic than plastic, almost like a bell. Can't way to use it on fish next season.
link? I want to hear that

@@ifishcatfish I tried posting the link three different ways and youtube keeps deleting my comments. I can make a video of it and sent it to you via email instead if you would like?
@@torment6369 yes, youtube doesn't like other people's links to prevent spam. Email is the only way. Thank you!
@@ifishcatfish I see, well I've just sent you the video through the email in your descriptions. Hopefully all goes well.
Victor something odd happened this morning….
I was using a new bg1gram jig head and a trout magnet….Catching some small bluegill and crappie…
I had a good strike and missed the fish then I looked at the jig and the trout magnet was still glued on but the hook broke right at the lead of the jig…
Have you heard of this happening….
at the head?? That I have not heard.. thats not a weak point... I can't even imagine.. Do u remember if the jig looked alright prior to glueing? I buy the hooks from Japan and ship them to china where they pour the lead and pack them. I guarantee the hooks are top notch but... i don't know, maybe in the factory it got glued to the mold and someone grabbed it with the pliers and pulled it out and damaged the wire... Must be some weird incident because this is just not where a jig breaks. That wire must have been damaged in the factory before u even glued it. Let me know the exact model
Yes, it sounds better 🎉 , i bet you invested a lot of time on that, but sadly, still not even close to the Sahara or Legalis. What it misses is the metallic sound. When i pay for something more, i imagine tiny bells from the heaven that told me that i succeed to catch a fish. I hope you mention this in your videos, because the big makers are listening to you. They must come with something else, even an expensive mechanical wrist watch can sound like heaven and angels, they can do it too,for what they charge. All the best for you, you’re the best 🎉
: )
To answer your question, I think the drag sounds a lot like the cheap Walmart combos that cost $15. To me at least, it sounds very plasticy, I prefer the metal "ping" sound of some of the Daiwas.
dawas are metal spring running on metal teeth. Shimano is plastic
@@ifishcatfish Well that makes sense lol it sounds just like that.
It’s unmistakably a mix of plastic and metal, I wouldn’t say it sounds absolutely terrible but… When slow, I hear more metal, when it starts peeling, it’s more plastic (sounds pretty bad). It’s nothing like the new TP in the last Live, that’s for sure.
Anyway, you couldn’t have hooked into a better fish for this demonstration. Thanks for sharing!
the TP is MUSIC
I generally prefer the performance of Shimano reals over Daiwa but Daiwa definitely have a nicer sounding drag. I’d love to see a video on how you prefer to maintain your spinning reel bearings on your ultralight reels. I’ve seen many differing opinions on oils and some people using light grease
@@danieldoyle6001 i agree. Maybe this winter i eill do a maintenance video
I don't like the sound of a -24 Vanford drag but man does it look good. Kinda tempting for a new ul setup. Wish Shimano threw a new ultegra for us.
they will. And it will feel just as good and sound better. Just 25 grams more, but might be worth it
actualy the 2020 vanford spool will fit nicely and i dont know why but mine sounds diffrent
well.. i tinkered with the spool to make it louder..
Yes please SHIMANO please get ahold of Victor. I would a few.
come on shimano, you don't have to hate me! we can make a mutually beneficial partnership!
If you ever make a rod I would order it so fast. Hopefully in the near future. 🎉
One day i will. I promise. I know what i want and how to make it.
Oh my goodness, that drag sounds very different from the last 2 previous models; including the Ci4. Thanks for the great content Victor, but like several have stated I’m going to pass on the new Vanford. On another note, the Cabalas in my area is selling the new Vanford and the previous model for the same price, which isn’t smart imo. I agree completely with your assessment of the Stradic, it’s not an UL reel.
or may it is smart...
..but the Cabelas's Vanfords are 1000's and HG... just sayin'.
What would be your perfect ultralight rod?
there are may rods that I like almost 100 out of 100. Too close to call. It would mean i like it way more than the rest. This eradicator is definitely in top 3
What do you think is a good bass rod for the twinpower?
There are too many unknowns. Also i am not familiar with bass rods. The Zodias is very overrated tho, and so are all of those NRX rods. I would probably buy some Yamaga Blanks in medium power, or even Major Craft.
@ which major craft rods do you like?
@ i dont have experience with the heavier rods. One life is not enough
Hello. A knot used name?
uni-to-uni. I tell everyone - the only reason i use it is because i've been doing it since 7 years old and can tie it with my eyes closed. There may be better knots there but i don't want to learn any more : ) Plus, it seems to work well enough..
And snap knot?
I personally don’t like the sound of the drag but I’m not the one fishing it
thats a good way of putting it
I’ve got same reel mate, not impressed I think the Stradic is better reel, just my opinion, and the Daiwa drag sounds 10 times better again just my opinion
your opinion is noted, mate!
to me the drag sounds more like a 1/4 in drive ratchet being spun around.
hate to argue with u, but i think a ratchet sound better. Its all-metal sound..
not a bad idea for a drag clicker actually, if anyone from shimano reads..
No more vanford for me. I dont like that sound
Victor I hate the sound of new Vanford the old Vanford sound is way better.......
you and me both
Hopefully a Beautiful Buffalo....
never seen one : )
unfortunately I agree with most..drag sound seems cheap and plastic. the new Daiwa legalis has a much nicer sound. even the $20 chinese reels sound better
My Stradic drag sounds like better than the Vanford's drag.
that is a point i would concede
The drag sounds cheap. Doesn't have a high pitch metal sound.
Sounds like a cheap drag. Great fishing though.
Naah dont like the drag sound.
sahara sound better than this..
this is EXACTLY what i said in the video that i am releasing in 20 mins : )
Hello i_fish let me know what kind of fishing rod you're looking for. let me know your email or a wait to contact you. My name is Eric.
am I looking for? I did not understand this
Maybe I’m not correct, you want someone build fishing rod for you with your personal specifications?
